I visited this laptop repair shop around 6 PM on 11/3/26, and the experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. When I walked in, there were no other customers. The person working there was standing barely two feet away, talking to someone sitting on the couch. Despite my presence, he made no effort to acknowledge me. No greeting, no eye contact, not even a simple "I'll be with you in a moment." After standing there for what felt like several minutes without being acknowledged, I finally approached him to ask if someone could look at my laptop. His response was dismissive and arrogant. He said they were too busy and that someone could look at it tomorrow, ending the conversation with what seemed like a mocking smirk. I completely understand that a repair shop can be busy, but being busy is no excuse for being rude or disrespectful. A simple acknowledgment and polite response would have been enough. Basic courtesy costs nothing. Unfortunately, that seemed too much to expect here. Very disappointing customer service.

Here is a unbiased review of my recent computer PANIC!…read more I received truly professional and outstanding service at FlashTech when I was having a computer problem. I was unsure about how the process works and was afraid of getting ripped off about something I know very little, but they walked me through the whole process on the phone and explained their very detailed billing and additional work approval system. It was explained which components and cables I needed to bring and those that could stay at home so the process could be 100% thorough. When I brought my equipment to the shop, they recorded very detailed notes for the technician who would work on my machine, and had me approve them. I received a call from the tech after he had discovered the problem and was provided with solutions and also offered some additional options. When I went to pick up the equipment, everything was ready and I even received a refund from the deposit I had originally provided. My only regret is I did bring my computer to them sooner. How about that a happy ending to a computer story.

There are several of these throughout the mall at Willowbrook. A couple kiosks and a couple of storefronts, I guess to maximize their business, but I was a bit annoyed when they started giving me the run around saying that maybe other locations had what I needed or could help me better. I went from the first shop to the kiosk back to the shop and then they asked that I go to the other storefront store. They didn't want to call the other stores which was odd, but I guess they wanted me to show them my device. They did a very good job replacing my lens and I think the model of these stores is to fix the ever present cracked screens that plagues us smartphone users these days. Anything beyond that though I'd seek out a more well equipped shop. It's nice to drop your phone off and shop for a bit which I think is the pitch here.

I asked if it might be something simple, since my neighbor's did the same thing and she went to an independent shop and got it fixed it in an afternoon. Employee said it would be a significant outlay just to run diagnostics then more to try and salvage the data. Throw in the cost of a new computer because mine was allegedly end of life. Any other solution was prohibited because of store policy. I don't know much about computers, but I know when I'm being rushed toward a sale. Everyone was polite, I'll give them that. But I left feeling a bit silly, like I'd wasted their time. Traveled out to Queens and got my laptop fixed in an afternoon for way less. Don't get why these guys are so inflexible.

Was told that the motherboard had to be changed as well (which was also plausible), but asked to get my old motherboard back. Received working laptop with some damages on the case (they tried to open it the wrong way). And most importantly, they gave me a random motherboard not even matching the make of the laptop. Did some investigation (opened the laptop), realized that the motherboard was not changed. Called David (he pretended to be someone else - used name Andrew, but got out of the character shortly after I gave him details, and I told him that I can recognize his voice/accent). I confirmed with Lenovo that I still have the original motherboard. Scam! Stay away - might fix your electronics, but will overcharge you for parts that actually don't have to be changed!
