My goodness, their food was good! My boyfriend's pork was easily the best fried pork we've ever had at a Japanese restaurant. He hated that they put a paper doily under his pork though. We understand it was to absorb grease or for decoration but it took him a few minutes to pull all of it off of his food. I recommend they just leave that out of the dining experience. My chicken teriyaki was great too. Our only complaint is having to ask twice for basic things such as a straw or utensils. The ambience is modest yet serene. We probably wouldn't eat-in again due to the questionable service but we would definitely drive those extra miles for take-out. I only took one star off because the food is superb.

Great good and great atmosphere. I was quite shocked in the location, but once inside it's a very well put together Japanese restaurant. The miso soup was great and warm, the options for sushi rolls and cut are vast. And the tempura ice cream was a little hard, but still good. The staff was tentative to filling beverages and food came out fresh and quick. I would eat here again.

I keep it pretty simple when it comes to sushi, but I really liked this spicy yellowtail roll. Also tried the lava roll but my fav dish was their rock shrimp. It was still so crispy even with ordering takeout!

Had a huge tempura craving, and Mizu gave me my fix. Their unique sushi pizza is a handful of sashimi on a scallion pancake and it's super delicious. Their tempura wasn't super crispy even though I ate it within 10 minutes of picking it up, but the taste was still good. The rolls were also your standard spicy rolls, had a tiny kick, and were satisfying. Overall really like this place if you only have one or two things you're really craving, and their food is good quality.

Kenny performing precise knife work behind the sushi bar. More sushi for American palettes atop, below fresh fillets of delicious fish.

Fantastic fresh sushi! Simple perfect sashimi for the delicate palette or Americanized rolls with bolder flavors. Great kitchen entrees and appetizers as well. I'm always treated like family here! Have ever and always had exceptional meals and conversations at Mizu! ***Survived and thrived doing a magnificent take out business during COVID, now opening up for sit down service...following all appropriate guidelines.

3 rolls for $12 for lunch! It also comes with salad and miso soup :)

*UPDATE* Pretty rude that they won't deliver outside of a 3 mile radius! I find that unfair / hard to believe because West Windsor is a fairly large town, and they're so limiting with their delivery??? Their prices and sushi quality still deserve 5 stars, but i do want to note that their delivery is limited... Amazing sushi, very fresh and inexpensive, plus they have brown rice sushi! I've only had their sushi, not so much their hot kitchen foods. But I can say that their sushi is fresh, there is so little rice on the sushi, which gives the sushi taste what it deserves since it's not diluted by overwhelming rice. Also, they have Uni (sea urchin) which is hard to find!! The service is great, and the ambiance is comfortable. And the lunch special is very worthwhile!!

That is what you get when you get great eats at Terakawa Ramen. As you enter, you'll notice the wall murals with the chefs on one side and the opposite wall has anime customers slurping their ramen. Yes, it's perfectly fine to make those loud slurping noises to show your appreciation for a great bowl of ramen. Here's what was ordered: - Signature Terakawa Ramen - 4.5/5 stars Boasted of rich, lovingly homemade pork bone soup with a good amount of sliced roast pork, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, ginger, scallions, and a jammy egg. The straight thin noodles were al dente. They maintained their texture in the broth, brilliantly. The broth was deep and flavorful. - Pork belly Donburi - 4.5/5 stars The juicy tender pork belly was plentiful, sliced perfectly as their we're not too thick nor paper thin. Their flavor was rich, savory with a balance of sweetness from the soy dashi sauce. Elegantly layered in top of a humongous bowl of seasoned rice, along with a sprinkle of scallions, pickled radishes, and sesame seeds. The photo on their menu does not do it justice. I would have loved a jammy egg to be included to bring the dish to the next level. - Gyoza - 3.5/5 stars 5 pieces of Pan-fried gyoza dumplings with their dumpling sauce. I would prefer them to have been fried a bit more. The balance between their pork and cabbage was even. They were delightfully light in both taste and texture. The service was very good. Both Willie, the owner, and a charming waiter named Sung served us. Sung kept coming over checking in to attest our cups were full, and if we needed anything else. I was told the have two locations: Philadelphia and the one we're dining at, Princeton Junction, NJ. Both locations serve homemade recipes from the Kumamoto region of Japan. Even if there is a wait, we have never waited longer than 30 minutes for a table. The service is very prompt and waiters are very good at checking on you and refilling your drinks, cleaning up your table, or asking you if everything is good. The food is ordered via paper and pencil, you select what you want and provide it to the waiter. They send the order to the kitchen and you receive the food when it comes out. For an AYCE buffet, the fish quality is consistently pretty good at Hiro. They offer Nigiri and Sashimi on the menu, as well as classic and specialty rolls. If I could suggest one thing it'd be adding hand rolls to the menu. The tuna and salmon here are consistently good and the yellowtail was surprisingly good. They have a bunch of different appetizers ranging from edamame, sushi pizza, to tartar, most of them are actually very good. The kitchen entrees are very good as well such as the kimchi fried rice and the Mongolian beef. Although it's not the most spacious inside, the way they set up the booths and tables it gives you enough separation from other tables to not feel super crammed inside. Highly recommended for an AYCE sushi spot in Central NJ!

Best Soufflé Pancakes ever!…read more Now that I've actually been to Japan I can honestly say I crave these pancakes more than the ones I had overseas! These pancakes are more fluffier and eggier (I think that's a legit word, LOL), and super rich! If you don't like eggs, don't visit because there is a lot of eggy flavor. I've tried the two dominant flavors, Matcha and Strawberry, and I can't tell which one I like better. The light cream topping is better than any butter or maple syrup I've ever had. There is usually one more flavor that they change from time to time as well which I've heard is great. Going on the weekday avoids the wait. J S Foodies is the latter, a small and cheerful outpost of Tokyo imagination where breakfast behaves like theater. I arrived with my boys and my father in law, a man celebrating another year of survival in a universe that has not yet figured out how to improve pancakes. The space is small, and the famous Kiseki pancakes take their time, about twenty to thirty minutes, as if they are being persuaded into existence rather than cooked. These Kiseki pancakes are not pancakes in the American sense. They are soufflé style creations, tall and trembling, as if gravity is only a suggestion. They arrive airy and delicate, with a gentle jiggle that suggests optimism. We ordered accordingly. I had the lemon ricotta, which tasted like sunlight had been filtered through dairy. My oldest chose matcha, green, purple and quietly sophisticated and complex. My youngest went with the original maple, a classic executed so well it made the classics feel new again. All were excellent, the sort of food that makes conversation pause because mouths are busy being grateful. My father in law ordered what I personally considered a cautious breakfast. Regular pancakes with eggs and bacon. A meal that could have been assembled in any roadside diner between here and forever. Yet even this was handled with care. The eggs were perfect, the bacon honest, the pancakes dignified. No irony, no shortcuts. Yes, the prices are a little steep. But this is not a place for routine nourishment. This is a place for occasions, for birthdays, for reminding yourself that breakfast can aspire to something like art. Five stars, because sometimes the world surprises you by getting something exactly right.
