To begin I understand how busy restaurants can get with online orders especially during this time. But I made an online order for two pizzas, wasn't able to enter in specialty instructions so I called the store and asked to get 4 ranches on the side and was told I'd receive it. For a soft opening weekend, this place has it on lock. So for those who don't know, MOD is a pizza and salad place with beer and wine. And milkshakes. And crushed ice for the sodas! It's a make to order pizza place. You can choose from a number of their classic selections, or make it your own. I chose the gluten free crust (yay!) and then you walk down the line and can add whatever sauces/toppings/herbs you want. FOR ONE PRICE. I did a half red sauce with pepperoni and a half pesto with chicken and then lots of vegs. Once it comes out of the oven, you can choose to finish it with a number of sauces. I normally really love MOD!! The employees at this location are really nice and helpful and the pizza is usually really good, but the last few times I've gone they've burnt my crust :( The crust is my favorite part of the pizza too, so it's pretty disappointing when I order take-out, get home, and then open it to find the crust so burnt it's completely black. If you're going to do take-out, I recommend checking your pizza before you leave. Or, better yet, maybe find a different pizza place. read more

I seriously want to love this place but I ordered a salad and had so little toppings on it. I ordered spring mix, chicken, blue cheese crumbles, basil, strawberries and balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered an entree size salad and it came in a big enough bowl but I didn't taste any basil or chicken. This salad was ordered through Door Dash so I wonder if it would have been the same small amounts if I was in person? It was really more like a dinner salad size. I really love this place. You can't beat the price or the fact that you are able to pick your toppings without getting charged extra. The people that work here are incredibly nice and sociable. My family and I love this place. The staff has always been super friendly and cheerful. It's in a great, popular location - which can kinda suck for parking on the weekends, but it's a good problem to be "too busy." The food is awesome, a bit pricey, but they say they use quality ingredients and if you really load up a pizza or salad, it's worth the price. I like getting a large salad and TONS of toppings. Best salad in Chico, if you ask me. The pizzas are thin crust, so if that's not your style, maybe go for a salad or find somewhere else. I don't get the point of the biggest pizza. It's not any wider, it's just two crusts. Such a weird concept and totally not my thing, but I guess others love it. The medium sized pizzas are still small for big eaters like me, but that's where the ginormous salad comes in to play. The shakes are thick and delicious. I tried this place last week with my very vegan best friend and my super carnivorous boyfriend. We all LOVED it! There are so many options no matter what your eating habits are. I pick out what I would like from a huge selection of fresh ingredients (the gal suggested roasted garlic, I did it and now I am hooked!!) and it was cooked so fast I was shocked. The owner was friendly and talkative! We decided to get a beer and when the owner realized it was my hubby's birthday he gave us our beers for free. This place is put together right, lots of seating, fun clean environment and very nice smiling employees. As a somewhat picky eater, I like the concept of this place, everything is customizable. Pick a salad or pizza, pick your size, then add as many or few toppings you want for a single price. I ordered a 6" mini pizza and then added 3 meats, two cheeses, and a few veggie toppings. It was exactly what I wanted so what's not to love. Their crust is thin, which I like and allows them to get the food out quickly. They offer gluten free crust and dairy free cheese. No thick crust options that I saw. Mod has been a good place to eat at but I recently had a bad experience with a worker. I had ordered my food online and got there to the pick up line and asked for my food by name and so did my friend. The worker takes our names and instantly ignores us. We waited there in front of him for five more minutes no response. We then sat down for another 20 minutes where I get the urge to ask for my food again because a bunch of orders are getting dished out. He then proceeds to pull my order from behind him and says nothing. I asked if it had been ready and he said yes. I honestly felt completely disregarded by the worker the first time i approached which is why I feel like he didn't check for my order to begin with, it was ready the whole time. To top it off my pizza was cold after the wait I was very unhappy with my experience this day. read more

Yes, you can make your own pizza, choose topping me but I like to choose off the board and the one I always liked to order is no longer up on the board. They say they have dairy free options and will work around allergies, but couldn't even make sure that a pizza did not have cheese on it (due to a bad allergy). The girl flat out refused. Looks like it's time to stop advertising dairy free options (hint: cheese is considered dairy). I saw them put at least 15 pizzas in the oven while standing online, not once did they clean the counter that they put the pizzas in as they wait to get them in the oven.
