It seems like that the quality of bread, veggies, and meat is very high and delicious. I've lived in LA and SF, but I have never seen the price this affordable and delicious. I got the Italiano Sub and the Grilled Vegetable Panini. All were impeccable and had generous portion sizes. The workers are amazing and gentle as well (good looking as well!)! Why do the sandwich's taste like meat bricks? The actual worst lunch meat I've ever had. Slimy and nasty. Stop using this cheap meat and charging max prices. Find some Boar's Head and put it in them sandwiches for those prices. read more

straightforward, no frills cafeteria with legit sandwiches. I work on Swan Island, so it's handy to grab lunch here during the weekday. Prices are a little on the higher end for what you get -but they are well made. Seems like an honest, mom and pop business. Dagwood is a favorite and I recently had their Reuben. It was hot, gooey and melty, but stayed intact while eating during an awkward meeting with my bosses boss. I also tried their Baked Potato Soup to go with the Reuben - really nice soup, plain and simple. Complimentary crackers added. $7-8 bucks a sandwich. Fountain sodas. Close at 3pm I think. Great little cafe on Swan Island. It's a little deeper in the island but well worth the little drive. The service is super fast and friendly. They offer a lot of different items from sandwiches to teriyaki. I can say that all of their offerings that I have had are super solid. The line can get a little long at times but they are quick to get you fed and back to work! I highly recommend this place for anyone on lunch on Swan. read more

Great service! Fast, inexpensive, consistent, and decent food. I order online and my work is a 3-min walk away so it's super convenient for me. Also online there's a space for special requests and they're always able to accommodate my requests and go above my expectations. Example: I had asked for less chicken/cheese in my salad because the first time I ordered it, I got too much chicken in my salad. So second time ordering it, I requested "light on chicken and cheese please I just love veggies" and so they gave me less chicken and cheese but also gave me extra veggies not usually included in the caesar salad (cucumber, tomato, avocado, spinach)! To me, that's beyond what a cafe should do. (Again, wrote this in the comments/requests section on the payment page). Anyway - great place for those who work close by. If you're coming from off Swan Island for this place... You may be disappointed? Hope they can have more vegetarian/vegan options in the future! read more

Grilled pastrami & swiss sandwich, cucumber salad just like my Mom used to make, potstickers with a wonderful dipping sauce, (that, although I don't eat spicy food, I put up with the burn because it's so good!), and a brownie big enough for 2 (not that I'm going to share, mind you!) Very fast service like others mentioned. I can't say the food quality is all that great but if you work or frequently travel to the island this is a nice easy spot to grab some grub. They do boxed lunches and have a myriad of food selections but nothing really stands out. I go there mostly for the convenience. The last time I came here I ordered a meatball parmagiana sandwich. They asked if I wanted onions, and I said "of course!". Sandwich tasted good but the onions were raw. That was a bit of a downer, I was expecting some nice cooked onions but that's not the reason for the 3 stars. That's because there isn't anything special about the place. read more

For some reason my previous review got filtered which makes me mad as this gem of a café deserves some good reviews. I really like the sandwiches on the delicious rosemary focaccia bread. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile, and against advice from coworkers, I decided to give it a shot today. BIG MISTAKE. I have never felt less welcome at a business than I did today. The lady behind the counter was friendly enough, and the food was decent, but the man working (I'm assuming a manager or an owner) was very rude. We came to eat before the lunch rush, and there was only a couple of us dining at the time which made it a perfect opportunity for the man to wipe down the tables. Only when he got to our table and we were busy eating, he was unable to wipe it down--he stared at us awkwardly and sighed as he walked away. Then, after finishing our meal, we bussed our own table (which I assumed was the norm), but I was quickly told by the man, as he ran out from the back, that I wasn't doing it correctly and "next time" I should use a different, larger garbage can. I told him I was sorry about the mistake, but not to worry, there won't be a "next time". He followed us out the door and watched us leave. This is NOT the way you run a business, and definitely not the way you spread "positive word of mouth" around the island. I won't be returning. And I will tell my friends not to either. read more

Lunch for under 6 bucks. But its not like the value deal at fast food places. Mocks is amazing at putting together quality food for a good price. It's like mom making tasty healthy food and just the right serving size. I eat there several times a week because of the variety. Panini on focaccia they bake themselves, complete cold and hot sandwich selection, and several varieties of teriykai. They also have meal and side salads ready to grab and go. I would only eat at this place if I was starving. The local business employees seem to like it though it may be because of the proximity and isolation. It's the only food place nearby so I guess it's convenient. The sandwiches are made of boring cheap white bread with usual ingredients, nothing special. You can probably make a better sandwich at home. Salads are just plain lettuce and a bottled dressing. The hot sandwiches are the cold ones put on a greasy griddle. They also make some other foods like Chinese or other Asian hot dishes and have soups. I haven't tried any of it because it just didn't look appetizing. read more

Small local Deli on Swan Island that has a friendly staff, is clean and has good food. Everything is made to order and fairly quick especially if you order and pay online. The Dagwood club is my favorite but there are many meals that are good too. I feel that this place gets all of its business based on its location. Here on swan island we can be isolated for a quick lunch. They do offer a good breakfast, but their lunch is just deli meat on bread. Almost everything if not the entire menu you can order here is pre-made. Our office eats here occasionally just because it is so close and other places are far in comparison, but if you have the choice I would shy away from this place. Even if it is quick and convenient it is not going to be comparable to anywhere else. They do have good customer service and hot breakfast items. I feel that if they offered a better menu and lower prices people would visit the place more frequently. read more

Mocks is one of the only places to eat on Swan Island and we use them to cater last minute lunches often. The food is always good and fresh, the building is clean and the staff is very friendly. Wow. Just amazingly bad. They use deli meat for everything. I ordered a wrap and my friend ordered the Teriyaki chicken. The wrap was just plain horrible, like the kind of "food" you are served on a cheap red-eye flight. The chicken Teriyaki though, that is where this place really shined. They took a chunk of deli meat, you know the kind you slice with a slicer? Well they cut it into strips to resemble the way a normal chicken breast would look cut into strips then made the Teriyaki dish out of that. It was so unbelievably shoddy we both tried it and just couldn't get over it. It was like a salt lick covered in brown salt sauce. I would never go back here, not even as a joke - which this place is. read more

Sooooooo disappointed. After pondering where to eat lunch I chose this place for a French Dip Sandwich. How can you go wrong with that? VERY minimal roast beef, no cheese, and for $6.00 no pickle, a few chips or nothing. Would have rather eaten at Subway and that's not saying much. read more
