I had an IPad 12.9 that I sent for repair. Marcos said that the device is unrepairable and offered a new replacement for $890. I reluctantly agreed to do this and I received the same 5th gen 12.9 iPad when I thought I was getting a new one based on what I paid. I was very unhappy with the product I received and expressed that I wanted to undo the transaction but Marcos told me that I have to deal with Apple. After calling Apple, they told me I have to go back to Mobile Kangaroo and there is nothing they can do. I don't blame Mobile Kangaroo but I felt that that if he was crystal clear about what I was getting, I wouldn't have given away my old iPad for no value to them. The AppleCare+ people sent me here to have my screen and Home button replaced under the service agreement, with Apple-certified parts. It's in a small strip mall downtown, and while not the easiest to find, was accessible and there was sufficient parking. Upon entering the small shop, someone came to the front area, and I explained the situation. "Oh, if you had been here before 11..." was not what I wanted to hear. "We have to bring parts and the calibration machine from our store in Fremont." was something else I didn't want to hear. "We can't do anything over the weekend." You're best to visit them on a Monday, so you can plan to have your phone repaired sometime between then and Friday. Apple doesn't note that Mobile Kangaroo isn't quite able to handle their business in Modesto. Plan ahead! read more

I was a little nervous taking my apple computer to get repaired anywhere other than the Apple Store, but unfortunately, they were closed due to Covid, and I needed my screen replaced ASAP. Through Apple, I found this company. I made an appointment and brought my computer in to be checked. The girl at the front desk was accommodating. I explained that I needed my computer for work every day, and she said once they got the part ordered and received, I could bring in the computer that day and have it fixed the same day. She was kind enough to help me reset my external hard drive to back my computer up. This was a huge relief. I took my computer home and was able to use it until it was time to get fixed. When they got the part, they informed me that there was a few orders in front of me, so if I wanted same day, I should bring it the next day. The next day I called and confirmed that they were ready, and they were. I dropped my computer off around 11:30 am, and it was ready to be picked up around 5 pm. My laptop is as good as new, and my workflow was not interrupted. Overall, I would highly recommend mobile kangaroo for any Apple repairs. read more

Ok so my iPad 7 Gen stuck in a upload loop.. I have never had any issues with my iPad, it has worked awesome since I unboxed it.. But out of nowhere I got stuck in a uploading loop.. So I watched a few YouTube videos on how to reboot it.. And to no success, it did not work and kept on the rebooting loop.. So I watched a few more YouTube videos, And I had to get my iMac involved and hook my iPad up to it.. At first I thought had to do a simple update but that was a fail.. So then iTunes suggested I do a complete restore that was also a fail.. So on all my Apple products:. I do have most of them covered with Apple care plus.. And it turns out that the little investment in Apple care Plus we're still valid on my ipad for a few months.. So I went through the Apple support to set up an appointment.. at first I thought I was going to have to travel to Modesto to the apple store.. But it turns out in TURLOCK , The mobile kangaroo is a authorized by Apple to Take care of Apple products.. So it worked out really good for me, To schedule appointment local and save me a trip to Modesto and saved me time of being in the Apple store, Because from my past experiences of going to the Apple store it's very time consuming to have them look at your products that are not working correctly. The mobile kangaroo staff is really friendly and knowledgeable.. I believe the person that was working there, his name is Gilbert (please forgive me if I got your name wrong) he told me exactly what he was going to do to my iPad to revive it and get it functioning again... As it turns out I have a stubborn iPad and needed some time to work on it.. Which is cool.. he did tell me that if apart was needed that that would be a cost.. Which is common with Apple care..from my past experiences when I had to have a phone replaced instead of paying for hundreds of dollars for a new phone I only had to pay $50 to get it replaced.. Some people think that when you have Apple care that it's like 100% insurance, it is not.. if your phone needs a part be replaced you get it at a much discounted price rather than pay hundreds for a new Devices.. Gilbert Was very thorough and explain to me what he was going to do to revive my iPad and also explained if something had to replace that there would be a cost.. and I agreed... As for it beats for buying a brand new iPad.. To make a long story short I needed to leave my iPad there.. I got a text and email about two hours later that my product was ready to pick up:. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the guy working there was super polite. I made an appointment through Apple to get my iPad reset because I forgot my passcode and I couldn't do it at home. Save yourself the headache and drive to Modesto to the Apple Store. They didn't disclose any price to me before they started the service. When I went to go pick up my iPad it ended up being $40. Then I was told that Apple doesn't reimburse them for services (they absolutely do) paid the $40. That's insanely poor customer service. The job was done though. Will not be returning. read more

Horrible experience. I was referred to this location through the Apple website. The button on my phone was jammed and the employee said he would see if it was covered under warranty. It was ( I mean it should be since it's a defective phone) I had to wait 4 days to receive my "new phone" I only found out my new phone had arrived 4 days later because I had to call multiple times, even though I had provided 2 cell phone numbers and an email address so that they can notify my that my phone came in. After the 4th day, when I received my phone, the same volume button was still a little jammed. At least I have another year in case it malfunctions again. Also, the employee broke my phone case (which I had just bought 2 days previously) and tried to deny it saying " well here's the thing, I don't know if I broke it or not" with attitude. After letting him know that I know it was him because I just bought the case and he took it off my phone roughly, he agreed to give me a free screen protector. I will never return here for a service and wouldn't recommend anyone come here for a service . SMH! read more

They were able to help me, even after the costumer in front of me was cussing up a storm and yelling. The staff was professional and didn't let that effect the service they gave me. There were problems outside of the company control that I feel like to point out for others. 1.) they had to order parts from Apple for my laptop, and it was back order for about 2-3 weeks, then it was thanksgiving so yea it took a month. Again not their fault. They called me to give me a follow up and answer my questions respectfully when I followed up. 2.) the delivery company delayed it for some reason that can't be explained "switched drivers" After these delays, they were able to fix my laptop and pick up the next day. How is this place Apple Certified?! Literally worst service EVER! Waited over a day for them to pickup the phone THEY were suppose to pickup at the time we scheduled it! When they finally get it together and pick it up they tell me they have to ship it to Apple and I'd have to pay before it's shipped, which was ok with me....BUT I MADE THE PAYMENT and I get a call the next day saying the payment didn't GO THROUGH?!?! Never bothering with a Genius appointment again. I was given a 'loaner' iPhone while my iPhone 7 is fixed. It kept freezing on the setup screen, and the staff at the local Apple store didn't think anything was wrong. I was told to go home and finish the setup, but this didn't help at all. My phone wouldn't finish setting up. I went to Mobile Kangaroo and was helped immediately. My loaner works as it should, and I was even helped with my laptop while things were loading. Definitely should not be in any type of customer service line of work. Quick to try to upcharge a client or kick theM out. I scheduled an appointment with An Apple care associate on Friday October 9th that morning, was able to get the closest appointment for the 15th of October but it was with kangaroo instead of Apple . She told me it was an Apple authorized retailer I would be in great hands plus it would be lower cost due to my insurance. I went to my appointment today and not even 10 mins later was outta there , livid, so mad I cried on the way hoMe . I first told him I had an appointment he was a gentleman at first until I asked about my back cameras and back of my phone , at first he was able to fix my screen no issues but once I asked that he whole demeanor changed . He was then like "if I do the back I'd have to replace the entire phone , and if we do that then it wouldn't be available until Friday or the upcoming Monday and I'd have to leave my phone with him. " so then "I was like okay no problem I was nug asking bout it just looking for my front display screen to be fixed." He then replies , " well if you do that you can't just come back in here later and get the back fixed I won't do that" that threw me off but I still was like "okay that's fine just fix the front screen please" so he's typing in his computer then goes "well if your not going to get the phone replaced then I can't help you it's too much PAPERWORK on my end to just replace the screen " like WHATTTT???? Are you serious it's too much paper worm to do the exact thing my appointment was for ? That was completely rude and unpleasant and unprofessional. Then told me I could leave like what type of manager or service rep acts like that for no reason. Apple needs to separate ties with them or get a new staff this is unacceptable. Let the buyer beware. I brought my MacBook Air to Mobile Kangaroo in Modesto because I could not get sound out of the headphone port. When I brought the laptop in and explained this, the employee never asked me to turn it on or demonstrate, etc., which in retrospect I thought was weird, but he assured me that a diagnostic would be performed. Later I received a phone call saying that a cable needed to be replaced and the cost was around $129 (but the $65 diagnostic fee would go toward that cost). The parts would be in after two more business days. Three business days later, I called, and the part had not yet been received because there was a problem with the ordering process. The next day when I called again, the part had been received, but the employee had not yet fixed the computer. He assured me it would be done in the morning. When I called the next afternoon, I was told that employee was out for the afternoon and the person on the phone could not determine whether my laptop had been fixed. Yesterday, eight days after the initial drop off, I drove to the store determined to get some answers. I was assured that the problem was fixed and given a bill for $118 (in addition to the $65 diagnostic fee, which is different than I had previously been quoted). I insisted on powering up my laptop and checking the work before I paid. As suspected, there was still no sound coming from the headphone port. The employee (a different one than the guy who helped me originally) apologized for the shoddy work and said it should have been checked before he returned it to me. (You think??) I insisted that I was not going to pay for a new cable when most likely nothing had been wrong with the old cable, so he retrieved the old part and switched it out for me. Then he performed a diagnostic test that took less than a minute and determined that my logic board would need to be replaced, and quoted me a price of $500. This was the information I wanted from the beginning, eight days earlier, when I brought in my laptop. Needless to say, I declined to have that work done at Mobile Kangaroo. Finally, the employee told me there was nothing he could do about refunding the $65 diagnostic fee, although as I pointed out, my computer had not been properly diagnosed in the first place. Overall: Horrible customer service. Every time I called I got a run-around where they couldn't seem to find my information and when they did, the person on the phone never knew anything about the status of the repair. It took eight days and $65, and nothing was repaired on my laptop. Worse, I have no confidence in the diagnosis of the machine needing a new logic board--would you, after this experience? Bottom line: Take your Mac to the Apple store. I thought I'd save myself a trip to the mall, but clearly Mobile Kangaroo is not a professional organization, and if they had wanted to try to make it right for me, they would have waived the diagnostic fee and provided me with a written quote/recommendation for how it could be fixed. read more

I was on the road and I needed the camera fixed in my iphone 5. I was lucky to find this place I thought. I really needed my camera. The technician did set me up and I was out of there in two hours. However, 5 hours later the same problem started occuring. Shaking camera will not focus. The technician was very helpful and courteous but results were not good. I scheduled an appointment online but saw that they took walk ins so I went right over. I've dealt with the Apple store at Vintage mall, and it's almost impossible to get a quick appointment. The service I received was excellent. They fixed my iPhone on the spot, and I was out of there so fast. They are reasonable, quick, efficient and know what they are doing. I highly recommend them without hesitation, and plan to take in my IPad next to get fixed or replaced, since the pricing is the same as the Apple store with little or no waiting.
