Finally checked this place out! I love bubble tea, Korean hot dogs and donuts so this seemed like a good fit. First of all, this place is so cute inside. They have a nice photo op wall, everything looked very clean, and everything also looked delicious. We got 6 donuts: Milk Pebble, 2 Strawberry Funnel, Oreo, Reese's and Nutella. I can only review the 'Strawberry Funnel' because that's what I actually ate so far. It was delicious. It was moist, soft, and had great flavor. It tasted exactly like a funnel cake. I also got a Guava bubble tea. The bubble tea was $5.99 which is a good price for bubble tea but it's in a much skinnier container than I am use to for that price and it was good but definitely not the best I've ever had. My husband and I also tried the Korean hot dogs here. We both got the half and half one - half hot dog, half mozzarella and I could live on these! SOOOO good! AKA Donut District on grubhub, I wish I could have seen these reviews before ordering. So as you can see from all the pictures and reviews here, we have corndogs and weird looking donuts. The donuts are all the same base with different glazes and frostings and whatnots. The balls look like they would pull apart, but they don't. Also, the batter is oddly chewy. Just not really a great donut. Then you have corndogs. I didn't know it, but the ones that say cheese mean they replace the hotdog with cheese. So its just cheese and batter. Yea, not so great. I enjoyed the potato corndog, but the ratio of potato/batter to hotdog was not the best. I don't know, maybe I'm just not a corndog guy. Overall, not for me. When I first went there, I saw on Google that it was open at 8 am. I didn't bother checking anywhere else because I wanted to have my breakfast at Mochinut and was too hungry to think more clearly. After checking on Yelp only now, I see the hours of operation are set at 12 to 6 pm. My 8 AM experience was the following: 1. I entered to see only two people working 2. The person at the front was friendly, but they did not speak fluent English, so I had trouble making my order 3. There was a limited selection to choose from, so I only got an original Mochinut 4. The Mochinut was tasty; I just wish I could have had a chance to savor the boba coffee at the time This time, I decided to order pickup through Grubhub at 12 pm: 1. There was a bigger selection. I ordered an original hot dog, 3 mochinuts (red velvet, churro, and matcha), and a Thai tea. 2. When I arrived, the place definitely felt more like a normal small-serve restaurant 3. The frontend person spoke fluent English 4. The register is manned by 1 person only, so you may have to wait for them to finish with another customer before you can approach 5. The food was good, and it was wrapped in a way that made it easy to carry through the rainy day Some caveats: The menu doesn't match entirely with the franchises. You won't be able to get soft serves (at least through Grubhub, though it's most likely the original menu). I don't know if this is a seasonal restriction or if it's just this location. Recommendations: My recommendation is to primarily order through Grubhub (delivery and pickup) or https://www.mochinut.com/onlineorder (pickup only). If you can shell out a few extra dollars, delivery might be the more convenient option. read more

We were headed to a different Mochinut establishment however, it was an extra 40 minutes away from where we were so when I searched this one came up as 20 minutes away so we decided to take the trip. I am so glad we did. It's pretty hidden, especially because the name of the place did not match the yelp. We were searching for "Mochinut" but only found donut district so we were a tad bit confused. I'm so glad we still went to explore because its a cute little spot. We ordered 6 donuts that were all phenomenal. My favorite was the fruit pebbles one and cookie and cream. They were so fluffy. As if I didn't need another excuse to burn through my wallet! Love this place. They always have a wonderful & fresh variety of the mochi donuts as well as the Korean corn dogs. I've tried their brown sugar boba too and it was YUMMY. The employees are always so friendly and warm whenever I visit. Shocked is the only way how to describe how I am after (trying) to eat the two donuts my mom spent $11 on. Both donuts were completely soggy with oil (like a sponge!!!) , to the point the oil dripped down my hands and the donuts fell apart in my hands. Had to wash my hands twice to get the oil off. Nothing like biting a donut and getting a mouth full of burnt oil with an acrid taste. The black sesame was just white chocolate with sesame seeds. Milk pebble had no flavor. I was very excited to see that this location finally opened as I was checking the website everyday for updates. There's plenty of parking space outside. There's a lot of different flavors that they offer for Mochinut and my favorite one was the matcha. I prefer the potato corn dogs over the Cheetos corn dogs as the Cheeto flavored corn dog was not that good. As with most of these types of dessert shops, it does get quite expensive. read more

Love the new location! I would travel to the Edison location for the rice dogs and donuts for months but this new location is so much closer to my home. The staff was super helpful and kind. My friend and I arrived 40 minutes before closing, ordered two identical meals--crispy ramen half & half, two mochi donuts, and a bubble tea each--to dine in. The front desk girl took forever to process our orders, putting them in separately, so we waited over 15 minutes for our drinks. With just 10 minutes left, we realized one of our hot dogs was missing. After informing the girl, she apologized and said it would be right out. Finally, with 5 minutes left, a boy brought out the hot dog and had the nerve to say, 'We're closing in 3 minutes,' then walked away. I was recommended to try these "more than just a donut" from my friend. I went to the Manalapan location even though I am 45 minutes away because my friend said they were worth the drive. She did not lie! When I got there, the staff greeted me and were very friendly. The person who helped me wasn't very informative though which was disappointing. I explained it was my first time and none of the donuts were labeled so I had questions. He seemed a bit annoyed that I didn't know what they were by sight but he wasn't rude about it. There was plenty of different flavors to try. I decided I want to get a variety. 6 pc was $18 and change. I got the glazed, raspberry, matcha, fruity pebbles, Oreo and funnel cake. The best way to describe this donut is very light and airy. It reminds me of funnel cake. Like if someone took funnel cake batter and just made it into a donut shape and covered it in frosting. I have had mochi before and I wouldn't say it's anything like that. If you like funnel cake you will like this! It is very sweet, which I don't mind. The matcha has a subtle matcha flavor. I don't taste raspberry at all on the raspberry one. The fruity pebbles one was probably my least favorite because I didn't get fruity pebbles taste. The Oreo one was very good. I think the winner for me though was funnel cake. It wasn't overly sweet and reminded me of the boardwalk. I will definitely go back to try the other flavors! read more

D disappointed that is not gluten free. When I first saw the sign I expected MOchi being rice flour. But when I opened up the nutritional menu, it had wheat flour as well. So those that are celiac or gluten intolerant cannot enjoy! Maybe change the recipe so celiacs can enjoy as well! read more

This place was fantastic. In an area that is severely lacking in modern asian options for food, I was very impressed by Mochinut. We stopped by last week and grabbed a few donuts, some corndogs and boba. The donuts were delicious, crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside, our favorite was the milk pebble. As for corndogs, we had the ramen and hot cheeto. The ramen was quite good with the sweet chili sauce but the hot cheeto was so delicious we got a second to go. Boba was also pretty good. Call me a Karen, but yes this was in fact the establishment I visited. I am not sure what cameras you looked at nor what you saw but I do in fact know how I was treated. I have worked many positions and never have I ever talked about a customer nor yelled at them the way I was. I will not delete my review as everyone has there own opinions as well as experiences.
