Eat breakfast here. Green chili omelet was perfect and the green chili is great. Blueberry pancakes were dinner plate sized and my husband couldn't finish them which is unheard of. Went twice during our time in Moab regardless of our motel having free breakfast and the Denny's being right there. Can't speak to lunch...but breakfast is worth it! read more

It would be nice if the restaurant ever picked up the phone to take an order for takeout. When they do, they put the customer on hold (I waited 10 minutes; I was forgotten about) and then never attend to them. Man O Man!!! Best burgers in the area!! Quick and delicious. It's a bit clustered with people but we came in on Independence Day but service was really fast and they didn't disappoint. We were wondering where to eat on a Friday night, after the Quesadilla Mobillia had closed . We walked down main street and must have had a puzzled look on our face as two older guys asked us what we were looking for and recommended the Diner. It was as they said fast and not too costly. The chocolate mint chip shake here was excellent!! Super creamy and just really good. My cheeseburger tasted delicious and was cooked well...to the point of overcooked, but still tasted good. My husband also had a burger and onion rings which were very tasty as well. Super busy...I think we had several different people bringing us water, shakes, food, etc. Hopefully they have a good system set up for splitting the tips. I dropped in on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30 on my way out of town after some car trouble. I grabbed a table and after a minute or three a lady brought me a glass of water and assured me that my waitress would be with me shortly. I thumbed through the menu, figured out my order, folded the menu and put it on the far side of the table to indicate that I was ready to order. I then pored through my road atlas, pondering the driving ahead and how much time I would need, possible alternatives . . . after some time I was pretty confident of my plans, but I still had not ordered. I put away my road atlas, and tried my best to look ready-to-order. I looked around--the staff had been working on a larger party that had arrived and the restaurant was reasonably busy. Waitresses hustled past me, looking harried, avoiding eye contact with me like I was a homeless person who might ask them for money. (I guess I was looking a bit disheveled after the car troubles.) After I had been there for twenty minutes I concluded that I needed to keep to my schedule, and left after finishing my ice water. The ice water was good. read more

Two Words to learn: "Moab Melt." Seriously people, if you go to a diner (in general), always ask your server or look at their menu and see what their hometown favorite is, the signature item, the specialty item (whatever) and order that item. In my normal LA life, I would have never ordered something like this, but vacation is vacation right? I knew my trip to Moab would result in lots of hiking. I went for it. I ate the Hell out of the Moab Melt. The Moab Melt is fucking ugly and it's fattening. It might make you question your eating habits for a long time but it's damn good. Seriously though, whoever the hell thought of fork tender roast beef on a gigantic piece of french bread with some crazy weird and delicious 'chili' (more like a gravy-style salsa verde) with a pile of melted cheese is a stoner genius. Aside from the Moab Melt, the service there is really good. We came in right when they were closing, and instead of the entire kitchen staff complaining about taking a last order, they didn't seem to mind at all. Our server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. For it being late at night and the last people in the diner, that is pretty shocking in it of itself. He never tried to rush us out, and instead, told us not to worry and to take our time. Next time I'm in Moab, I'll sure as Hell be back at this diner and ordering the same thing. ;) read more

Pulled into moab and needed some grub from the road trip in. Place was quiet since it was a super late lunch. Ordered a burger and my Gf had a roast beef open sandwich with there green chili sauce. Asked for a cherry coke and they did not have but made a cherry Pepsi. Burger was good. Better than any fast food. The roast beef sandwich was the bomb!!! Damn green chili was hard to beat. Stuff was so tastee that I kept dipping my fries in there. Would make some mean green chili fries!!! Service was good and there server friendly. Yes. Kokopelli Chicken anyone? We had dinner here on a recent visit to Utah national parks (Arches in particular). It was good and unique in its offerings. I tried the Kokopelli Chicken, which was quite good. It had a southwestern flair and was spicy with the house special chili sauce on it. I don't pretend to understand southwestern chilis, but this was really good. I thought kokopelli might be a Greek word, but further investigation revealed that Kokopelli is a lengendary native American flute player who would visit villages with his flute, sometimes to trade wears, sometimes to lure children and ladies into false security with his flute playing so he could molest them. Go figure! The chicken was great! Husband had a HUGE burger which he enjoyed. Definitely a good, reasonably priced place to stop when you visit. read more

I was here on Saturday, March 22nd for breakfast and it was awesome. There was an army of staff and everyone was really nice. The food as good and it was more than I could eat. The price was awesome. On Sunday I tried to go back but they aren't open on Sunday. I like it when businesses give their employees a set day off. My family came from out of town and wanted some comfort food. Moab Diner had a great menu and seemed to be a fun place. We arrived just before the rest of the town did. We were greeted and sat down quickly and our waitress came over immediately. We asked for recommendations and she was quick and knowledgeable about the menu. After we put in our orders we saw the lobby full up and the whole place get very busy very fast. The entire staff jumped into action and were running around takings orders, delivering food and seating guests. It was impressive! Our food arrived very fast (less than ten minutes after ordering). We got the chicken fried chicken, grilled cheese and chicken strips. The food was pretty good-aside from one of the chicken strips being very under cooked. We would have loved to stay and get ice cream, but we wanted to go so another group could have our table. We plan on returning later to check out the ice cream. read more

Came here for lunch after our white water rafting trip was done. I was told that this is the place where all the locals eat and they have the best green chili in Moab, which peaked my curiosity. I ordered the burger with a side of green chili. The burger wasn't anything memorable but the the chili was freakin' delicious. I never had tried green chili before so I didn't know what to expect and since it exceeded my expectations here, I'm now on a hunt for green chili here in Chicago. Does anyone know what the best spot in Chicago for green chili is? Anyways, this place gets really crowded for lunch and we had about a 20 minute wait, which was fine. However, it took a really long time for our waitress to come and take our order. I know it's busy but still it shouldn't take another 20 minutes for your server to acknowledge your presence.
