Maybe the chicken is supposed to be cooked with no seasoning, but i promise the cobb salad at Gott's in Walnut Creek is absolutely delicious as they flavor there chicken with asado seasoning. Wait a few mins and still nothing they look slammed but they need a better system. Well, I was so hoping to find a good salad option but this ended up being a bummer. Ordered the Zesty grain bowl. Pros: Decent size for a lunch salad. Mini-kale was tasty. Sufficient dressing. Easy pick-up process (keeping in mind the standard atrocious parking in that neighborhood). Cons: Totally contaminated by things that were not supposed to be in there including a bunch of peppers (not ordered, not in the ingredient list). I ordered two salads for delivery from Oakland Mixt, and received someone else's order. I tried to contact Mixt, no phone number where you can talk to a live human, just a recorded message to request customer service through the website, which I did. Says they will get back shortly. They didn't. I also tried to contact the customer whose order I received, no response, so we drove over to Mixt to see if we could get our salads. I handed over the mistaken order, and asked if they really needed it back, thinking that since it was their mistake and the bag and box had been opened (before we noticed the wrong name on the receipt), that they would just let us have it to compensate for our time and inconvenience. But the employee said that the other customer said she was coming back to pick it up. Seemed strange to me, since why would she think we would go out of our way to return a mistaken order that had been delivered? Why would they give her a salad that had been opened? But no big deal, we picked up our salads and went home to finally eat. Then I got a message from the other customer, saying she had gone to that location (before we went) and they had made her salad fresh. She had seen our order there. So my hunch was right, I guess that employee wanted to take the salad for himself? He lied to us?? I sent another message to Mixt, asking for my delivery fee and tip to be returned, as well as some credit to compensate for our inconvenience and time, it took over an hour to resolve this. Its been 48 hours and I still haven't heard back from Mixt "customer service". I just send the third message. I do like their salads, but the quality control has definitely gotten worse since I started ordering from them. The salads used to be nice and big, more or less worth the price, but now it varies, sometimes a lot, sometimes not much more than half full. Same with the quantity of dressing, and the quantity of individual salad components. I also used to really like the pickled onions, now they're basically raw onions, very slightly pickled, like they rush it. I've been trying to contact their customer service to ask a basic question about their vegan salads and what is available because there is a discrepancy between their Uber eats ordering page and their own menu on their website, and one salad I was interested literally says it's $77, but that seems how it isn't even listed on the mixt website as a vegan option as that one has chicken. I had to scour the internet to find their customer service phone number and when I clicked on the options to speak to customer service they all gave error messages and then repeated the same voicemail dribble again. Sure, I can email them and wait 24 hours for an answer, but I want place an order this evening within an hour, which a quick phone call would resolve the issue but heaven forbid anyone have phone availability anymore because everyone is too chickenshit to speak on the phone these days and they don't have a chat option or anything that is efficient so if you actually have a question about your order or about anything they have available unless you were at the store in person you are out of luck. I don't know how business is run these days without offering any customer service whatsoever in an efficient manner. Tried this place for the first time last night having ordered through UberEats/Postmates. I had trouble deciding between creating my own salad or ordering one of their pre-designed creations. I ultimately decided to order the Bachelor after weighing the price of that salad against what it would've cost to customize with what would've largely been almost the same ingredients as I would've chosen. When it arrived, I was pretty stoked. It seemed like a good value given the size and weight of the container. It wasn't until I got to the hidden mound of caramelized onions and breadcrumbs hiding beneath the other ingredients that I realized I had been duped. A fraction of this amount of onions and breadcrumbs would've sufficed, but it's hard not to feel as though it was intentional to make the salad look and feel bigger than what I was actually getting. It's similar to chipotle where everything is made and you can select to make your own or choose an offering on their menu. I decided to go with a plate since I was craving something warm. I was debating between steak and fish and I ended up with the steak as the fish looked a little dry. I chose the brussel sprouts and sweet potato mash which hit the spot after a workout. All of the ingredients were fresh and the bacon was BACON, not them little bits other places try to pass off as bacon. The kale and mixt greens were vibrant in color and tender when eating. The portion was enough for me to eat half and save the rest for later -- which I didn't do, but I know for future that I could. If this is your first time going (as it was mine), I recommend taking a look at the menu (there are menus right by the door and online) BEFORE getting in line and ordering. Same thing for the onions and peppers on the tofu skewers. The flame was too high so the vegetables did not cook just got lightly seared on the tips. The quinoa salad with Dry and Pretty flavorless. Honestly everything about this place is consistently disappointing. The salads and recipes are bland and uninspired. Compare what Sweetgreen is doing against Mixt's menu and it's not even close. The Mixt salads are not only boring, they're stale--when is the last time they switched up this tired menu? Also, the "market plate" option is great on paper, but a terrible value. It's embarrassing to be serving old food from under a heat lamp. Really? I've had the steak, the chicken, and the fish, and the thing they all have in common is they were served lukewarm and tasted like they'd been sitting under the lamps for hours. You're better off finding food at a Golden Corral buffet than taking a chance on the market plate at Mixt. Finally, the staff: they are consistently dour and seem unhappy every time I go there. No one says hello. No one is friendly. With bad food and dejected employees, it's no surprise this place is often empty. It's a shame because there is so much potential here. read more

I was so looking forward to going here. I LOVE a big salad. Sadly, the two I ordered for takeout were really, really disappointing. Terrible, actually. First off, baby greens saw their heyday in hip 90's restaurants and then people realized that limp greens aren't fun. What about adding romaine, or better yet, butter lettuce? Something with a little backbone should definitely be mixed in. I ordered the Beetnik, and the Bachelor. Both were borderline disgusting. Each topping, which I was lucky if I could count three pieces of, was so mushy and poorly prepared that I actually had to consult the take out menu as I ate to remember what the heck I was eating! Potatoes are cheap! Caramelized onions are cheap! Beets and fennel are cheap! Why be so stingy? So few toppings and yet in the 10 minutes it took me to get home the salads were a flat damp mess. Gross. I can identify portions accurately and that was seriously no more than two ounces of steak on that Bachelor salad. $15! Cheap and insulting. Dear whomever was working the salad bar & register on 2/28 at about 5:45pm. I came in because yesterday I ordered a pickup salad from your website and when I got home I saw my salad was missing chicken and bacon, which was $5.50 with of missing toppings. I did not eat the salad, or open the dressing, etc. It basically looked untouched so you all could see what was missing and when I came home from work the today I took back the salad. When I handed over the salad and explained to you (unknown counter man with short brown hair) you not only didn't seem to care, but when I asked to have my salad remade with all the ingredients, you stated "that's what I first said" - well, I didn't hear you, nor am I giving you attitude. I just want my salad. Here's the kicker, he gave me the new salad and I walked to back to my car. I looked at my salad and it was STILL MISSING INGREDIENTS! This time it was the croutons!!! It's printed out!!! How did you miss it again!!! I had to go back (there is no parking around here, so I'm double parked and risking a ticket every second that ticks by) and let him know the salad was still incorrect. He put on a glove, dumped the croutons in my salad and handed it back to me. I asked to see my old lid with the list of ingredients because if I had to return again I was going to need to speak with a manager. He was a combination of annoyed and not caring. Finally, correct order. I get things happen, people mess up and missing items occur, but the reason I wrote this was because the customer service was awful. I didn't want a freebie. I didn't need them to grovel. I was just looking for an apology and a real effort to make it right the next time. I would think an almost $20 salad would warrant that. MIXT - Train your staff better! How your staff handles dissatisfied customers can make the difference between a future sale and a bad review. ALSO - do better food safety training. One of the options this guy gave me was to just add chicken and bacon to the salad I brought in. The day old salad, that had been out of your establishment and outside of your food safety control processes for over 24 hours. It's definitely nice to have a healthy option in Oakland! The ambiance is clean and bright and open. The salads are good, but for some reason this place leaves me wanting. None of the set salads have exactly what I want, so I always have to substitute or create my own. And then I have the problem I usually have with salad places: they limit my toppings to 5. And/Or drastically upcharge additional toppings. The kind of salad I want has a ton of veggies on there. The more the better. It's the draw of a place like this for me. Writing this review as a shout-out to Debbie who kept a smile on her face while fastidiously crafting salads for my friend and me. I'm not one to write reviews based on corporate incentives but will write this one for Debbie as she wholly deserves the credit and praise of upper management. We popped on in last Tuesday during the Warrior game half time and see that the whole Mixt crew is swamped with Caviar orders. Debbie maintained an upbeat attitude and was cordial throughout our entire wait in line. When it came time for us to order, she patiently explained the store's offerings and kindly helped us come to a decision. Mind you, this was all while there were a rush of online orders. My co worker and I were going to go to Panera in Emeryville for lunch to get a salad but saw this place and decided to try it instead. Both of our salads were flavorless. I got the falaf and she ordered the custom salad. Thank goodness the bits and pieces of falafel were in my salad cause it was the only thing that added flavor. I went medium with the dressing but couldn't even taste it. Unfortunately the guy who prepared my coworker's salad gave her a half empty container. As we watched everyone else getting their orders, the salads were bulging out of the containers/bowls. Someone else made mine and there was so much salad, it definitely was a two meal salad. She said there was no flavor either, not even in the dressing. Her salad contained: wheat berries, spinach, grilled asparagus, avocado, golden beets, shaved Parmesan, black beans, and avocado goddess dressing. The line was out the door and people seemed happy with their food, so we both felt like asking everyone about their salads and what they ordered, lol, we just didn't understand. I might go back because the salmon looked good but I believe the Starbucks salads are tastier and definitely prefer Panera's Fuji apple salad.
