Old world Italian bakery in a long narrow strip mall. Excellent fresh pastries including some of the best cannolis (freshly filled in crunchy shells). Also enjoyed the lobster tails, cookies and biscotti. Counter staff are amiable and helpful- still use the old school string wrap machine on bakery boxes. Will continue to come back. read more

Nobody does it like Amici. Amici is the best Italian bakery around and everything we've tried is heavenly. My family's go-to spot for cakes, pastries, breads, and especially cannoli's! They have amazing cookies year-round, spectacular cakes, holiday specialties, Irish soda bread during St. Patty's, etc. The staff is so nice and helpful when I come in asking questions and gives me great suggestions that have led me to find my favorites! Their tiramisu is genuinely the best I've ever had, and their cannolis are AMAZING. The filling is perfectly flavored and creamy and the bite is so satisfying and delicious... Worst experience ever!!!! Poorest customer service, I ordered a cake with custard and strawberry inside!!! Did not get strawberries and the cake was not how my daughter wanted!!! We texted pictures of how we wanted the cake and chatted with someone from the bakery about the cake. They respond when they wanted to , left us hanging. Ruined my daughter's birthday!!! Maybe they had their glorious days, but not anymore! Location: in a small plaza, lots of parking. Very easy to find. Food: I came in there looking for a good lobster tail. Read many reviews and decided to give it a try. When arrived, an old couple was on their way out and recommended so many different pastries to me. They were so sweet and I decided to buy few more things. Ended up spending $19 for 6 items and was very excited. Got home, made a cup of black tea and was ready to dig in. The lobster tail had decent filling but the pastry was not crispy. The cannoli is where I give the stars. It was creamy and crispy. The other pastries were all no good. The hazelnut one tasted very artificial, and the raspberry one was super sweet. The unknown one was a blur to me. Did not make an impression. Service: the young servers were very attentive Price: $3 each on average. I would buy the cannolis again for sure! I went in this weekend to get some pastry's for company I was having, the girls there were very welcoming and respectful. The owner came out and started barking orders and screaming at the girls to get stuff from the back while she was in the middle of taking my order. I could barely hear her or keep her attention. it was quite alarming to see an older man treat a younger girl that way in a family owned place. This place was relatively small that was part of a strip mall. There was a good selection from cookies to pastries to breads. The staff was friendly and helpful with making decisions. The prices were also very reasonable. Below is what I tried and a thought on each. Prosciutto Bread - This was very good. There was a fair amount of prosciutto pieces in the bread. The bread was soft, but not too soft. Tortoni - I could not believe they had this!! These are rare to find nowadays. It tastes exactly like a toasted almond as one would imagine. It was very good, no complaints at all!! Donuts - I had a chocolate icing, Boston crème, and jelly donut. All were of appropriate size. I am not usually a fan of Boston crème donuts, but for some reason with this, I was a fan. I think the crème was not too overpowering. The jelly donut also had cinnamon sugar on top, which went well with the jelly filling. Will I go back? Easily. read more

Read the reviews and decide to give it a try as I was craving Eclairs. I don't understand if we picked all the wrong items as everything we bought tasted absolutely awful. The eclairs were the Worst , smelly raw eggy custard filling. The pastry had dry hard cake layers with a artificial cough syrup tasting icing. The mouse had a very off , strong and stale taste. Received a coupon in our neighborhood magazine so we decided to give it a try. W ordered the tiramisu, lobster tail, eclairs, strawberry cheesecakes, this Italian pastry filled with fluffy cream, chocolate cake, and amaretto cake. The lobster tail is comparable to that of Carlos bakery. It's light and crispy and not heavy. Out favorite was the Italian pastry filled with a light fluffy cream. The amaretto cake was quite tasty with a light taste of amaretto. The cheesecake wasn't to our liking and neither was the eclair. We found the eclair to be a bit too heavy for a dessert. One thing I wish they had in the display case is the name of the cookie/cake as well as the price. I had to keep asking the ladies what each thing was considering I'm not of Italian decent so I wasn't familiar with many of their desserts. Other than this, great tasting desserts and I definitely would like to go back to try the other items. read more

WOW! Am I glad I found this place! I had the BEST hamantaschen I've tasted in 37 years on earth here yesterday. The cookie wasn't to dry, and there was so much delicious jelly in the center... really just amazing. Then I had the best Italian rainbow cookie I've ever had. Things were really looking great for my box. I tried the carrot cake, and they make it exactly the way I don't like it- very light sponge with no nuts or raisins/craisins and a thin, sweet frosting. I gave it a shot anyway and I finished the whole slice! Still not the way I like it, and I won't order it again, but extremely tasty. I'm 100% sold on this place. Not only that, but Bella Italia is in the same plaza, and was also excellent, so I can get to 2 shops real quick and be 100% satisfied. Awesome. read more

The pastry and cake selection looks nice and to be fair, everything is beautifully displayed. The girl at the counter who helped me was also super sweet and helpful. The pastries, although beautiful, were too sweet and not what I was expecting. The Napoleon was made with puff pastry layers and whipped cream. I prefer the ones made with velvety custard. My husband likes the (non-traditional) ones made with nuts. He was looking forward to the nuts but of course there weren't any. The amoretta was too sweet. It only tasted like a very sweet cake mixed with even sweeter cream and then when I cut into with a fork, it became one big mushy sweet mess. I couldn't taste any other flavors in it other than sugar and cream and I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. The cookie with sprinkles and thin jam was buttery and pretty good. I may try some of their other stuff next time. Maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff. read more

I have often times ordered random pastries not knowing what they are, and have been pleasantly surprised by their balanced flavor choices and masterful baking skills. I'd highly recommend anything with a custard or cannoli filling. Their custard has a subtle sweetness, providing a smooth and delicate complement for their decadent icings and toppings. My personal favorites are their Mille feuille, sfogiatelle with cannoli filling, and their seasonal donuts. I hope to come back here to try their cake selection for special occasions! Came here because of the stellar reviews but decided to leave a review since my overall experience and baked goods were disappointing. They had nothing I wanted by the slice, everything that looked worthy of purchasing was an entire pie or cake which was more than my small family could eat. I ended up buying a carrot cake slice, a cheesecake slice, and large M&M cookie. Everything except the cheesecake was thrown in the garbage. The goods were not fresh, nor tasty, or anything to write home about. I hate wasting food but these were terrible. read more

I did not have a good experience here. The girls behind the counter are not knowledgeable about the cakes' ingredients. I ended up getting 2 cakes that had raisins when I told them repeatedly I was looking for cakes without raisins. If the cakes were orgasmic, I might be tempted to return, but they were just okay. BTW, I received a LOT of flack on Facebook for my negative review. It's nice that people are devoted to Amici's food and their owners, but I don't see any excuse for the experience I had. Is it the end of the world my food had raisins (which we don't like)? No, but what if we had an allergy or other issue? Those are serious matters. Bottom line: if you have a food allergy, ask to speak to the baker directly about what you should or should not buy. read more
