Meh, ok hookah spot. Not sure why it says they're closed down, they are open, although I don't know if the hours have since changed. Pros were they were one of the few places opened in the downtown Brooklyn area on a Sunday night, and was convenient from where we came from dinner from the Carroll Gardens-Red Hook area, and on the way home. Cool decor, with the real old school Arab vibes. This is definitely a more chill spot where you come to have some hookah and chill with a friend and socialize, not a lounge type of place. They played some music from a TV in the background from a playlist, and had the AC going pretty strong, which I liked. There was a back room, but we were seated in the front area so can't comment on the back room or how it was. When we walked in, no one greeted us and we didn't know if we should just sit down or if we had to wait to be seated. We went to a table and were sitting for like 5 or 10 minutes before my friend decided to walk up to the counter to order, but the girl behind the counter had passed by a few times without even saying anything, and we clearly needed some guidance. She wasn't too on the ball and forgot a few times what we had ordered and was a bit slow. She was nice I guess, but just overall pretty lackluster and complacent. Hookah was ok. It pulled alright, but I've had better. They use, like is common in most places, the larger block size coals, but they must have had them in the warmer for too long because they were a little smaller when they put them on our head from ashing a bit. Not a huge deal. Coal attenders were ok, could have come around a little more often. Overall, a decent no frills low key place to stop by if you're in the area if you're with a friend to just chill or if you want to come solo and be in your zone. Not happy with how my party and I were treated on our way out. We paid for our items using the qr code on the receipt the woman gave us and a few minutes later, as we're leaving, she asks if we paid, so I show her the receipt on the screen and she says, "No, I need to see the receipt" - so we're stuck in the cold, blocking the entrance, while she watches us, and I pull out the receipt with the qr code, and she finally lets us go. Additionally, one of our servers insisted in speaking to our party in spanish - no problem, I'm dominican - but then didn't seem too happy that I was translating for my friends? It was weird. Long story short, if your new system is too advanced for you, please don't use it. It was my first time there since 2019...management must have changed, because I've never been treated so poorly. It used to be our go-to for relaxed get-togethers, and the folks working there were incredibly kind and helpful. I don't recognize the new folks, but I'm disappointed. Until today the old man who works there piseed me off when he yelled at the staff in front of all the customers for giving me glass water with the food I have ordered for which I specifically asked because I don't drink bottled water... he snatched the glass waters and gave us two bottles while screaming and shouting at the employee like a crazy man. I'm not sure if there's a law that says if customer want glass water then they must provide it rather than bottled. If anyone knows please let me know because I'd definitely like to prove a point... we come here almost every day spending at least $60 to $70 per day... I think if we want glass water, we should be provided glass water. The foods great but owners need to work on dealing with their staffs right. The gelato chocolate milk shake was nearly 7 dollars and watery. However, mocha hookah is open 24 hours and my double cheeseburger was pretty decent. What people don't always know, don't ever limit yourself to one flavor. You can always mix and match, personally I think everything is good with mint. Yelp didn't seem to do this place that much justice, but we took a chance on a small business...and we have been back many times since! This place is warm and inviting, and always has a good sized crowd. The young men and women who work there are very friendly and will help you right away. The seats are very comfortable, and they have some cool artwork on the wall. Lots of good hookah choices and DELICIOUS food! We get tea every time and we love their gyros. The coals on your hookah are replaced as soon as you need them to be, and the service is quick. We like to get the rose flavor and fresh fruit with our hookah. The music is a bit loud sometimes, but not overbearing. Family and I came here to relax after dinner and the place was kinds packed. All the smaller tables had been taken and so we sat with another smaller group. For $15 we got a hookah with both coconut and mint packed into a half carved out orange peel. That was an interesting touch. They mandated that every person order something, they just started serving boba (bubble) tea, and being a boba (bubble) enthusiast, I decided to try their green bubble milk tea. Now I should have realized that a place that didn't have any background in selling milk tea should not have advertised as such. Anyway, my order was just par, nothing special. Things I don't love: the constant door opening (when its cold out and I'm sitting near the door), the time it takes to order anything when it's super busy, the water policy. Over the last year I've managed to visit this place a few times. We always come for the hookah and their food is pretty good. They have a back room with many sofa areas and plenty of TVs. We were back there on our first visit and it's very comfortable. We actually had a nice Apple Hookah, some Mint Tea and watch a movie we selected for our section. In the evenings, I understand you must have a reservation for this area. The front portion is more a classic restaurant with more of a diner feel. You can get hookahs in the front as well. They also have a few TVs in the front as we enjoyed watching one of the World Cup games while eating and smoking. If you don't want to be around people hookah'ing then I would suggest not coming as this seems to be the primary reason come here. They have an extensive selection for the hookah but we always go with the classic Apple. They are very good at attending to the hookahs. I would classify their food as good but not great. They do have a very large menu so there may be some hidden gems I've simply not discovered. Their Shawarma's are good and should satisfy most people. Their Mint Tea is also very good. Unfortunately the service can be a bit slow and they don't always stay on top of things like keeping drinks filled. This place is fantastic! I was here at least once a week every summer. I personally now know the guys that run the place every day and they're all great! Great service and really really good quality hookah! If your hookah needs some fixing they have no problem customizing it to what you want; just ask!!
