Ordered to go Fast and friendly service. Street parking. Cute little dining area. Love the chicken mural. The sandwich requires a lot of napkins! Not a bad sandwich with hot sauce that creeps after! Chicken was juicy. Thanks!

Oh this can be on reoeat for me while moving around in Oakland. I appreciate the chick n substitute for their offerings. Sauces were delicious.

Proposition Chicken absolutely delivers! The food is incredibly fresh. They offer solid vegan and gluten-free options without sacrificing flavor. It has the fun, fast-food vibe you'd expect from a quick spot, and the quality honestly feels closer to a sit-down restaurant. It's a very close second to Chick-fil-A. Prices are definitely on the higher side. The taste and quality make it worth it. I'd happily go back again.

I recently discovered this chicken place and so glad I did! Although I've just gotten take out a couple times, each order of chicken fingers and roasted potatoes has been absolutely delicious. Each chicken fingers order contains three large pieces, celery sticks, and carrot sticks with a side of signature sauce. ($10) A large order of spiced roasted potatoes similar in shape as what's sometimes referred to as jojos elsewhere is a side option. ($4.25). And dessert options include different bar types ($4 each) that are good sweet treats occasionally. The restaurant is a smaller spot on Lakeshore Drive with probably about six tables or so with large windows facing the street which creates a cozy neighborhood feel. Each time I've ordered the staff has been welcoming and helpful. And the prices are reasonable for just about any occasion. Proposition Chicken is a tasty neighborhood discovery.

Stopped by Proposition Chicken on Lakeshore for a quick take home lunch. I just love their fried chicken salad! The chicken is nicely fried, the lettuce and veggies are fresh, and the dressing is delicious. Staff seem friendly and efficient even on a busy day. Highly recommend!

Review for takeout - salad with kale and chicken was very tasty. Their chicken is fried well and the kale for the salads is fresh. Good value for what you get at the serving size and price point.

2nd time having Proposition Chicken, but first time visiting the location on Lakeshore Ave in Oakland for breakfast. The person taking my order (Mike L) was very friendly and welcoming and presented options for breakfast and chicken offerings that come grilled or fried. Of course, it's the fried chicken breakfast sandwich with egg, American cheese, pickles, ranch on croissant bun for me! It was light, delicious and satisfied the crave. Friend enjoyed the classic breakfast with egg, cheese and bacon on croissant bun...simple but tasty Place is clean, items made to order and ready in about 10 mins. Metered parking and next to Peet's coffee.

Thanks for asking, Imran. Our chicken is free range, antibiotic and hormone-free, but not halal.

I'm forever grateful for that recommendation because they make some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I've tried a few items on the menu, but the one I always recommend is the Hot Italian. Everything about this sandwich is incredible. It's packed with flavor, and you can honestly tell it was made with care. I usually pair it with a bag of chips, and the total comes to around $18. It's absolutely worth every penny and always leaves me full and satisfied. The shop is consistently clean, and the customer service is always friendly and welcoming. I find myself going back over and over again, then telling myself I need to take a break--only to end up back there a few weeks later. That's how good it is. A couple of things to keep in mind before you visit: there's only limited street parking, so you may have to circle the block to find a spot. There's also not much room to wait inside, although they do have a bench or two where you can sit while your sandwich is being prepared. In my experience, the wait is usually around 15 minutes. I've honestly never been here when it wasn't busy, so expect a crowd. But once you take that first bite, you'll understand why. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. The deli is a nice size with a couple of benches to sit and wait for your food. You can look at the menu and order, plus grab a drink or chips. They have a nice variety of items to grab that go well with your sandwich. The service was friendly and quick. Workers were all kind, and we love that it's dog-friendly! Regarding the sandwiches, you can get a hot or cold sandwich. You can also build your own! Companion got the Hot Boy, and I went the Build Your Own route. The sandwiches are hefty, with lots of great meats and fillings, and for the price, very decent! I wish my bread were a bit more toasted and crunchier, but that's my preference. It hit the spot, and I'd be open to trying their other sandwiches. I don't often go to delis, but Brothers Deli was a nice place to try. We enjoyed it by the waterfront, which makes it a great picnic option. Find them off Park Blvd., with street and residential parking around.

I love that they use traditional cuts for the sisig. A generous portion of meltingly soft gelatinous pig's head (jowl, ears, snout, etc.) is loaded into a bubbly, crackly baguette-bolillo hybrid. The rich, seasoned pig drippings and runny egg yolk soak into the bread without turning it soggy, while the savory soy seasoning, creamy mayo, and mild kick from the chilies make every bite more delicious. I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

I had a frustrating experience at Little Lucca, primarily because of how the manager, Maria,…read morehandled a simple pickup issue. I placed two separate sandwich orders online through Clover for pickup under my name. I ordered them about 45 minutes before arriving. When I arrived, I showed Maria my receipts and gave her my name. She briefly checked and told me she did not have the orders. The line was long, so I understand things can get hectic, but it did not feel like she was making much of an effort to actually verify the orders. She even misheard my name and was about to hand a sandwich to someone else under a completely different name. At that point, I became concerned that one of my sandwiches might have already been given to another customer. After I continued asking her to check, she somehow found one of my orders in the same area she had already looked. However, only one of the two sandwiches was there. I showed her my Clover receipt again, including the date, timestamp, transaction information, and order details. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she told me she did not know how to use the Clover system and could only search by name. She then told me I needed to contact Clover myself. I was honestly shocked because she was the manager but said she did not know how to use the restaurant's ordering system. When I explained I could not find a customer support number for Clover and asked what she could do to resolve the missing order, her response was essentially, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." I asked how the restaurant communicates with Clover when there is a problem with the system or how they diagnose issues with the device. Again, she said she didn't know and that the owner was responsible for the Clover system. I asked if I could speak with the owner and requested a contact number. She refused to provide one and told me I could come in early on a weekday if I wanted to speak with them. I'm not from the area, so expecting me to make another trip simply to speak with the owner was not a reasonable solution. What made the situation even worse was that I did not receive a refund for the missing sandwich. I paid for two sandwiches but only received one. Despite showing proof of payment and the order details, there was no attempt to refund the missing item or offer a replacement. Whether the missing sandwich was caused by Clover, a restaurant error, or someone accidentally receiving the wrong order, I would have expected the manager to make a reasonable effort to fix the problem. Instead, I was essentially told it wasn't her problem. Mistakes happen. Technology fails. Orders get misplaced. I understand all of that. What matters is how a business handles the problem afterward. In this case, the customer service was extremely poor, and Maria's attitude made the situation considerably worse. I've also noticed other Yelp reviews mentioning similar customer-service issues, which makes me concerned this isn't an isolated experience. I hope the owner sees this review and takes the time to address what happened. Little Lucca might have good food, but good food doesn't excuse poor customer service or charging a customer for an item they never received. I paid for two sandwiches, received one, was not refunded for the missing sandwich, and was given no reasonable solution. Extremely disappointing experience.
