We just finished our third major remodel with Gilbert Construction in about six years, and they have completely transformed our house. Our first remodel was an above the garage addition with two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room space, large closet and balcony. Last year we remodeled our kitchen (knocked down a wall, added several square feet of counter space, high end cabinets and a bar), and this year we remodeled our two downstairs bathrooms (relocated a toilet and sink, all new shower and bath, new floors and tiles). Honestly our house looks like it went through one of those home remodeling television shows. We love Gilbert Construction because they are able to take our somewhat fuzzy remodeling ideas and turn them into something spectacular. And they are able to take on any part of the project and clearly have the knowledge and skills to handle complex jobs. We love that it's a family run company that we've come to know and trust over the last several years. Their prices are extremely reasonable and fair. Chad and Greg have a lot of ideas that add small touches to a project that really complete the space. For us it was things like centering the kitchen sink with our kitchen window, using the hexagonal shower floor tile as a backsplash for our bathroom vanity, etc. that really added to the final look of our remodels. I contacted Lyn in regards to an extension. I was referred to his office manager, Lisa, whom I chatted with. I was sent the companies website and some additional information to consider prior to contracting this construction company. My husband and I finally completed the research regarding funding and were ready to go. We were disappointed to have been told the company is not taking on projects. Additionally, the change in "attitude" we experienced once it was decided they were not going to take on the project was more disappointing. I was told they were booked for a couple of months; however, we were not looking for an immediate addition. There was no consideration for a project to be scheduled for the new year. Frankly, we felt "blown off."I would like to think that the welcoming and efficiency one experiences as a tentative customer would be more than a marketing ploy to engage in business. We moved to Alpine and purchased a home that needed a lot of updating. We had the kitchen and one half bath done by Home Depot. We were not happy with the work that they did. We needed more remodeling but did not know who to go with. Two co-workers recommended Gilbert Construction. We saw the work that they had done for them and decided to give them a try. We are so glad we did. So far we have had them remodel four bathrooms, one large office/laundry room, they removed a wall and made another half wall for us. We also used a roofer that he recommended. We added a 2 story 700 sq ft addition to our home and used Gilbert Construction for the project. They were excellent to work with. Greg had great ideas for our remodel (he has lots of experience to draw from). He very patiently explained everything to me so I could understand what would happen and when. He scheduled subcontractors so that the project kept moving forward easily. All of his subcontractors are professional (no scary people walking through my house--which I appreciated because I have small children). And in the end we have a beautiful remodel that came in at budget and 1 month early in schedule.
