I was contacted for my address to obtain a gift card so I could give the location another chance. My boyfriend and I loved the pizza so much we were so down. We ordered two separate times this weekend. Once at 7pm on Saturday and again on Sunday at 5pm. Our first order was perfect, we ordered online, got to the store- and they greeted us as we walked in. Our order was completed and the staff was great! Our food was delicious as it was before. Really great! On Sunday, we ordered by phone at 5pm ish. The girl on the phone wasn't the friendliest, but that's my humble opinion. "Ya." "Ok." And "bye." Shouldn't be conversation key points while speaking with a customer on the phone. We ordered a Mod Max (I believe), the one with 2-11 inch crusts and I wasn't thrilled. The pizza wasn't evenly assembled, and didn't taste super great. Can't knock'em for my poor topping choices but it was weird eating a double crust pizza that wasn't stacked evenly. Sunday night wasn't impressive but that's how it is a most restaurants...a hit and a miss. I'm very grateful Mod Pizza sent us that gift card to give them a second shot! First time here since we needed a quick dinner on our way up north so we stopped at MOD on a Tuesday night around dinner time. Service was super friendly and efficient. I had the gluten free pizza with my own veggie toppings and vegan cheese and my husband had a regular pizza. We both really enjoyed our pizzas and for my gluten and dairy free dietary needs this was one of the better pizzas I've had. I also love the unlimited toppings. Reasonably priced and customizable. I definitely think this is one of the better quick food options around, especially for dietary needs and quality for the price. read more

After seeing all the rave reviews at the other locations in Austin, I was excited for this Mod Pizza to open close to home. I went opening day and there was a line out the door. Mod Pizza was offering a free pizza for the first 52 customers and donated 100% of proceeds to the Austin Children's services. While waiting in line they gave out milkshake samples, the vanilla was pretty good. The line moves very fast and I waited less then 5 minutes for my order. For those of you not familiar with MOD Pizza they serve up at 11 inch pie at a set price of $7.47 no matter how many toppings you choose. They also make mini pizzas that are about 1/2 the size. You can order one of their signature pizzas or opt to build your own. Bonus they list the nutritional information on the signature pizzas and salads (the mini maddy is a mere 333 calories). I ordered the Dillon James with mozzarella, asiago, fresh chopped basil, sliced tomatoes and MOD red sauce. The crust was nice and crispy, the sauce not too sweet and I loved the fresh tomatoes and gooey cheeses. They also serve salads, desserts, beer and wine on tap. The employees were very upbeat and the manager personally greeted customers. The Mod team made everyone feel welcomed to include a huge great dane on the patio. The patio is dog friendly so I will definitely be back with the pup and enjoy pizza & vino on the patio. read more

Terrible food. Ordered through the mobile app today for dinner and first asked for the ranch in the side of both pizzas and they didn't follow. Second the dough tasted old on both pizzas and mine I got a plant based sausage pizza and something on my pizza got me sick. I still like Mod but taking one star off because today was pretty disappointing. It was my 4th time there and my pizza wasn't cooked enough. It wasn't hot, the cheese wasn't melted all the way and my garlic still hard. Normally my crust is crispy and brown but this was the opposite-very doughy and raw-like. Not like it was busy and rushed either it was only me and one other family in there. I also saw flies on all of the meat toppings, not just flying around but actually landing on the meat. Considering this was my first bad experience I will probably still come back because my guess is it was just an off day or the worker who helped me wasn't as good maybe. Love their pizza but for the 3rd time they have failed on their timing. Whatever data they use to determine their estimate is wrong and getting worse. We've ordered curbside. 1st time it was off by 10 minutes, 2nd 20, and 3rd over 30 minutes. Since we ordered online, we've already paid. So it makes it more difficult to cancel. I have loved their pizza, but today was the worst experience of my life. A patron thought it was a good idea to bring their dog through the food service line. None of the staff did anything about it. They even petted the dog. (Disgusting) When I brought it to the staffs attention that this is against Texas health code, they proceeded to be rude to me. Really? I'm not a huge pizza fan like my hubby because I'm very particular about the crust but my husband loves pizza! I was on my way to store when I decided to go try it here since I'm yelp everyone says it's so good! And I love the idea of being able to customize your own pizza and crust! And they even have gluten free and cauliflower crust.They also have the app so you can earn rewards for free pizza or salad! I got the Lucia pizza 11 inch which is pretty big for one person I had to take it home to my husband.It was so good and I really love the crust!! they make it in an open oven so it gets the darker crust on the edges.The Lucia has ricotta,a spicy red sauce and cheese and basil and pepperoni! I added artichoke and garlic and more basil since I'm Italian I have to put garlic on everything! They also off dipping sauces for your crust so I chose buffalo sauce and more pesto! If you want good pizza, save it for papa Johns next door, dominoes down the street, or frozen from HEB. Any brand.... There was no one behind me, yet I was rushed at every step. They asked if I've been there before, so I told them no. It seems the intention of that question was to see if they needed to - as absolutely quickly as possible - explain the process. I did not come close, at any point, to feeling that their purpose was to gain a regular customer by impressing me. Not even remotely! One of the selling points i had read about was unlimited toppings, so I asked for double cheese. Incredibly laughable!!!!! On this 11" pizza, she put approximately 1/8 cup of cheese on it. What is worse is she, as quickly as possible, tried to rush the pizza from the prep table to the oven before I could notice. I said "excuse me, I wanted extra cheese" She said "I already put extra cheese. Did you want more?" (Common sense tip - If I mention I wanted extra cheese, that's your hint that I'm not satisfied with the amount of cheese you put on it) So I said "yes please." No joke. Seriously, she full on palmed the entire cheese bowl, then (like the toy claw machine) dropped all but literally a pinch, and sprinkled it on top. Not only is this insulting my intelligence, but it is frustrating. I got a second pizza, and it went pretty much the same way. Now, why would they intentionally behave this way? Either... 1. They are trained to do this to save money. This would be seriously disappointing. 2. This particular employee doesn't have common sense. For the past 2 years, I've been to this location time and time again and loved not only the pizza but the environment and the employees, none of which seem to have stayed. Sad to see them go, hope they are doing well, but since those fellas haven't been here it's been all downhill. This is the 3rd time this month that either my pizza was incorrect, or completely botched. I was introduced to the whole idea of this through Pieology in Cedar Park but I think this place does a much better job with their ingredients and the cooking of their pizza. We came in for dinner and saw that there was a line, but it moved quickly and we ended up waiting no more than 5 minutes. Although I have to say, despite their efficiency it really seemed like the people working there really hated it. I ordered a MOD sized pizza which I felt was the perfect size and I ended eating the whole thing! The pizza crust was nice and crispy and not all that greasy which I really appreciated. First time trying out MOD pizza, heard great things unfortunately the hype is not real. Don't get me wrong the BBQ chicken was 6.5 out of 10. Would've been a 7 if the service was nice. 3 out of the 4 employees working were horrible (no bed side manner) the girl who took my order was rude, did not smile once. Honestly felt like it was an inconvenience being there. I don't know if it's bad management but the establishment seemed very unhappy & unkept. The soda fountain was broken. An employee had to manually scoop out ice for customers. no eye contact, not even a "hi how's your day" zero smiles, zero eye contact) Definitely go to an different location! I really like this place and enjoy the pizza. The simple concept is really cool and i think a great business model. Last night was a disappointment. Ordered two drinks with our meals. We were given two cups and when we got over to the drink area there is a sign that says "sorry we're out of ice" 1. We should have been told before we paid for drinks. 2. As a few others have said, the employees here have a rushed attitude. Also, after my visit, I believe that their integrity could use improvement. I have been to other MOD locations and have had great experiences, but that wasn't the case here. I ordered a pizza with Daiya the dairy free cheese option and since I have ordered this at other MODs, I know how it looks and tastes. They gave me something else (from the end of the line, pulled out of the cooler, just like Daiya--so I had no reason to suspect) and it wasn't Daiya. After how I felt following the meal, I don't believe it was dairy free, either. Another person on the line was absolutely unable to follow instructions. I specifically asked for a few pieces of a certain topping and this employee put an entire handful. This also happened with another pizza in our order, the person put an entire handful of topping on what was meant for another pizza. Usually, MOD Pizza is my favorite make-your-own pizza place, but I will not be returning to this location. I value quality over quickness and quantity. read more

MOD Pizza is the place to be! I enjoy going here for dates or for outings with friends and family. The atmosphere is spacious, laid back, and welcoming. Yesterday, I dined there and decided to eat pizza (they do have other options such as salads or sides.) There are pre-set speciality pizzas to choose from or you can choose to customize your own. Three sizes are offered - a mini 6 in. sized pizza, a regular 11 in. sized pizza, and a mega sized pizza which is double 11 in. crusts. Normally, I like to order the mini sized pizza and customize it. When we were waiting for our order yesterday, it was taking longer than usual. I didn't say anything about it, but an employee stated that the brick oven "ate your pizza" so they were making me another one. They gave me the original one, which was burnt on the bottom (but edible) which I guess is what they meant by the brick oven "ate" it. However, I told them it was no big deal and they hooked it up and gave me another identical mini sized pizza to go for the inconvenience. Seriously, I was impressed with their honesty and their great, unprompted customer service. The pizza here is delicious and the customer service is great too. The first time I dined at MOD was in Seattle, WA. The second time and thereafter has always been at this 620 location & I will definitely return. Thanks MOD for a positive experience. read more

I think I'd easily be the Duke here with how often I bring my family. We've probably averaged about a visit per week for the last two years! This is one of our go to neighborhood joints for fast, artisan food, friendly service, casual atmosphere, great price (less than $30 for a family of 4 WITH a beer!), and kid-friendly options. There's a playground nearby, which makes it a great option to tire the kids out before bed ;-) Their ingredients are fresh and the sauce is tasty. Ambience - This place has a very unconventional vibe going which is actually pretty cool. It is very much like FreeBirds, employees dressed casual, normal music playing ( not that elevator crap ) and they dont have to hide their tattoos and piercings.Yay! Anyways, the decor is pretty standard for new modern stores, they have a big back wall with blown up pictures of guests and employees. The kitchen is open and you can see everyone and everything that is going on. Store was very clean when i got there. Menu - Like most chains like this, it is a build your own pizza buffet line style where you can chose whatever you want with all that you want. The selection of toppings, sauces, cheeses, meats and extras is pretty top notch. They cover all the basics ( obviously, otherwise this would be a very strange pizzeria ) and also have some very nice elevated items as well. Never seen this before but they even have brussel sprouts.... you know.... in case you wanted to ruin something. But hey its there if......your weird. The selection of toppings is a good and varied range of items. They have 3 types of pizza you can get which is the regular, mini and the MOD (which is just 2 crusts to make it a non thin crust pizza). And if you dont trust yourself with selecting the proper toppings they have a large predetermined pizza menu. I mean its hard to mess up a pizza but there are temptations out there you might want to add out of curiosity......like brussel sprouts..../shivers. You can also make a salad pizza, which is exactly what it sounds like, salad on a crust! Yay for innovation. They do also carry a nice selection of beverages like soda, teas, lemonades, bottled beverages and even beer on draft. Service - Top Notch. When i walked in i was greeted by multiple employees. As soon as i got to the menu the young girl asked if i had been here before and i responded no. And then she went on to explain the whole process and every aspect of the creation of my food. She was extremely friendly and helpful, and guess what? She had lots of facial piercing! HERETIC! WITCH! People with those things cant be human! Ugh calm down grandma. I also saw another employee with her hat backwards and she had several tattoos. Yet while i sat and ate these 2 employees were honestly some of the friendliest employees i have seen. They cut the pizza only into fourths thou, nothing bad just unusual i guess. This is 'Merica, we cut it into eighths, guess this is part of the lets be different vibe. Anyways. The pizza was really good, there wasnt an abundance of sauce or cheese and you could taste the toppings. The quality of the toppings where very good. The crust on the bottom was cooked right, as there wasnt an excess of black carbon to pollute my soul... i mean heart. It was a good quality sausage and pepperoni. And surprisingly i could taste the corn, which normally i cant, i just get it for aesthetics and hope that i can taste it. I love corn. So that was super awesome. Only down side to the taste of my pizza was the standard cheese. It is the elementary quality that we got as kids in school. I mean it isnt bad but it is also a very basic cheese. I get it thou since cheese is expensive and they use a lot. But otherwise it was a really good personal pizza. I had a great ratio of toppings that i could taste everything and nothing was lost. Definitely would recommend. OVERALL - This place was pretty awesome, this location in particular. I saw people coming and going the entire time i was there. Saw several regulars and chatted with the team. Crew members were very friendly and helpful. Thank you to the young lady with the piercings for genuinely explaining the process. Leaving this review because it's personally annoying that I always confuse this place with the much better Blaze Pizza. Red flag #1 was the off-site phone ordering service. The lady had no idea what items were actually available in-store since she wasn't there, and her menu was totally different than the official online website. Very awkward. Next, the product. Thin pizza, overpriced, nothing special. Always underwhelming. The staff? So the store layout is bad and it took me a while to understand where I was supposed to pick up my pizza. So I walk to the sign that says pick up and stand there staring straight at this fat guy for probably ten minutes while he angrily packed to go orders and ignored me. I kid you not, I stood there for at least ten minutes staring at this guy while he ignores me, and I assume he's getting around to mine so I remain patient. Turns out mine had been sitting on the counter getting cold the entire time I was in the store. No one bothered to acknowledge me until I asked where my food was, and no one seemed to notice how wrong it was that my food was right in front of them yet they had let me stand there for so long. Lots of places have younger staff, but I sat around waiting looking from person to person and the vibe was neither friendly nor customer oriented. So in closing, I only write this review to steer you towards Blaze Pizza. The staff is amazing and the pizza is so much better. read more
