My first experience here was good. There was a long line (almost out the door) during lunch time when I went. So it was a little awkward being in the way of people needing to get in and out. I ordered the small size of the Tristan pizza, which was excellent. It was the perfect size for me because I did not want leftovers. They had a nice big patio which I enjoyed eating on.

I love their Greek salad it's my fav along with the calemexio mini ... staff is ultra polite and not only look like having good time to wrk but steadily super focused

Pizza was good but they put rosemary on cheese sticks didn't ask just put it on mine and my sister and laws. I would have sent it back but they were closing soon. The pizza is good just tell them to hold the rosemary.

Came here on my lunch break and the service was quick. I was a bit disappointed with my pizza, I got the 11inch pizza and I got to pick my own toppings and I asked for pesto sauce. The pesto sauce was a bit too oily for my taste. They do have some outside seating but there were also plenty of people sitting inside.

Think of this as a "subway" or "Chipotle" style of ordering pizzas. There are some pizza choices you can make or you can just pick your own toppings. Then you pay for the pizza and wait for your pie to cook and they call your name. The price is set at like $7.77 for a pizza with any toppings you want. They have fountain drinks, iced tea and 2 flavors of lemonade. Nothing about this place is objectionable other than the sound level inside.

So this was my first MOD experience, I am usually a Blaze person, but since it is no longer in Hamburg I went and tried MOD. I will say it is the same build your own pizza concept. One thing I really enjoyed about MOD was that I could get a cauliflower or GF crust, I really like when places have these options for dietary/allergy purposes. I ended up with a cauliflower crust, white sauce, garlic, mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon, and sausage. I know it's pretty basic, but I was being very indecisive this day. It took about 12 minutes start to finish. At the end I topped 1/2 of it with light ranch. I took it to my car and started eating and realized I needed to capture the pictures. It was very good. I really enjoyed the cauliflower crust and really just thought it tasted like a crispy thin crust. I will definitely go back for this crust. Overall, good experience. Staff could be a little more friendly and welcoming, and helpful to new customers.

Many times I've wondered what MOD stands for, so I looked it up. "Made On Demand." While the company's restaurants sell personal-size pizzas that are assembled as the customer selects toppings and then baked quickly in an extremely hot oven, they also have a MOD sized pizza that I think is big enough for two people. I'm not a huge pizza fan, so I'm just now getting around to trying this place. It's one of two Lexington MOD Pizza locations. This one is in the Hamburg area, in the old Calistoga building. Very conveniently located to the interstate. I was in the area with my mom and was look for a quick grab to go, right at 11am. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted. The guy at the head of assembly line must've been a manager. There were three people working the line, but my first observation was that we waited about five minutes to start our order. He was tossing several personal pizza for one person (I saw the same name on each paper mat). For a awhile, we were the only ones in the line, but still, he was tossing away for this said individual who apparently placed an online or phone order, because she was nowhere to be seen. I finally ordered a salad. Starting with several options for greens, I chose spinach. Then, he skipped right over the meats and the next person in line asked what vegetable toppings I wanted. Does meat come with the salad? IDK. I was feeling rushed, because by this time there were several people behind me. In the end, I liked that they toss it around in the dressing of choice before putting it in the to-go container. My mom ordered a MOD sized pizza and the initial serving of cheese barely reached the edges of the pizza, so at the end of the line, she asked if she could get extra cheese. She wasn't told that it would be an extra $1. She didn't even get any meat options and only two toppings, so I thought the $1 extra was a bit harsh. I hate hidden, undisclosed fees. Plus, the amount of 'extra cheese' was probably the equivalent to a three finger pinch. As I was standing waiting at the beginning of the line, the manager dude asked if we'd been there before and I explained that I'd been to Blaze, so I knew the concept. He said something like that was a curse word spoken in MODs. I hate to break it to them, but they got a little bit of catching up to do. A lot more management and customer service training, that's for sure. Blaze for the win and it's only about a half mile of so from here.

Great personal pizza place! While you obviously can get large pizzas and salads and pasta and what not, I enjoy bringing friends then all of us getting personal pizzas. Mix and match ingredients by creating your own pizza or choose ideas off the menu! Fast and friendly service, cheap prices, GREAT outdoor area. Especially at night, the outdoor seating area is lit by the amber glow of Edison bulbs and (if it's chillier) a nice fire! All with plenty of seating. It's a pretty chill place, you'll enjoy it!

I normally try to stick to non-chain restaurants but a friend told me I had to try MOD Pizza's cauliflower crust and I must say I was very impressed. It was not soggy like a lot of ones I have tried. The crust was thin and crispy and held up to the weight of all the toppings, and there were many. You order your crust and they assemble your sauces, cheeses and ingredients in a "Subway" fashion and unlike many pizza places there is no extra cost per additional topping. The selection is considerable. They offer not only mozzarella cheese but ricotta, Asiago, feta and crumbled blue cheese. You can mix and match. My favorite toppings were the spicy chicken sausage and roasted garlic cloves. I finished it off with the pesto which I definitely recommend trying.

Wonderful selection of fresh product served up by friendly faces. Great value as well as all pizzas are a flat rate based on size. Add as many items as you like for one low cost. I had a 6 inch pizza with pesto, cilantro, basil, mozzarella, asagio, chicken, bacon, sausage, tomato, roasted red peppers, and balsamic glaze. For $4.77! We'll definitely be back!

Came in for the first time to this location tonight with the kids to participate in the fundraiser for National Police Memorial Week/Lexington Police Department. There is a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and the menu/concept is pretty simple. Build your own pizza, salad or salad pizza. The toppings looked fresh and tasted pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of the crust, it was both too crunchy and too chewy - I wasn't a fan. I was also a bit disappointed that the tables and floors weren't that clean. There was crumbs and large chunks of pizza everywhere, and they were definitely not busy when we arrived. Just before we left, someone did come out to wipe down the table tops. If you're with a group with dissimilar tastes, this is a perfect place because everyone can get their own pizza just how they want it.

I liked it! I also had the blackberry lemonade! Really good!!! We got a Lucy Sunshine and a Mad Dog. I love that you can pick toppings, subtract or add more before they put it in. You get exactly what you want each and every time. The atmosphere is for a younger college age crowd..and music was a little loud for my liking..but I definately will go back. Good food, great price! Give it a try!!! read more

Good pizza, good service. The few times I have been here, the place always has been clean, the line moves quickly and the staff has been friendly. The pizza is really good. You can go with one of their recommended pizzas or you can build your own. I usually go with one of their recommended pizzas and make a modification or two. They offer several unique toppings (hello, whole roasted garlic cloves!) that may not be found at a lot of other pizza joints. I also like how one price gets you all the toppings you want. read more

I went here for the first time today for lunch. If you don't know, this place charges you by size of pizza and you can pick whatever and as many toppings as you want. I made my own pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, green peppers, and onion. It was done pretty quickly and was super good. The staff was very helpful and nice. The beverage selection was nice too, they had soda, tea, and regular lemonade and a fancier, flavored lemonade. The price was decent for how much food you get. I liked the inside of the restaurant also, it was casual but nice. The outside looked like it'd be super fun when the weather is nice. I will definitely be back sometime. read more

I have never visited MOD before, so I ordered over the phone. There was confusion between a MOD and a Mini Pizza, I wanted a medium, which they don't have. They gave me a mini, when I told them it was wrong and I needed to feed three people, they quickly made me a MOD, let me keep the mini for free, and gave me a free drink for my extra wait. The employees were courteous and could quickly help rectify my situation. Customer service goes a long way. I'm a happy first time customer and will definitely be back! read more

I love the concept of a build your own pizza and salad restaurant. However, not only is it a great concept, the food is incredible! I did a mini pizza and a side salad. The portion sizes were good and the price was reasonable. We sat outside and loved the atmosphere. I officially have a new favorite restaurant in Lexington. read more

Nice spot for a quick bite. A variety of classic pizzas as well as an opportunity to create your own. The thin style crust was light, crispy, and very good. The 'Mod' size seems to me to be plenty for most hungry adults. Adequate seating with wood tables and metal chairs and stools. Several families present on a Saturday. Price ok..not exorbitant. read more

My first time at Mod. I'm a Blaze regular back home in Michigan. I really liked this gluten free crust. One of the best I've ever had, with a chewy texture. I though the pizza chefs were a little stingy with the toppings but it was OK for a light meal. I split an 11 inch pie with hubby. You can also get a 6 inch one person mini mod. The location is in a busy mall with tons of traffic. Great music, but the hard surfaces made me use my trusty ear plugs. There is a patio for dining outdoors once the weather warms. read more

I really like this place. It's affordable, it quick, and it has always tasted great. I like the fact you can put every single item basically on your pizza or your salad and it's the same cost. This adds lots of value over a basic pizza place that charges $1.50 per topping. The staff has always been nice. I'm looking forward to going in the spring or summer with some friends and hand on the patio and listen to some music. read more

Mad Dog pizza was great and MOD has beer too which, of course, goes well with pizza. Friend and I went to Sam's Club and on our way home we changed our mind from Raising Canes to MOD pizza because I remember another friend telling me it was good. My friend is going vegan and trying to eat healthier and MOD had just the toppings and he too liked his pizza. read more

* This review is from the Mod Pizza off Tates Creek Rd. I would give Mod Pizza a constellation if I could! Talking with the regional manager 'Nick" explained to me that the concept came from it's creator in Seattle, Scott Stevenson, who thought pizza was unhealthy and wanted something better for his kids. Well thank you Scott, Mod pizza is essentially build your pizza, as in Subway. However, their products contain NO MSG, artificial flavoring etc. Everything is FRESH, and all produce they use comes locally. Everything is natural. Cheese comes Wisconsin, they have a company makes their dough, which I think is gluten free. They won't even offer banana peppers, because they use yellow dye, I couldn't begin to list all the ingredients they offer. I think you'll be blown away when you see all the cheeses , toppings, meats, etc. As another reviews posted ... AMAZING, and its true. The other big bonus is that is NOT expensive, like some boutique pizza. I get the mini-pizza for $4.77 and I can get as much or as many toppings as I want. Enjoy!! read more

Not too many reviews here. I visited for the first time today, put me straight in the five star column. I saw where one guy here didn't like the pizza. Well, some people don't like a Neapolitan style pizza in the first place, so not everyone will like this. But I do, and I did. I dunno if this is the way it operates all the time, as I saw something about "pizza week," but the menu looked permanent, so here's how it went: you get in line, you tell 'em what you want on your pizza, you watch them make it in front of you, you pay, you wait for your pizza while getting your drinks, you go eat. There are a number of pre-designed pizzas or you can design your own from scratch, and the end product is the same price whatever you put on it. So here's what I did: I asked for a thin layer of red sauce. It's not particularly thick anyway, but I wanted it thinner, and got it. I had 'em put on some mozzarella, followed by chopped bay leaves, mushrooms, and seven pepperoni. Yes, I asked for seven pepperoni. I was after something specific, a well-balanced pizza without overtopping. Then it was diced tomatoes, another sprinkling of mozzarella, a dusting of parmesan, and into the oven it went. You can add stuff after as well, so I had them throw a bit more fresh basil on top. The end result was crazy delicious, one of the best I've had in quite some time. At least today, the price was $7.77 per pizza. I don't know if that's normal or a pizza week thing, but the bang for the buck is out of the park. I've had worse brick oven Neapolitan pizzas for twice the price in other places. My wife ordered one of the pre-designed pizzas and added sausage. Hers wound up topped a bit more heavily. The guy at the next table had a big, deep pile of toppings on his. They don't seem at all shy about giving you what you want, whether it's a thinly topped balanced pizza like mine or a deep cheesy pile like the guy at next table. I coulda had a salad too. That's pretty much it, pizza and salad, but I decided against it. One pizza by itself was plenty for lunch, or we could have had salads and shared a pizza. They also have Coke fountain drinks, Mexican Coke and Fanta, San Pellegrino, birch beer, and a few other choices. Nice selection. Wish I lived near one of these. It's gonna be a favorite on my Lexington trips. read more

Came with the family after hearing from our friends how good it was. My wife got the Tyler,pepperoni for my boys and I did a create your own(all the meats,pesto,extra cheese spices and some jalapeños with pesto drizzle after cooked) and I must say it was delicious. The dough was cooked perfectly and the crust was crispy. The staff was super friendly and helpful to explain how things worked. I would recommend sitting outside cause it tends to get a little noisy inside, which worked for us cause I had my three boys the youngest being two so it helped us not stand out to bad. They have a nice patio. After we were finishing up one of employees brought ice cream for our boys which was a nice treat. I will definitely be back in the future. read more

Edit: Oh wait...no. I cross contaminated the salad with meat. Yup! I saw some pepperoni and sausage in there folks. Crap. Well if I was vegetarian or vegan, I would hate myself. Almost as big of a mistake as putting sand in your potato salad. NEVER, HAVE SAND IN A POTATO SALAD! O_O I ended up getting a flyer in the mail for a buy one 11" pizza or salad and get one free. So this pizza place is like another version of Pie Five (hopefully, no one hates me for saying that). Basically, there are enough pizza places in Lexington and now these new "make-your-own-pizza" places are starting to pop up. I wonder if they have better pay for their employees because if they have to walk you down the toppings, it should count as extra labor. Places like Chipotle, Qdoba, Subway, Pie Five, and now this place. I ended up getting a loaded meat pizza of every kind of meat including seafood (anchovies) and I ended up getting near every vegetable topping on the salad. I decided to keep all the vegetables separate from the meats. read more

Okay this is a pizza place. A really great pizza place. You can get any toppings you like everybody is friendly, and the restaurant is clean. If it isn't too crowded it's a great place to sit and just enjoy the surroundings. Everyone is really enthused about the restaurant, and all of the employees seem to want you to enjoy yourself. Families are welcome, small children are accommodated well. The main thing about pizza is the crust. The crusts here are really really good. It's kind of a cracker crust but a little bit thicker than a regular cracker crust. The toppings are generous and if you want more or less they're very good about giving you exactly what you want. I highly recommend it. read more

This place is great! They have pizza! It has crust and cheese! And toppings too! The staff is actual people! You can eat pizza inside or outside! You can give them money! They will take the money and give you Pizza for it! Blown away by the concept of it all! 4 stars! They even have pepperoni! Wow! Pizza!, the only thing that was missing In Lexington! Can't wait to specifically eat this exact pizza again 4 or 5 more times! read more

Pizza was good but the help behind the counter was hurting for people skills and it would be fair to say rude. They act like I was there to serve them and then the plate was dropped on the counter top making an abrupt noise like there take it. Another couple I was eating near noticed the same problem. The guy outside (tall young blonde hair) from Idaho was super nice and actually went inside to address the problem. I'm from Atlanta and all the MOD locations I have ever been too are great! Hire some better people to serve you better if you can. read more

We had a medium Mad Dog pizza, and I have to say it exceeds all my expectations!! The crust was thin, the toppings were fresh, visible while being applied to the order, and they were delish!! The only addition I made to the original was mushroom. My guest ordered a beer, and I had a Black Cherry Soda, in bottle. The whole process from order to eating took about 25-30 minutes - most of that in the eating process. Now, I wish we had one in Grand Rapids. read more

Traveling from SC to Cincy. Needed a fast food but something different then the normal drive through yet caterers to food restrictions. Stopped in order a GF lg. cheese pizza, togo. Kids and I ate in car, losing less then 20 mins. Happy mom, happy kids!! Side note,, loved the venue! Fireplaces made it feel cozy and inviting. read more

MY FAVORITE PIZZA PLACE! ( And I love pizza ) Can't say enough good things about this place. First off, the price is right. Under $8 for one big personal pizza. I would say it takes around 10 minutes from ordering to eating. If you go to a fast food place your going to spend that plus, and the quality won't be the same. Secondly, the topping choices! The quality is better and they have more choices than similar restaurants. They serve milkshakes, beer and also have salads. Lastly, the atmosphere. The staff wear fun t-shirts with a mix of hats and bandanas. Over the soundsystem they play older music that you don't hear much anymore, such as the Ramones and Bowie. To top it off, I've never encountered a rude worker or an overly messy lobby. read more

Have been to Mod a few times and it has always been good. I like that you can customize a pizza to your liking for a nominal charge, no matter how many toppings you want. I like the thin crust and the toppings are fresh. Would definitely recommend! read more

Went in for 3 pizzas and a salad. Our salad was given away to the customers in front of us and told "its on us" when they realized they had made an error. I said ok well I'll take the same thing, because that was my salad. And the girl turned around, took her gloves off and refused to make the salad. I asked the girl next to her if she had refused to make it and when she said she had, we told them never mind, we would just leave. Absolutely awful, rude service. read more

Pleasantly, surprisingly delicious! First time eating here, looking for casual dining in Hamburg. Came because of other great yelp reviews. Did not disappoint. Fresh, super fast, and great outdoor patio. My husband is super picky about his pizza and he loved it. The bbq chicken pizza with spinach, ham and pineapple was fantastic. It would even be worth the drive out from town to enjoy. Patio is great for kids. We'll definitely be back. read more

We were told to go to this location by one of the employees to check it out! We were pleased and found that between the two stores the food is consistant fresh and very enjoyable! We have been back to this location already in a week. There is more seating for larger groups at this store vs the Tates Creek location. Good Pizza for a make your own pizza. I also think their salad choice is good. I like that they put your salad in a plastic bowl and will toss and mix it so that it coats evenly. Good choice in drinks especially their lemonades. For quick make your own pizza, I highly recommend this place. read more

Ate at MOD while traveling south. The 5 of us enjoyed our food! So delicious! After fresh! The flavors were fantastic. Portions good. Love the concept! 1 of 5 servers prepping the food were friendly/personable. Perhaps they had a long day too. I didn't expect chipper, but friendly and helpful are nice... especially when we're very new to the menu. If you say its ALL included, please don't throw shade when we ask for ALL the veggies. And, please listen to the questions being asked because I have allergies and just want to prevent being sick. I'm really not being difficult, I wish I didn't ask the questions too.
