This is specifically for the Too Good To Go sandwich order which I got 3! I don't see the sandwich option often or it is gone very fast. I got 3 sandwiches for a great price and the portions are decent for a lunch. The pick up was fast and the order was ready to go. The staff was nice as well.

It's open, here's my soup to prove it.

I LOVE SOUP. Seriously, I'm a soup fan and could have it any day, including warm days. Ladle & Leaf is the re-boot of the Soup Company. They have changed up their interior and added menu items, but still offer some of their tried and true soup options. I love the corn chowder, Manhattan clam chowder, lentil, Smokey split pea, chicken tikka masala and the grilled chicken with Swiss chard soup. I usually get a regular size without bread and add on a half sammie. For my sandwich selections, I am a sucker for their tuna and get that most often - but will switch up with a turkey avocado or egg salad sometimes. I signed up on the app "Thanx", which gives you points for every dollar spent towards credit for more soup! I've already received 2 free soups and love the rewards program. Great place for an inexpensive lunch under $10 with lots of options. Get your SOUP ON!

Been a while since I've been over to the Oakland City Center. I was looking for a decent soup n salad place. Remembered there was a San Francisco Soup Co. Walked over n found Ladle & Leaf now occupies the space. They are on the Clay Street side of the Center across from the Federal bldg. The menu of salads n soup looked good. I liked the fact the allow you to make your own salad. Make my own is what I did. Chose my base..spring mix with 4 toppings (edamame, cucumbers, rossted mushrooms n olive tepenade and my salad dressing of choice was miso sesame vinsgrette. Delicious n fresh! I also wanted a bowl of turkey chili...loved it I will definitely return.

Best salad I've had in a really really long time. The options are endless here. Say good bye to lettuce and dressing. These are top notch gourmet salads. Once you try one you'll want to try more or create your own which I haven't done yet but I have tried the chicken chipotle and most recently tried their pomegranate hummus bowl. Was a little nervous with how much they piled on but omg it was amazing. The flavors together work so well I crave this salad now! This place is a must hands down. They are packed around lunch time but the line moves fairly quick.

Brussel Sprout Salad. They didn't add my Chicken.

I work across the street from Ladle Leaf.. the food had been good. I've tried the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Tomato Soup, pesto Turkey sandwich (the ciabatta bread was hard) , A Caesar Salad, The Brussel Sprout Salad. The last time I visited 4/6/23 I ordered the Brussel Sprout Caesar Salad I asked for the lady to hold the avocado and ask for chicken on top... They charged me $3 for the chicken (no problem) as chicken was not apart of the salad. I get back to my desk and there was NO CHICKEN!!! Although I was charged for it! They usually don't give you a receipt unless you ask for it. I sometimes request a Receipt. This time I was in a rush so I did not get one.. By the time I realized their mistake Ladle Leaf had already closed for the day. Being 6 months pregnant with Twins I was highly upset because I had mouth fixed on some that particular salad with CHICKEN!!! Going forward I'll just be checking my order before I leave the store!

This use to be my favorite salad place but they're not the same after reopening! dirty Kale!

I liked coming here more when it was SF Soup Company. I feel like now that they have a salad line AND a soup line, they are operating in a constant overly rushed state. Everyone who goes to City Center during lunch hour knows there'll be a short wait, but the staff here rush you through as though they've never seen a lunch rush...EVERY TIME! You can't even ask for extra cheese, once you've placed your initial order, they push you through the line. I'm not feelin' it. I just wish they would sloooooow dooooown.

    The store hours are there.

Soups are pretty good when you order through joyrun and get them cheaper, otherwise the regular price is kind of overpriced for what it is.

The Mexican Chicken Tortilla is not good. Lacked flavor, spice, and aesthetic appeal. Do not order if you prefer something fresh and spicy.

The $57 pre-fixe menu -- which changes every other week, is incredible in value. I don't think there's a better quality set menu in East Bay. Our meal started off with a trio of appetizers: a cured Atlantic mackerel, a lobster mushroom croquette, and a gulf shrimp chawanmushi. For the two of us, the perfectly fried croquette was our favorite item. The mushroom filling inside was such a wonderful punch of umami to start the meal. While I've had a bunch of chawanmushi in my life, this was the first time I've had a cold rendition of the dish. Between the appetizers and the main course, we had a vegetable potage soup. Like the appetizer course, there was also a mushroom incorporated in the dish, tying the meal together. The soup was incredibly complex, with multiple waves of flavor in each bite. For our entree, we had miso pork belly over a bed of rice with an onsen egg. I'm generally not the biggest fan of pork belly because of how fatty it often tastes, but I really enjoyed the preparation here. The pork belly is sliced thinner than you're typical piece of bacon, and the fat from the pork belly has been nicely rendered out so it doesn't coat your mouth with each bite. The onsen egg seemed like it would overwhelm the dish with its richness, but I found that it was a nice complement that went well with the rice underneath the pork belly. The spicy mustard bamboo shoots and the slivered onions helped balance out the richness as well. Last but not least, we had a Kyoho grape parfait for dessert. This was a refreshing way to round out the end of our meal. I loved the creativity of the pepper mascarpone anaglaise and also the texture provided by the almond cookie crumble. I cannot wait to stop by again to try out another one of Chef Asuka Uchida's pre-fixe menu.

Good spot for a healthy lunch in Uptown, but there were some things that were disappointing…read more I came by for lunch with a friend on a Friday afternoon around noon and it was empty when we arrived, though it got busier soon afterwards as the lunch rush hit. At one point I remember looking up and being surprised that most of the tables were occupied. I ordered the eel bowl for $15.75. It was ready around 10 minutes later and looked good, but my first thought was that it was a smaller portion than I expected, especially for the eel, given the price. I had to portion out the eel to make sure it was enough to last for all the rice I had. It's a good thing I wasn't super hungry, as I'm not sure this would've been enough food otherwise to last me until dinner. But the most disappointing part to me was the avocado slices that came with the bowl. The avocado was the hardest I've ever had; I couldn't even chew it. I took one bite and immediately spit it out and didn't touch the rest. As someone who loves the combination of unagi + avocado, it was very disappointing to me that they couldn't find a riper avocado for my bowl.

Today I had the off chance of sitting next to a person who was conducting their business LOUDLY. I asked them to tone it down. While conducting business I was afraid of them sharing business secrets/proprietary information to all those in the place, and me. When someone is speaking loudly next to you, there is not much choice but to listen. They said it was a "you problem"; in other words I was out of line by requesting a quieter repartee. I approached the rude snarky woman behind the counter and was again told it was a "you problem". Mind you I conducted myself politely while ordering and picking up my food. I am familiar with cafe etiquette and no other place I have been has loud people conducting business to the angst of others trying to relax in a cafe space. Customer service? nyet!
