MK was fantastic from start to finish -- and we are very picky about contractors. Our chimney was unusable (dangerous) with tons of water damage, the brick was waterlogged, damaged and cracked flue and a cracked cap. Also, massive mortar gaps up top. We reached out for several bids in the area and opinions on which route we should take and MK was quick to respond. Ben came out and met with us for a free quote. He was very friendly and honest after another contractor had given us a bid that was over double what it should have been and wanted to instead do a cheap fix that would not be warrantied and would leave us with an unusable fireplace. Ben recommended a rebuild for a good price with a warranty and seemed very knowledgable. We got a few more bids and opinions but really liked Ben and the work he had shown us and his eagerness to work with us, so we gave him a call with our lowest bid and he matched it. Within 2 weeks, they started work and they had the job done within about 4 days. They put down tarp to not ruin our grass with the scaffolding and protection over the chimney to avoid any rain damage. All I can say is that it was such a quick, easy and hands-off experience. The workers were all respectful and and didn't leave any trash behind on site. They stayed all day and took a lunch and worked rain or shine. I really felt like we were in good hands with knowledgeable people and warrantied work. I checked online first to verify that they were licensed, bonded, and insured and everything is legit. I'm glad we now have a usable chimney, rather than just a sealed one that doesn't work (and would need another repair within a few years) and that we didn't have to pay over $25k for the rebuild. I highly recommend MK for chimney services or rebuild work. The work is beautiful and it is a huge upgrade in every way from what we had before: it looks beautiful, it works, and we no longer have to worry about it. read more

Super quick and reasonable service by the technician to clean our two chimneys. They probably haven't been cleaned in 20+ years (doubt the old owner ever did) but they still charged us a very reasonable amount. The technician came out and was able to clean them same day as estimate. Professional, tidy and friendly. Would work with these guys again! read more

A little more than what I had expected but quick, professional and friendly service. Definitely on the short-list for future projects.

Without a doubt this was one of the best service experiences I've ever had. The team, the work, the communication, and the price were all unbeatable. Our chimney was falling apart - the crown was crumbling, we had no working dampers, and then the mortar started to disintegrate. Johnny and Benjamin got me a quote quickly and came in well below the 3 other companies I got quotes from. Additionally, they didn't try to upsell me and at one point they told me I definitely didn't need an expensive addition another company had recommended "If this was my house, I wouldn't get that because it's not useful at all in your case". I've rarely experienced such a genuine sales moments like that. Our chimney now looks fantastic - the mortar is crisp and strong, the crown was completely rebuilt and came with a better warranty window than the competitors, and the stainless steel caps and damper look perfect. Ruben, who did a lot of the mortar and cement work was a great guy and Benjamin walked me through all parts of the finished product in the end. Beyond impressed and I plan to recommend MK to anyone I know who needs any kind of chimney or roofing repairs. read more

Overall MK Home Services was great to work with for our chimney repair work. Trish was very responsive in her communication. Zack was great at teaching us about the parts of our chimney that needed repair so we are more informed and knowledgeable, and took pictures of the work that needed to be done. Zack was friendly and quickly got us an estimate for the job. MK Home Services did the work on the agreed upon day for the estimated price. The only negative about our experience was that MK didn't show up at the agreed upon time but apologized after and came out the next day. I would definitely hire MK Home Services again. The final chimney repairs look great and they followed up with good photos of the repairs upon work completion. read more

Benjamin provided me with a quote for maintenance/repair of two chimneys -- new crowns, new flashing, washing, and water sealing. Of a handful of quotes I got from a few businesses, his price was the best. We got the work scheduled for about a week after signing. His subcontractor came out and took care of most of the work, and Benjamin came later to ensure the quality of the work and help with finishing touches. One of my chimneys was particularly hard to clean due to an obstructing staircase below it, but they were able to pull it off! The work looks good, and I feel confident that my home will be protected from water intrusion. read more
