Tire ended up exploding because we were sold a bad tire. Total cost for us $1100 to repair the issue they caused. I've been coming to J & R Tire since before they've moved to this location and I've recommended them to everyone I know. The owner is very friendly, however we were completely screwed by them recently and it ended up being very costly for us. 6 months ago my husband went there for a nail in the tire. They said the integrity of the tire was compromised so we bought a used tire from them. We got home, parked in our garage and the following morning the tire is completely flat. Rim to the ground. We call J&R Tire and they said to come in and they'll put another used one. Tire has been fine since October until we got another nail into the tire. It was right in the middle of the tire so the walls weren't compromised. We brought it back in and the owner said they can't get the bolts off, the threads are stripped and to take it back to whoever last touched the tire. They were the ONLY ones to touch the tire. The owner claimed it wasn't them and that their guys don't do that, but it was. It's absolutely ridiculous to be adults and have a "yes you did! No we didn't" argument. They refused our car and even said they don't do 17mm bolts. After back and forth arguing, we left. So we took it to another place and was told the bolts were stripped so bad, they need to drill it out and a new hub needs to be purchased. $950. We've called 4 different places for a quote, $950 was the cheapest we could find. I call J&R multiple times to complain and he keeps saying it's not his issue. He swears up and down he doesn't remember servicing our car. I believe he knows how costly this issue will be and refused to acknowledge his shop was responsible. On our way to the tire place, the whole tire just blows up. As we roll it into the shop, the technician there informs us that we were sold a very bad tire. A tire shouldn't explode from a nail especially based on the location of the nail. Our $40 nail fix is now $950 + $175 for a new tire. If you care about your car, do not go to this place. We made the mistake of trying to save $$ by getting a used tire and it ended up costing $1100.

They care about the customer's needs, for sure. I'm getting my car looked at right now, and the front desk makes sure to tell you how long it'll take, listens to additional needs, and makes sure that you're good to go. I didn't have to pay since they couldn't provide the service I requested, but they did give me tips on how to best approach my issue. High value business over here.

I didn't bother arguing because I knew I didn't trust them after that. I left and came here. Brandy immediately started checking my tires and told me my tires were perfectly fine and I only needed one new one because the tread was no where near low. She even taught me how to check the tire tread in the future. She was incredibly knowledgeable and validated my rage when I explained what Discount Tire said to me. As a woman, it's nice to know there are honest shops out there. I am only coming to Les Schwab in the future. Amazing service today!

The guys were wonderful and so kind about it, and they ended up finding a different puncture that was right next to a spot that was previously patched, so they had to take that out to redo the whole area. They stayed after close in order to make sure it was properly repaired, and the guy there did a wonderful job explaining what happened and that my TPMS meter would still be freaking out for a bit until I drove on it enough to get a proper read. That would definitely have freaked me out if he hadn't said anything, I am not a car person haha. Once my TPMS meter started working again, I realized that he had also filled up my tire pressure on my other 3 tires to keep it even with the one he patched because they had all been a little low. That was the final cherry on the cake that made me come to Yelp to write this review - they went above and beyond to take care of me for a FREE!!! TIRE REPAIR. They were not going to make any money on that, the store was about to close, and they went above and beyond anyway. I wish I had gotten the name of the mechanic but I was in a hurry to get out of their hair since it was after close. Really appreciate these guys and the service here, will definitely come back!!

New tires etc. Because of my ever changing work hours it's difficult to make an appointment. I typically walk in as soon as they open and they're usually able to accommodate. Today there was only 1 car in the bay, and nobody waiting to get in. I was not able to get in today as the girl behind the counter insisted that I leave my car there all day. I told her that wasn't possible, never offered another option, so now I'll need to go elsewhere. This is not how you should treat a loyal customer! Maybe she was controlling the amount of work she had to do...very disappointing!
