I've been ordering their lunch specials for awhile now and the last 3 times it's just been getting worse with each additional order. They also have free California rolls/shrimp tempura rolls depending on how much you order. Their miso soup that comes along is also good. As a Williamsburg local I've tried various sushi options in the area--Ako, Fushimi, Aburi, Sumo, Fukuyama, etc.--but Mizu is the one I keep coming back to for two reasons. 1) I love their spicy scallop roll, which is a bit more unique on a menu, and 2) they use very little rice in their maki rolls so you get to fill up on actual food, not just rice. I've been completely spoiled for rice-to-fish ratios for maki rolls now! Other restaurants just feel like carb rolls in comparison. Other maki standbys in my order: salmon, yellowtail scallion, spider roll, lobster avocado, spicy california, spicy blue crab california. While you won't be getting top-of-the-line fish or anything, the food tastes great and there's a reason I've been coming here on at least a weekly basis for several years now. read more

You can get three rolls for $14 for dinner, and special rolls are around $12-14 each. The sushi was fresh, but nothing life changingly delicious. I called the restaurant to report this and they tell me they will just give me a free side of edamame and refund me the rolls after i told them i also had to throw out the rest because obviously i have no desire to finish the rest. I called back today to give them a second chance and ask them if it was possible to replace yesterday's lunch with a bento box-same price as the napkin soaked sushi set. They informed me they can only give me my complimentary side of edamame. I've been ordering from them the past month and I've had all their $11 bento boxes for lunch. The bento box is a lot of food, a truly great deal. It usually comes with 6 California rolls, salad, soup, rice, a meat (shrimp, salmon, chicken, etc). Again, it's a superb lunch deal. Today I decided to try their chicken soba. It came with lots of vegetables and I haven't had a good chicken soba in NY, all noodles are like Lo Mein, but Mizu's soba is similar to the soba I had at the Japanese neighborhood in São Paulo, Brazil (the closest I've been to Japan). They have a tricolor lunch special which has pieces of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon nigiri and a California roll. Heads up that this also comes with a miso soup and salad (it doesn't say so on the online ordering menu, so I ordered separate miso soup and ended up with two). Also, I wanted my sushi with brown rice but there was no box to check so I left it in the notes, but they called me and said that I'd have to have an extra $2 in cash ready if I wanted the brown rice as it wasn't included in the online total. I should warn that I realized that the delivery.com menu prices are higher than the menu prices they list on their website. I paid $13.50 for the tricolor lunch when I ordered online and on their online menu it says it's $12. Considering they also have a $15 minimum I'm not thrilled that they'd raise their prices, but I understand that they might lose money on these delivery services and that a lot of restaurants do this. Anyway, if I'm really craving sushi and I'm really feeling lazy (two things that are very likely to happen), I'm fine paying an extra $1.50 for good quality fish and fast service. Came for an early dinner so the restaurant wasn't at all busy. We were seated immediately by a very pleasant waitress, given our menus and offered water. Prices were really affordable and their were also specials that included soups or salad as part of the meal. The sushi bar boasted lots of fresh-looking cuts of fish and the few diners present seemed to really be enjoying their meals. We ordered a variety of meals to share. Sushi was indeed fresh and tasty. The fried rice with shrimp was delectable, Miso aoup was the perfect temperature and not at all salty, and the chicken teriyaki was to die for. One of the reasons I love sushi is that unlike many other edible items, it looks gorgeous. You feel bad eating it. It's like eating the Mona Lisa if Leonardo da Vinci had been a baker. It should not look ugly. No sushi chef should allow this to be so. No sushi chef should even be capable of making a bad looking roll.
