I'm posting on here for the first time ever to warn people about Mike Larson and Dixieline who were contracted by my HOA to replace my front door. During the installation process one of my electrical circuits was shorted out which required an electrician to come out and fix. It's debatable whether it was simply old wiring or something the installers did but Mike Larson refused responsibility and refused to cover any costs to fix it. What is not debatable is the quality of the door installers. They consider the attached photos as finished work. It looks like they used a butter knife to cut the drywall. Mike Larson specifically told his drywaller to not fix the edge. Do not hire him or Dixieline and warn your HOA not to hire him either. read more

In June of 2018, we purchased windows and a door for our home. Mike Larsen and his crew installed our windows and door. We could not have been more pleased with the workmanship and the professionalism of Mike and his crew. Recently, we were in a position to complete the remaining window projects for our home. We again chose ML Larson to perform our installation. Mike came out to our home, met with me, performed his measurements and I explained to him how we wanted our window installation to look. We have an older home, built in the latter part of the 50's. We wanted to maintain a classic look, while updating our windows to a more energy efficient window. Mike listened to our concerns, explained how his crew would install the windows, and answered all of our questions. Mike kept in touch with us throughout the process and contacted us to schedule an installation date when the windows were available. His crew came to our home, on time and promptly started working. They kept a very clean work area, masked off interior portions of our home to minimize dust and debris, and left our home clean and tidy. On 11-1-2021 I signed a contract with ML Larson construction to install a four panel glass door in the living room of my personal residence. The installation of the door involved, at one point, lifting my wooden patio cover that is made of 4x6 beams and attached to the house roof, in order to install a large beam above the glass door opening for support. The entire project cost $21,000 and $9,000 of that was for the installation. I actually paid Mark Larson an extra $1000 to ensure a good job. Shortly after installation, it rained. I noticed water seeping down my interior wall from the corner of the roof where the large beam was installed and where the patio roof (that was lifted for installation) met the house roof as a part of the door installation. I immediately notified Mike Larson, owner of ML Larson construction, and sent him pictures of the wet drywall and leak going down the entire length of my interior wall. He said he would be out to look at it, but he did not. After several communications by me he finally sent someone out from his brother's construction company to look at the roof. That person (Eric) was supposed to get back with me on what would be done but he never did. After several more months, I was able to get in touch with Mike Larson again and he again sent out someone from his brother's construction company to look at my roof (Eric). This was in March 2022. He was again supposed to check with Mike and get back to me on what would be done but nothing ever happened. After several months went by again I contacted Mike Larson and told him that this needed to be fixed. It had rained many times by this point, and I still had a roof leak and had quite a bit of staining and ruined drywall texture on the interior of my wall as a result. On December 22, 2022, Mike sent his brother, Seth Larson, president and owner of Stel Builders Inc., a construction company, who says he also does some roofing, to my home. He looked at my roof, took some pictures and then sent me a report that basically said, in a rather rude way, that I had neglected my roof, and that there were many leaks in that area of the roof, but none of them were due to the work that his brother had done. When I pushed back and insisted they fix my leak, he said I was a neglectful homeowner and to prove it he saw my pool was dirty when he was there and I had broken pool chairs. He also said he could probably look around my property and find several more things that I had neglected to prove his point. He accused me of having a roof that was over 50 years old even though he did not actually know how old the roof is. He also accused me of having several patches on my roof as proof that I had had problems. Actually, roof is not 50 years old. There are no patches on the roof because I never had a problem before Mark Larson came and worked on my door installation. I find it interesting that Seth cannot determine the date of my roof, but he can pin point what he said were several leaks on the roof, as all being before October 2021 when his brother worked on my door installation. When Seth Larson inspected my roof, I had explained that the pool was dirty because my pool cleaner was not working and I would soon get to it. I do not know what broken pool chairs he is talking about. I have no broken chairs. And as for the roof, I had solar installed five years ago. I had the roof inspected by two different reputable roofers at the time, who said that the roof was in perfect condition. There were no issues before or after the installation of solar. So at this point (December 30, 2022), Mark Larson has not fixed my roof, has not honored his warranty, sent his brother to do his dirty work and left me with an expensive clean up. I would not recommend either one of these men nor their companies to do any work at your homes. read more

After a couple cancellations, they came to install 7 doors. Said it would be one day, but it one one, then a week, then the second. My floor is ruined in 3 areas and one of the door frames is split. I called but did not receive a call back so called Dixieline, the store it was contracted through. They called right back and were nice and came right away to take a look and take pictures, but it's now been weeks without a call back, despite me leaving a voicemail. Wish this stuff wasn't so hard! read more

I have spoken with the owner several times since my complaint. Here's what happened: 1. He apologized and sent a worker to finish up the work the next day as a priority. 2. He followed up after the work was done with two phone calls stating completion update. And my tenants are happy with the new door. 3. We discussed both perspectives of the experience in detail where we both felt it went wrong. He requested that I reconsider my evaluation of his company. I feel it's safe to say that as a consumer your voice and opinion of him is important. He demonstrated this in his phone calls to me. The only way I know of changing my experience is to give him another chance. Thus I have asked his help on other projects and he is helping me to find the right people. I am happy that the job is done and I appreciate that he is accountable and values the client's opinion. read more

We had ML do a door and window installation a year ago. After that installation I would have given them 3 stars. It was adequate but his subs were sloppy and there were some pretty easy things missed in thier install (loads of sealer globbed on in some places, in ther places, sealer missing entirely, flashing not properly installed and coming loose). We let Mike know about the issues and he called a couple times but never followed through on the punch list so we just had someone else address some of those concerns as they were relatively cheap to fix. Fast forward to a year later and we are replacing the floor in the house and when we took up the laminate it's eveident that ML's crew didn't seal one of the doors correctly and it's been leaking since it was installed. The subfloor is rotted down to the joist. Thankfully we tore up the floor for this reno or we wouldn't have see it until even more damage had been done. I called ML to come have a look. Scheduled an appointment that was cancelled and rescheduled. He came out on time the following day, looked at it and said he'd have to call me to schedule time to come out and do a water test later that week. Dude, I have a hose, or a bucket of water or a sponge within 5 feet of here why do you need to come back? I'm trying to get this addressed to finish up this floor. 3 days later, still no call back to schedule a time to do the water check I was actually able to do myself by running my hose over the door. I can only imagine how long it would take me to get his guys out to fix the damage and the poor install they did and honestly at this point, why bother since they clearly don't know what they are doing? I would avoid using him if I were you. Even a job that looked reasonably well done (though not exceptionally well done for the price) turned out to have a pretty expensive mistake hiding below the sub-par work that was visible. The doors themselves were great. Everyone we dealt with at Dixieline was fantastic and I would 100% buy from them again in a hearbeat but I have no idea based on some of these reviews why Dixieline recommends him for installs. read more

They did an excellent job installing the door and it looks beautiful. They covered my floors and kept everything clean. I appreciated that because the house has been remodeled. I bought the door from Dixie Line and ML Larson installed the door. It was difficult coordinating and if you get frustrated contact Mike Larson directly. Be patient because he is busy. I was driving down the road today When wood from his Job Site fell off his trailer because it wasn't bolted down or strap down and I ran it over I turned around and followed him back to the scene where he acted like he did nothing wrong telling me how there is no damage to my car yet he never even looked underneath it and he's not a mechanic acting like he wasn't negligible and didn't do something wrong Was unapologetic and telling me how if there was any damage it wasn't that it wouldn't cost anything it was gonna be a couple of dollars and then laughed. Then when I said I was going to call the company he told me he was the owner if that's true I think you care more about your company name and the way that you look in the community and definitely not be acting like that read more

We purchased a new front door and Mike Larson was the contact to install it. Chris did a wonderful job with the work. Follow up and customer service is outstanding. Larson construction was sub contracted out by dixieline to my hoa to replace 20 front doors. I cant talk about costs, contracts, etc because that was all done through dixiline. However, I can talk about their work and customer service. They scheduled and appointment to do the install 3 days prior and arrived on time the day of. They ripped out the facade and door and replaced it with the new one. When they were done, they cleaned everything up and left no mess at all. The only issue with the install was a gap between the door and interior wall. I let mike know, and they sent out a dry wall guy the next week. Its been about 3 months now and I've had no issues with the door or install. read more

The Job is Not complete and he gave us his word he would Finish. My GC unfortunately paid him In Full before he was done - and now Mike is long gone. Mike Larson contracted through Dixieline installed a Milgard window for me and put it in the wrong place. I wanted the window centered and he placed it based on where the current header was. He needed to add a new header and didn't want to do the work. He was rude and didn't listen to the customer. His prices were higher than the others who came in and fixed his work. Mike and his team just completed a project for us at our home, removing a set of French doors and installing a window in its place. It included some construction of a low wall, installation of sheetrock and exterior stucco repair, involving coordination among the various disciplines. All was completed smoothly, timely and with a very positive result. We intend to use them again in the future for additional projects and would highly recommend them to others! read more

Mike personally came out and measured the job. Unlike Home Depot who sends out a 3rd party to measure the job. You may say well as long as you can read a tape measure it should be fine! when the person measuring the job isnt installing they make mistakes. Home depot made mistakes on 5 of my 9 windows/doors ordered. I had them all sent back and went with ML Larson Construction instead! Mike is a true professional. he gave a great estimate in cost and time till completion. install went smooth with no hiccups. i had stock size windows and custom size windows. all fit very well! its been a year since install and everything works like its brand new! read more

Mike Larsson is a wonderful person and I am sure if he would have done the window installation himself, it would have been great. BUT once the contract is signed, all you see is subcontractors who do the sloppiest work, and Mike is nowhere to be seen. He does not come out to inspect the job, and he leaves it up the homeowner to inspect. If I wanted to be my own General Contractor, I would not have hired him! I am so disappointed! read more

Mike Larson's company installed a replacement front door as a contractor for our local Dixieline. The work was poorly done. On the outside, they left a 1" gap running under the threshold causing the door frame to flex if anyone placed their weight on it. They also did a really ugly job siliconing the interior door frame. It looks as if it were applied by a 2-year-old, with globs of silicon sitting on a $10,000 solid wood cherry doors. It looks awful. It took 6 months to get Dixieline to force Mike Larson to come out to our house and look at the work his men did. The assistant manager of Dixieline on Convoy and Mike Larson finally came to our home today to inspect the work. It was a tweedle-dum / tweedle-dee act that they must have rehearsed before visiting. They were both in denial that the work was sloppy, said they really didn't have to repair the 1" gap that had been left under the door frame as that was not part of the door installation work. However, in fairness to them, the gap was repaired. So we are left with beads and globs of silicon on top of the interior molding making a (once) very attractive door look like it was installed by amateurs. I used a flashlight to show them the globs of silicon because the interior of the door is set in a dimly lighted area. Mike told me that without the flashlight beam shining on the spots, that no one would really notice the work. I eventually got tired of listening to their denials and nonsense and kicked both of them out of the house. I will have to have a professional door installer repair their work. I would stay away from Dixieline for doors and from Mike Larson for the installation work. read more

After a mjor debaucle with installing an exterior door that a previous contractor did, M. L. Larson Construction did a first class job. We've had a fair amount of work done in our house and this job has probably been the most successful we've had done. Mike is a professional! Highly recommended. read more

M.L. Larson Construction has installed doors and windows in 3 residences for me. Mike is a great guy to work with and does all the measuring and has good crews working for him who clean up after themselves and are pleasant guys. They've installed new construction Marvin Integrity Fiberglass windows in an old house that was to be re-stuccoed, and Milgard Tuscany Vinyl replacement windows in a 2-story home. Mike has a great drywall guy if needed. I love the new Milgard Tuscany Vinyl glass sliders. If you have a home that has wood rot or termite damage, this can slow the job down since that issue has to be addressed before the window/doors can be installed. Mike's guys do residential and commercial jobs and they are a very busy company. read more

Had ML Larson replace 11 windows in my manufactured home in May. They were the recommended contractor through Dixieline where we purchased the windows. First visit was to discuss what we wanted to do, what was possible to do, and his experienced recommendations. He carefully measured each window and was able able to provide exactly what we wanted as a retrofit, saving us a lot of money. (Two other contractors told us retrofit windows were not an option for us). The day of installation, two workers showed up and in about 3 hours had all of the old windows out. The third worker showed up with the 11 windows on a trailer, and the installation was complete by 2:30!!! Everything went perfectly and after they cleaned up, you wouldn't even know they were here. There was one spot, about 12 inches long where they missed an outside caulk line, but I dealt with that easily. Workers were polite, quiet, and worked steadily. I would definitely recommend ML Larson and will call them again for other work if needed. read more
