The food was good and comforting, but we probably won't go there again. Pros: Good food at a decent price. Cons: We got charged an automatic gratuity for 3 people, even though we saw locals (also 3 people) just put tips on the table when they left. We asked at the paying counter and the lady told us that it's up to the waitress to decide. I wonder if they just do that to non-locals because if I go there again I'd totally ask which waitress I'd get that day and if they automatically include gratuity without telling you. read more

To start our waitress just walked up to the table and stared at us. No hello or anything. If she hadn't had the pad of paper in her hand I wouldn't have known she was our waitress. We really liked the Moab Grill. When we walked in we weren't sure since the decor looked a bit 1970's drab, but we quickly got over it and saw that they had some nice things on the menu. I got the marinated chicken from the "lighter fare" menu and it was just perfect! I got the side salad and a cup of chicken soup with it, both of which were quite nice. My favorite though was the yam with cinnamon butter!! This was a-w-e-s-o-m-e and I'd go back just for that. I also had a great hot chocolate with whipped cream that was served in a nice glass mug. My husband had a 12oz prime rib with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and soup, and he ate every last bit. We were really pleased with the quality, variety, and portions. The service is AWFUL. The waitstaff is extremely RUDE. He took our order and brought us water then we never saw him again, people seated after us were being served. After 20 minutes waiting, my husband asked our waitstaff why he was just chatting with others and did not bring our drinks. The waitstaff said he just forget and if we don't have the patience to wait we should leave. This is very rude, so we left. When we left the restaurant, the waitstaff came out. This is usually a favorite stop for dinner when we are in town. Unfortunately, tonight was SUPER disappointing. There are signs all over the hostess desk about a "smile" contest. I can see why. Our host did not greet us or smile or ask us how we were when walking us back to our table. He was supposed to come back with a high chair and never did....then our loud and obnoxious server came by eventually with waters. When my husband tried to ask her about. A menu item, she cut him off and walked away mid-sentence sayin she's give us more time. She took forever to return to our table. She is so terribly loud with poor grammar/diction and tossed coasters at us. That's a little aggressive, rather than being friendly and welcoming. A nice, fairly quick diner for an easy bite to eat. I tried a very interesting sandwich there - grilled pastrami with onions and tomatoes, melted swiss cheese with a fried egg on top of it all. This struck me as bizarre, so I had to order it. Not amazing, per se, but very good nonetheless. Waitress got one part of the order mixed up, but took care of it instantly without it being an issue. Horrible service by out waitress. On our first day in moab we decided to have breakfast here...but I really wish we hadn't! The waitress had a terrible attitude and was incredibly rude. I admit we were a big group with 16 of us and I know it would be hard to split checks but that is no excuse to be so rude. If it was too much for her to handle she should have asked for some help from the manager or another server. We had great service at the blupig restaurant and jailhouse cafe, the servers were super friendly. That is why her attitude had no excuse! Not a bad place for dinner! Did the Delicate Arch hike and we were extremely thirsty and hungry, good thing they had beer! Our service was moderate, definitely have had better, definitely have had worse. We were a large party (8+) so that might have been part of it. A party that large though, could have split the table so that food could come out at two times close together instead of serving cold food all at once. These folks got their butts handed to them this evening. Below are the details... We sat outside to avoid waiting for a table. The weather was very comfortable. We waited an HOUR +/- before our food arrived. I could see others inside we're waiting for food too. At one table one foreigner was asleep and another's head was bobbing. I hope that wasn't their first experience with American hospitality. My side salad was tasty with good quality produce. The roasted turkey was better than what Grandma can make. My wife's grilled cheese had a gourmet appearance. She said the sweet potato was very good, but needed to be hotter. My son claims his chicken fried chicken was cold, but the accompanying potatoes were good. Mom hated her meal. It was cold and sent back. She also did not like her chicken noodle soup that did not arrive until the entrees were served. The menu did not mention that the roasted turkey came with stuffing (dressing). If I had known I may have asked to substitute for a vegetable. Not sure what went wrong. It looked like the kitchen was getting the food out, but perhaps it was sitting too long until served. What is sad is that I think these folks know how to put out a delicious meal. Unfortunately, I would be an idiot to try to convince the family to go back after they waited an hour for cold food. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. We sat at the counter and had quick service. Our main server was friendly and without being asked, gave us some suggestions for things to see. My husband was happy with his meal, my hash browns were lukewarm and I ordered scrambled rather than fried eggs. Nevertheless, our server's sunny disposition made up for that. I cannot however overlook indifference during the payment process. The young girl that took our payment could not manage a please, thank you nor even make eye contact. As I turned to leave I heard a cursory Have a Nice Day but that was insincere. We came in and the manager walked out and told us that she "didn't have the staff for all of us even in 20 minutes". Very rude considering that the day before we ate there and spent about $400. We'd give less than a star if we could. Service: Absolutely terrible, the waitress Brenda walked by us without even acknowledging at least three times before finally coming over and rudely asking us what we wanted. She didn't even introduce herself! The only way we knew her name was cause it was on the receipt. She also did not check up on us after receiving our food to see if we needed anything and walked by the table five times without refilling my drink. I had it sitting at the end of the table the entire time. She also gave us a condescending tone when we inquired what was in one of the menu items. When you work in the service industry you need to have a certain level of etiquette and she lacked any resemblance of it. However, the hostess, Martha, was extremely friendly, joyful, and was what seemed to be the only form of quality guest service in the building. Food: The food was what you would expect from a diner, bland. Not much to say here. I ordered a burger (wasn't asked how I'd like it cooked) and it came out dry. The patty was preformed and looked like one of the frozen ones you'd get at Sam's Club (Bubba Burgers I think?). The only redeeming quality of the food was the Veggie Burger we ordered which was flavorful and appeared to be made from scratch. So kudos on that. Shame that in my opinion it's not enough to bring the rating any higher. Until they improve their guest service, I'd suggest staying away from here. read more

Arrived around 8:00pm and waited at the door without any acknowledgement for two minutes. We were given a menu and water. After five minutes we were ready to order but nobody came. After five more minutes more customers arrived who were seated behind us, given water and a menu. The waitress chatted with these customers with as if to be friends and brought them drinks, however we sat still waiting to be served. We got up and decided to leave since they were serving customers who arrived after us and ignored us, the tourists. When we got into the car we saw the restaurant staff pointing at us and laughing. We did not find it funny to be ignored and laughed at. We spent a wonderful 4 days in Moab and had excellent service at other restaurants, but at the Moab Grill we felt like an unwelcomed tourist. read more

I visited Moab in November 2012, ate here twice in 3 days, and loved the food and service. The prime rib was amazing in taste, tenderness, and portion, for $15 with salad and dessert. Coming from the west coast, an equivalent meal would cost 2x/3x more! I stopped at the Moab Grill as I was on a MC trip from NY to AZ to visit my 2 daughters. Stayed over in Moab for 2 nights as I visited Arches Park. Had breakfast on 2 days and was very impressed with scrambled eggs with ranch potato (home fries cut larger). Eggs cooked to perfection and served with a tri-fold as you would an omelet. The best part was the homemade salsa served on the side with my order. I normally do not go to the same restaurant twice, as I like trying other places, but the salsa was a perfect compliment with my eggs. If I could give less than 1 I would. I ordered a breakfast burrito, my daughter ordered a tropical fruit bowl and my wife order scrambled eggs. The waitress brought my daughter's meal and my wife's meal together and spilled fruit juice on my daughter. She offered a rushed apology and left. The fruit was straight out of a can. My wife's eggs were not scrambled. Then she brought my breakfast burrito. I cut a piece and as I pushed my fork into it I noticed mold on the flour tortilla. I showed it to the waitress and she brought it back. When she brought a new one, long after my wife and daughter were done eating I told her I wasn't expecting to pay for my meal. absolutely horrible service, we arrived to an almost empty restaurant with no reason to be given bad service. a woman took drink orders and we sat for 10 minutes with nobody returning to the table. there were two employees sitting folding napkins or whatever and another server walked right past without acknowledging us. completely unacceptable especially for a restaurant that is nowhere near full. needless to say we walked out. dont expect much from the service here... read more
