Tried Mod Pizza for the first time last night. Made an online order around 8pm. When I got there, the place was slammed. I ordered the Mod special Carmen, a Mod create your own, and the Italian chop salad. Carmen had bacon, pesto, artichokes, jalapenos, spinach, mozzarella and feta. It was delicious! Pizzas were cooked very well with just the right amount of toppings and cheese. The crust was just how I like it, not too thick, not too thin. Mod size salad was big enough to share and packed with plenty of freshly prepared ingredients. Loved the romaine/arugula combo. The main reason I'm giving this location 5 stars is because of the staff. Everybody was getting their teeth kicked in, but the way they worked together in the assembly like manner was quite impressive. I've worked in restsurants before and know how miserable being that busy can be, but they all kept smiles on their faces and knocked it out. My pizza took a little longer than quoted online which didn't bother me one bit after seeing how busy they were. They still apologized for the wait and included a No Name dessert in my order, which I discovered after I got home. Good work, guys! Thank you! read more

7/5/16- Great visit today. I ordered a mini Mad Dog pizza (hot and cheesy)and a mini Caesar salad. So when they get out that 6" crust, you will immediately second guess that tiny decision, but it's PERFECT with a salad. The mini salad is not mini at all and I didn't quite finish it. I really liked the Caesar dressing. This was a second visit and it was much improved! -------------------------- First visit-Mod just opened, so they have some kinks to work out. The ordering process was a little slow, they forgot my extra pizza topping and the salad's croutons, but I'm sure when I return in a few weeks everything will be a-ok. Went with a group of about 15 people. Chose this location as it was centrally located. Great choice! We normally go to a different location as it is closer to home. However, the staff was super friendly and served us well. The food was excellent. Everyone's order as it was supposed to be and everything tasted great! As crazy as it sounds, I am not a huge pizza fan. I have 2 pizza places that I absolutely love, and I get pizza maybe 2 or 3 times a year. But after a meeting at work, a few coworkers wanted to head to Mod, and I said why not... Mod to me is basically like subway, but it's pizza. And they do it really well. The store is very clean, organized, and the employee's are all very friendly and pleasant. When you walk in you get in line, and can order off the menu or just customized whatever you want on your pizza. The best part- you can get as many or as little toppings you want at no extra cost. I love that. I ordered off the menu, I got the mod sized Dillon James (mozzarella, asiago, fresh chopped basil, garlic, sliced tomatoes, red sauce) and I also added pepperoni. For an 11 inch pizza with unlimited toppings it was around $7.50. And for me, it easily made two meals. They also have a mini pizza, which was I considering getting with a mini salad- but I am glad I just stuck to the pizza for my first time. After they create your pizza however you want it, you pay, they throw it into a pizza oven, and it's ready in less than 5 minutes. This is high quality, delicious, affordable pizza in a fast-setting. They totally know what they're doing. Of course, this isn't the 'best' pizza of my life, but for the setting, the price, and quality of "fast-food" pizza, I am very happy and will totally be back again. read more

After a few more visits, they've burned our pizza. I'd say this place's quality depends completely on whom is cooking the day of your visit . I called and complained , but was not offered anything . During our last visit it was really crowded and I didn't want to complain onsite. A few pieces of our pizza were edible, but the others were literally charred. This place is all about customization, and boy does it deliver. The options list is outstanding; with everything from sausage, chicken, and pepperoni to kalamata olives, Sriracha Sauce, and even brussel sprouts. The crust is thin and light. It has a little chew upon initial bite and delivers outstanding wood fired flavor. The price is great, super affordable. All of the staff was super friendly and the location is clean and welcoming. My husband has has celiac and MOD offers a Gluten Free crust pizza...YES, my husband LOVES it, but...at least 3 times now (we keep coming back with hopes management will train the employees proper ways to handle GF crust), we always have to watch and wait...because they do NOT change gloves, or they put it on the wrong crust all together!!! Had to wait over 30 minutes last time because of this and the employee knew I was upset because I walked out, I knew he messed up but again it's the manager that's needs to do better and train their employees MUCH BETTER!!! Ate in on September 1st and forgot to bring my mask. I asked for one and apologized that I forgot mine and the entire team of employees stared at me like I was an alien. I said I wasn't an anti-masker or anything and they all just stared at me and didn't say anything. I still gave them a tip and sat down and my table was extremely sticky so I asked the cashier if I could have a cloth to wipe my table down and she told me the cleaning solution they use leaves that sticky feeling and there is nothing we could do about it. This was our first time visiting MOD. It was busy and we had an about 10 minutes wait to order. Ingredients were fresh and pizza cooks fast. This place reminds me of Pie Five... with more choices of toppings. Look... if you can build a good pizza here, you have issues. Mine was a completely custom pizza... lots of meats and green olives. THE CRUST. Omg. I'm usually not a fan of a crispy crust but this one falls apart in your mouth. It is very cracker-like in texture in the best way. If you're deciding between MOD and Pieology (they are very similar in allowing you to select sauce and toppings, Subway style), pick MOD. Pieology in the St. Charles area has subpar staff that seems to be waiting for their next smoke break every minute and is just in general slow. MOD moved quickly and communicated hand-offs well. My only advice would be that their "standard" offerings on the menu are fairly uninspired. Next time we would definitely order a custom pie with some of the more interesting ingredients. Great concept, poorly executed. Never been before but decided to go here instead of an actual sit-down restaurant thinking it would be faster and easier...wrong. On a Friday evening there was a long line and on the other side of the counter two kids assembling the pizzas, Subway-style. The first guy asked us how many pizzas we were ordering and we told him 3, along with the names and sizes. Except apparently that's not how it worked because when he passed the dough to the girl next to him she started asking us what we wanted on the pizzas, one by one so we ended up having to repeat our order several times. I thought the first guy would've written the names of the pizzas we wanted on the paper along with whatever else he was writing on there or at least communicate with the girl next to him but nope. The guy seemed new and the girl seemed pissed off for whatever reason. Moving on... All the open tables were dirty so we sat outside. My husband's salad was forgotten and he spent several minutes looking for a bottle opener for his beer before finding out the girl at the cash register was supposed to open it for him. I was willing to overlook all this if the food was at least good enough to make up for it but sadly it wasn't. My pizza, "Dominic," was gooey in a way that pizza should never be. But the outer third of the crust was so burnt and bubbled that it was like a cracker and not even a good one. I ate the whole thing except the crust and left feeling nauseous and hungry. I didn't get a drink or a salad after seeing how much they were and good thing I didn't because it wouldn't have been worth it. It's terribly overpriced for what it is. It's slightly better than frozen pizza but honestly I regret not just going to Dominoes or Pizza Hut. I gave 2 stars because it wasn't a total disaster and the food was at least edible but I feel like I'm probably being overly generous. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

The music is super loud. Can't hear yourself think. I have to yell to talk to my son. The Caesar salad has a whole bunch of ends in it. If you like Caesarea for the spring mix. The water cups are puny. You have to constantly get up to get refills so grab two if you want water. Pizza is good if you build your own. read more
