When my prehistoric shag carpet era RV died in traffic, Guillermo was there with a new alternator just $200 parts and labor. Hoping he knows a bit about wiring too cause I'm definitely gonna be back. Edit: I have not able to reach Guillermo lately at his usual contact number I hope all is well. I managed not to electrocute myself (yet) but my onboard electronics now mostly work, most of the time. Mostly. read more

Great to work with. Did my brakes and windows really quick? Very friendly and inexpensive.

Do not use this guy! He's a rip off! He charged me $80.00 to temp fix my transmission cable enough so I could get the part you have to order through the dealer. It's just a plastic bushing (which we talked about the minute he showed up) Took him all of 15 minutes, which at the time I was grateful for. He didn't have to diagnose it because I told him these hero's are notorious and I knew exactly the issue. Not even 24hours later my car is stuck in the middle if the street in reverse. I called him and he wanted to argue how he told me it was a one time deal. I could have had my car towed to a mechanic and spent the money there and they could have ordered the part and put the money towards the complete repair. He hung up on me one the phone claimed he told me it was a one time fix for $80.00 I don't think so, the car had to last at least a week until I got the part! I know it's petty, it I'm suing him. You can't cheat people like that. He could have fixed it enough to last a few days. Now he won't answer my call and I'm in the middle of the street! He's a bad person and I'm an idiot for trusting him. read more

Guillermo came by within an hour and installed a fresh battery in my Granturismo. It took him all of about 25 minutes. He charged me $100 for labor, which is pretty steep, but I needed the work done quickly, so I walked away happy. Nice guy, and was delicate with my baby. read more

Just text me that he was too busy to work with me. That could be a great thing! I don't know.

Guillermo just left from helping me fix my car. And I can't express how wonderful he is. He went out of his way to make sure my car was running properly. He even had me go on a test drive before leaving so we could double check. I highly recommend him and recommend tipping him. He's a rare breed of a human being. 100% recommend. read more

So I called my friend to ask for a reasonable, HONEST and competent mechanic that would travel to my house in echo park to repair my car in the driveway. Stop, before you think that I am all ghetto, my driveway is hidden from view and therefore is not ghetto. ???? Okay, maybe just a bit ghetto. I digress, Guillermo (gee-yer-moe), was awesome. First off, he quoted me a whole $200 less for a clutch than anyone else I called. He had an assistant. Was quick, had all the tools required, was clean and spoke very decent English so communication was super easy. I liked him so much he is now repairing a couple of my friends nuisance problems in their cars. Sorry, I don't have an actual address for him since he came to me. So I will post the address for my friends business. The one that recommended him since I don't know how else to list it. Anyone know how to let me know read more

I love it when local businesses perform admirably. When my BMW conveniently broke down in the driveway of my Echo Park home, I typed in "Mobile Mechanic Echo Park" in google and up popped his listing. Hmm, two glowing reviews, but don't know him from Joe, I thought. But the car was out of warranty and paying $120 an hour or more for labor at the dealer wasn't appealing, so I figured what the hell. A phone call was made, and then an appointment. He showed up, dismantled some things, showed me some things, took me to the Auto Zone for parts, and soon thereafter my big dog is up and running again. Really knowledgeable and a very cool guy--and for a fantastic price. (Somewhere else would have charged me two to three times more for the time and effort he put in.) Definite recommend. read more

I called Guillermo after finding this review. Not so great with the English language, but very nice and did a fine job. My battery was completely dead and couldn't even be jumped. He came to my place made sure it was the battery that was the problem. He went with me to get the battery because I had no way to get to the store. Changed it quick and did a basic check on my car (oil check etc.). Charged me 40 for the whole thing. Thanks Guillermo. I am giving him a 4 because he was a bit hard to understand. read more

Guillermo did an awesome job... i gave him a call and he was over to me within the hour... ive called around to other mobile mechanics but they are flaky... i even left my battey with guillermo when i went to go get the money and he was still there working when i came back. I will call him for everything!!! read more

he is friendly and knowledgable and as long as it's a minor job, I believe he will save you money on labor. in my experience, he helped me with a few minor problems but I had to have my shocks redone after two months after having them installed by Guillermo. What i saved up initially by having him install the new shocks i ended up paying to another shop to fix in less than two months. The new shop I took my car to is M shop in eagle rock, and you can check how professional that shop is. bottom line, would recommend him for minor jobs but for other work, I'd say spend the extra money and take your car to a proper shop. you will be happier you did. read more

This guy was GREAT! Skilled, super-friendly, quick and affordable, Guillermo saved me a bundle on what it would've cost me to have my car towed to a garage or dealership and have a new starter installed. With Guillermo it was easy-peasy and my wallet still had some remaining $ left over when he was finished. I recommend him highly. read more

Guillermo is incredible. He came by the house this morning and fixed my boyfriend's 67 Camaro and we are incredibly pleased with the speed and efficiency of his work. The cost was so low that we gave him a little extra just because. He could have taken us to the cleaners but he didn't. He's an honest, hard working guy who makes it easy to write a review for. He's great. I can't say enough. Highly recommend. read more

Fantastic - seems very honest and reliable which is the thing that always worries me when it comes to car mechanics! He was a lovely guy, very friendly and very helpful. Will definitely use again and would recommend to anyone! read more

We chose Guillermo to repair a car for a film shoot. The week before the shoot we arranged for him to go by diagnose and repair. He said he was available and that he would go by. (He even called the car owner to confirm.) We didn't hear from him for a while, so we called back and was informed that he would not be able to make it after we had asked the owner to wait. Days later we made arrangements with Guillermo again. This time we set a time of 2p for him to go by. The owner of the car was waiting, and when we called to check in just before 2p we were told that he wouldn't be there until 4p! At 345p we called to make sure he was still on schedule. He told us he was on his way and that he would call after he had diagnosed the problem. The owner had now been waiting since before 2p. We hadn't heard anything by 530p, so we called again. No answer. We kept trying him from multiple phones. No answer. We called the car owner and he told us that he never showed up. Guillermo was a no call, no show. Despite what the other reviewers say, he is not reliable and his service is not recommended. At. All. read more

This guy is seriously great. I found him due to his first yelp review. I needed a certain car on set in 24 hours, but the fuel line had busted and it would NOT start. He undercharged me, so obviously I paid him correctly. The part was $40 (which would have been 80 anywhere else), and he only charged me $80 bucks for the day (1pm-6pm)--AFTER coming to my house and finding the part at a salvage yard for me! At the end of the day, I paid him $20/hour, cost of the part, mileage/gas, and a bump for coming to my house. Anyone else would have charged me an arm and a leg ON TOP OF it taking five days to repair. And I believe in karma. USE HIM! read more

Guillermo is totally reasonably priced, nice, and knows what he's doing. If you don't have a place for him to work, he'll do the work in the parking lot of his apartment building. You can save yourself a ton by buying the parts yourself and bringing them to Guillermo. And I'm not sure what the other reviewers were thinking criticizing his English skills. He speaks English just fine. read more

Thorough, efficient, great diagnostician, charged reasonably and a really nice guy, to boot. I would hire Guillermo again. He arrived at my house within 30 mins of my calling him. He diagnosed the problem (making sure 100% that he had the issue correct), drove me to Auto Zone to pick up the part, installed it and was on his merry way. Perfect. read more

My daughter, who lives in LA, needed to buy a low-cost used car on short notice. All of her family is in Minnesota, so none of us could help her look and assess whether something was roadworthy. I found Guillermo on this site, and he met my daughter to look at a craigslist Volvo. He identified some pretty costly repair items--including power steering issues--and spared my daughter a LOT of money and hassle (she didn't buy that car...). I am SO grateful for his presence and assistance! She thought he was great to work with, too--always a good thing for a parent to hear. read more

I called this guy because of these yelp ratings and I'm glad I did. He was busy when I called but came over to my place as soon as he was done, fixed my car in about 1.5 hrs and charged $60. I feel almost bad because anywhere else would have charged an arm and a leg. The best part about it though was that he explained to me what he was doing as I watched and helped, so I could figure out what was going on next time. Personally, I'd disregard the language-barrier comment. Sure, his English isn't flawless but come on, this is LA... and it's actually pretty good. I've already asked him to help me out with some body-work on a different car in a few days. I'd say, if you don't want to walk away from a mechanic experience feeling like you just got ripped off, give this guy a call. He's the man. read more

Had trouble with my BMW fuel pump and called Guillermo. He called me back immediately and was at my apartment within the hour. Diagnosed the problem, gave me an amazing price, replaced the parts and then my car was like new in no time. I cannot sing this guy's praises enough - in LA a car is a necessity and I will never visit another mechanic after working with this guy. He's got my business for life. read more

I highly recommend him he was prompt to come and replaced a water pump on my daughters car very affordable

Guillermo is honest, dependable, knowledgeable and I would use him again. He did a fantastic job my toyota corolla! I had the parts already and he put them in for me. I needed new bearings and rear breaks. He looked at the car and agreed with.me but he also informed me that I needed new inner tire rods. He recommended I buy the parts off the net so it would be cheaper. He fixed everything! It took a couple of days, thanks to it getting dark so early, some of the parts having to be shipped and my work schedule. He is amazing! I would recommend him to everyone and I love his work. Thank you so much Guillermo! read more

Absolutely Terrible, I don't know how he got good reviews but he quoted me $200 to fix my fuel pump and started to get to work on removing the piece. After that he said he was gonna go look for a replacement fuel pump and came back with a new piece only to say it didn't look the same as the one on my 01 is300 but that he can just cut a little piece off the top and it should fit, when I heard that I should have followed what my gut told me to do which was to tell him to leave but I thought well he's a mechanic so I'm guessing he knows what he's doing, 3 hours later he installed the piece somehow but my car still didn't turn on and now he's saying he doesn't know what's wrong with it and that maybe it's the crank sensor now, I offer to go buy one so he can install it and he says that he doesn't know if that's the problem and that he can come back sometime during the week so we can test a used one to see if it's the crank sensor, and he asks me to pay half $100 for basically not doing shit to my car but I agree thinking next week on Friday he will call me and tell me he can come, Friday comes along and I call him all morning and no answer, he finally answers and says he will stop by in a little bit but never shows up and no answer, Saturday comes along and I call him and he says he still hasn't found the "piece" and that tomorrow he can look for it? What the hell, he had allllll week to find the piece and was giving me excuses about being busy and now Saturday comes and he says he will look for it tomorrow? We agreed for him to fix my car by today! I paid $100 for nothing....I really hope he reads this because this is fucking ridiculous. I do not recommend him at all and he should have been honest from the beginning. If he didn't know how to fix the problem he should have said it before I wasted money. read more

A few years back my car completely went out and wouldn't even start. After the initial freakout from looking like we weren't going to meet a client we found Guillermo. He was so friendly and arrived very quickly to diagnose the car. Luckily it was a simple problem. Guillermo fixed it very quickly, and billed very fairly for his time. He saved out day and I was grateful he was able to get my car up and running very quickly and made my day. If I'm ever in the L.A. area again and have car troubles. I know who to call. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Guillermo! He showed up 30min early to my home today (Saturday) after I contacted him only yesterday.. Very knowledgeable and patient enough to explain the mechanics of my car. He did not mind walking us through his logical thought and offered possible causes that he worked to rule out individually. My husband is usually skeptical about these type of things but was pleasantly happy with the results!! & now my car is fixed!!! read more

I called him and set up two appoinmentz N he flaked on both of them. The second time I asked if he could show up at 5am and he said YES. 5am comez and he is nowhere to be found. this guy is awesome!!! reliable and HONEST!! Save money! Dont loose his number like I do!! id you do Guillermo mechanic in echo park!

Sudden problems with my (very) used Jeep caused me to seek out a mobile mechanic. Having read the reviews, I called Guillermo who was good on the phone and able to come by. Not in the 1-2 hours he said; more like 3, but that's the nature of mechanic work, sometimes. He had said he'd diagnose my misfiring problem for $50. He plugged in his code reader, got the codes, cleared them and we drove to observe how it ran. As is typical, it wouldn't do anything particularly bad in the presence of a mechanic, but the codes came back. Guillermo poked around under the hood, and made some comments that were spot on and some that showed a real lack of understanding of electronic engine management systems. Basically, he couldn't do anything, and I thought, as long as he's here, I'll have him install the rear brake pads I bought. I was working and heard hammering, which I thought was coming from my neighbors. Checked with Guillermo after an hour or so (changing brake pads is trivial) and he was pounding on my wheel with a hammer! He scarred the wheel trying to remove a jammed lug nut. All he needed to do was tell me and I'd have taken the wheel to a professional shop. But he didn't, and damaged an expensive alloy wheel. Since the damage was done, I let him pound on it for 3 more hours and sent him home. He promised to return to finish the job. He did not, and didn't call. He's a nice enough guy, but I can't recommend him. read more

I called Guillermo to come look at my car for an electrical problem. He said he would be there, but was a total no show, when we called him back, he said he couldn't find our house, which is extremely easy to find, and we told him we would tell him step by step again how to get there, and he said no forget it, he didn't feel like doing the job. If you are looking to count on someone to be there, I would not count on him. I give him 2 enthusiastic thumbs down read more

i called this morning at 8am. I was told after giving explicit instructions he would be out to do the job at 12 noon. I left my phone number and gave detailed instructions where I am located. After this unprofessional experience anyone who uses him would be a complete fool. read more

Thursday after work my car wouldn't start. No warning, no stutter almost start, just wouldn't start. A co-worker couldn't jump it either. AAA came, tested both my battery and starter and said both needed replacing, but the starter need replacing more. I don't know squat about cars. I know where the key goes and gas goes. I'm a girl, that's a poor excuse, but I've always let my dad and brother handle my car woes. Well, I moved thousands of miles away and now have to rely on the honesty of strangers. And in LA you get more strange than honesty. Since my car wouldn't go, Friday after a super overpriced Lfyt line ride home from work, I Googled moblie mechanics near me. Several popped up and among them was Guillermo. Guillermo said he could be there tomorrow at 10am. He was there at 9:30! Popped the hood looked around a bit and said, "I think it's going to be your battery." I was like really cause AAA said... and he was like, "your battery is not so good anymore. It's old. (did you know there are date stickers on car batteries!? I do now!) Guillermo used my roommate's battery in my car just to see and it started right up. Long story short, exchanged the starter I bought for a battery and I'm rolling again! Guillermo charged me $60 which I was more than happy to pay. He also gave me a quick car lesson on simple things I can check and maintain myself and in 3 years, I can change my own battery! Guillermo was super nice and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again! Thank you so much for your honesty Guillermo! read more
