Checked out this new coffee spot in OP! Love the decor inside and you are going to want to try all of the sweet treats. I also had their spinach pastry option and it was yummy! I will be back to set up shop to work on my laptop. I had the pistachio latter and I loved it! Need to get back and try the Spanish latte. Staff was so friendly!

New Yemeni cafe in Kansas City metro (especially in Overland Park)!!!! People here know how to show up and support new cafes and restaurants. I've always loved Pistachio lattes from Yemeni cafes. So, I was very excited about to see what they offer at this place. They opened the doors in February 2026 & they're still in soft opening phase figuring everything out. Ambiance: Cafe is designed in a very unique way with a lot of different tables for smaller to larger groups. High chairs for people who want to work. I also noticed some pottery items in there. There is good amount of sun light coming in one side of the cafe. Menu - Coffee, Tea & Pastries: Since it is early days, they have a paper menu and I'm sure they're in the works for QR code menu and a TV screen menu. Menu had a good amount of Tea and coffee options with their house favorite Yemeni coffee. I have also noticed Pistachio cakes, croissants, Zaatar and cheese Manieesh & Beef Manieesh. We ordered Hot pistachio latte, Yemeni latte & Banana cream latte & Zaatar and cheese Manieesh for the table. Pistachio latte was good but not the best I've had. Manieesh had cream cheese and zaatar seasoning all over it. It was different and it may not work for folks who's not good with spices. I have to try Yemeni coffee and Adeni chai next time.

I Was So Excited To Try Mocha Point As The New Coffee Joint In The Area! The Place Is Beautifully Decorated Clean And Quaint. We Were Greeted Upon Entry And The Baristas Were Kind! The Coffee Was Delish Probably One Of The Best Pistachio Lattes I Have Ever Had. The Only Hang Up I Had Was The Price As A 16oz Latte Was $8. It May Be The Price Of Coffee These Days So I Won't Make A Huge Fuss But Just Something To Point Out. Im Happy for Mocha Point And Would Be Happy To Visit Them Again!

Yemeni latte, pistachio croissant, mango cheesecake

Great Yemeni latte with delicious flavors unlike traditional latte offerings. The pistachio croissant was indulgent and the perfect treat to go with the coffee. The mango cheesecake was so so, it tasted a bit stale, like it had been sitting out too long and was starting to dry out. The surroundings were spacious, clean and the service added to the welcoming atmosphere. Definitely will be back, but I suggest better preservation measures for the cheesecake because everything else was top notch!

Tried out this morning! The pasty case looked AMAZING and it was hard to pick but ultimately I am glad with my choice because the pistachio croissant was SO delicious! The iced latte was great as well. Little surprised to only see two working behind the counter since it was a busy Saturday morning though. Overall we will be back for sure to try more items here.

Large space - already lots of patrons.

This coffee shop just opened and is already quite popular. There were probably thirty people here during the day on a Sunday during Ramadan. We didn't think they would be busy until after sundown, but there are several people working on laptops and many more people hanging out. We only tried the hot Yemeni latte, which has cinnamon and cardamom. It was well made and on the hotter side temperature wise compared to many coffee shops. The cakes look delicious- especially the cheesecake and I'll be back to try dessert and an iced latte. This is located close to Mr. Gyro's at 135th & Antioch. Plenty of space and seating inside.

First of all, be sure not to blink because the sign isn't very visable and the location is unassuming from the outside, abeit a very clean exterior. Walking in, I love the vibe, trendy but not pretentious, grounded yet modern and a fair amount of people but not overflowing. Yessiree Bob, this is my kind of place. Oh and the baristas are patient, kind and willing to offer advice based on your individual tastes. I've been here several times; however, my eating habits preclude me from indulging in anything outside of berries. Do the apple fritters, donuts, muffins and other items look outstanding, of course they do. In fact, my buddy whom I generally meet there has raved how good the pastries are and after living in Austin and trying home made poptarts, I'm still kicking myself for not trying them. However, the path to maintaining a healthy weight and figure is paved in discipline. I must admit they nailed the ambiance. The cement floors are patterned with what looks like dark wood textured tiles and the walls are a warm burgundy, emitting a certain visual warmth. The hanging art amuses me, sometimes it's movie paintings, sometimes its modern art while other times it's eclectic and I've never figured out their rotation, but I appreciate it. The hanging lamps offer a bit of 2010 mod while the open coffee service area proudly displays all of the tools of an expert craftsman. The counter area has a small display case enticing the sweet tooth and the chalk boards give a simplistic view of their menu, but they also offer daily "experiments" that are fun to sample. The first time I came, I tried the Café Au Lait which was very strong, robust and full of lasting flavor. The 12oz amount seemed to be about perfect for my needs. The next time I dropped by I sampled the Dulce de Leche which was a mistake. Why, you might be wondering? Because I've never ordered anything else since then and I always get the 16oz. It's smooth, a little softer on the coffee flavor while balancing it with the strong caramel notes. I know it's probably got more calories than I want, but hey, that's why I'm not eating! They also have some pretty good selection of home ground coffees from places like Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Brazil and other far, far away locations. Come to think of it I don't recall if they have any Hawaiian beans which are pretty trendy now (Kona is a great coffee!!) Oh I forgot to mention they do have a fast wifi but please for the love of God, don't be that geek in the corner pretending to write the great American novel in the corner. That's so.... 2000s.... Overall, this is my favorite coffee shop in Overland Park and it's not even close. Stop on by for the best coffee experience you'll have in the area!

My Favorite Breakfast Spot -- and Ode to My First Dog, Layla…read more McLain's Market has easily become my favorite breakfast place in KC. It's got that ideal coffee shop & chill vibe -- during the week you'll see adults working quietly on laptops, and on weekends it turns into a mix of families, kids, and regulars who clearly love the place. The staff is always friendly, and the self-serve water station is a nice touch. Coffee: I've tried the lattes twice and the Salted Market Cold Foam Cold Brew (Sway Coffee Roasters cold brew + market syrup cold foam) once. Both are good -- not life-changing, but solid. I actually don't come here for the coffee; I come for the food. Breakfast: Quiche (Veggie or Bacon & Sausage) - Comes with a side of parmesan arugula salad. The veggie version surprised me -- I usually go for meat, but this one wins for balance and flavor. The meat version is good too, just a bit salty. Veggie: 4.5/5 | Meat: 4/5 The Farm Sandwich - Scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, veggies, cheddar, poblano spread, and avocado on a croissant. That croissanty, buttery base and poblano spread: Absolute chef's kiss. My mom and I both love this one -- buttery, filling, and comforting in every bite. 5/5 Pepper Jack Burrito - Scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, pepper jack cheese, and serrano sauce. Great kick from the sauce! If they toasted the wrap, it'd be a perfect 5/5 instead of 4/5. Chorizo Bowl - Over-easy egg, chorizo, sweet potatoes, quinoa, black beans, avocado, green onion + charred salsa. I'm usually not a quinoa fan (it's the "brown rice of health food"), but somehow they make it amazing. Sweet, savory, hearty -- the kind of dish that makes you forget it's healthy. A perfect brunch bowl. 5/5 -- honestly should be 6/5. Bakery Items: Carrot muffin and cinnamon donut -- both are light, perfectly sweet, and just the right size. 5/5 Layla's Last Breakfast This place also has sentimental meaning for me. On the day I had to say goodbye to my dog, Layla, I bought her breakfast from McLain's -- biscuits and gravy, and The Farm sandwich. That was her last meal before the vet came to our house. I'll never forget that she left feeling full and loved. So yeah, McLain's isn't just a café to me -- it's comfort, consistency, and a piece of my heart.

The plushies and other merch they had was very cute and I'll very likely buy something the next time I visit. The decor was also lovely, with some very happy plants in the windows. The staff were also friendly and gave me no reason to doubt their skills. My only complaint is that the seating was just shy of being comfortable. My friend said the bench seating was a bit hard, and while the chair I sat in was soft, the arm rests made it a little too narrow for me (I'm plus size and have chronic pain, so finding truly comfortable seating can be a challenge at most places. As a note, anyone larger than a women's 3X probably wouldn't be able to comfortably sit in the chairs at all and would need to sit on the bench). Overall it was a pleasant experience, and I plan to go again!
