$4.00 per slice x 2 $9.00 calzone $2.00 to add sausage to the calzone $1.00 for a water bottle The calzone was pretty darn good. I have had better calzones too! It was fresh and filling. The casing, the breading? It was a little hard so it took a bit to bite through. I I couldn't finish a lot of it so I had to bring the rest home. The staff were attentive and quick. Straight to the point I would say! A solid 4/5

Walked in was greeted very quickly. I love the aroma heavenly. I looked at the menu. Such a great variety. Prices very friendly. I purchased a slice of pizza. So huge. Went to the car ready to drive off. My daughter bit my pizza. She said oh wow! I'm going to purchase a slice. Every bit of season used you can taste. It was the most delicious pizza I've tasted. I love love pizza. Thank you for the wonderful service. The pizza and garlic fries! Delicious

Located in downtown Oakland on the intersection of 13th & Harrison Street and I pass by this place all the time so I figured I'd check it out. All I got was a slice which came out to $6 plus tax and tip which is a bit much in my opinion but bonus points for the convenience factor. The service was quick but there wasn't really anything special about the ambiance or the inside of the restaurant. The pizza itself was foldable, had a thin crust, and was hot. Decent enough pie shop if you're looking for something quick.

Margherita pizza (regular 14 inch)

I've walked by this place many times and have been amused by their mural that shows Steph Curry holding a pizza box. I finally got to try it yesterday and I ordered a margherita pizza, regular 14 inch size, for pickup online. The pizza was ready when we got there and it was a quick, smooth process to pick up the box. The pizza itself was pretty good overall, it wasn't particularly a stand-out compared to other margherita pizzas I've had, but the main part of the pizza was decently yummy and salty, without too much red sauce. The crust/bread part was rather plain, however. They only gave us one packet of parmesan, so we supplemented with leftover cheese packets we had at home, which definitely improved the flavor. Overall, the pizza is pretty thin and the crust is not puffy.

Meat Lovers Stromboli w/ sauce
Steve D.

It's Friday night in Oakland, and I went to try the Meat Lovers Stromboli at Basil Pizzeria! A stromboli is like a rolled pizza. It's fillings are your favorite pizza toppings stuffed into a giant tasty turnover. You slice it into segments, and dip them in the marinara sauce. A stromboli is not a calzone. A calzone is a folded pizza, and it's edges are crimped. The Meat Lovers Stromboli is delicious! I added extra cheese and mushrooms, and it still costs less than $20. This stromboli is loaded with Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Ham, Salami, Pepperoni, Sausage. Because it's a rolled pizza, it's easy to handle and not messy. The place was busy at 9pm on a Friday night. Looks like they were training a new guy to pass out orders. Well, my order was right!

Fried Ravioli

Everything I ordered was good! The Chicken Tikka Masala pizza was better than I expected; great flavor with a mild spiciness. The Funghi pizza was as good as I expected. Love me a pizza with Alfredo sauce. Fried raviolis were good, perfect little appetizer. The calzone was good too, but a little on the greasy side, probably because of all that meat that was trapped inside. And the cannelloni were the perfect little dessert. Service was quick, and the staff were super nice! Looking forward to coming back soon.

Chicken Alfredo pizza!

Came by on a sunny Wednesday afternoon for some pizza, we called ahead and was told pizza would be done in thirty minutes(which was perfect because our drive was 24 minutes)! This cute little pizzeria sits on the corner of 13th street. They have a 20% off a order of $35 or more right now and it's perfect if you order a pizza, calzone and some dessert(which is what we did). My boyfriend was unwilling to come at first, he's "cutting/leaning out". We're both pretty health conscious people, but he's been pretty strict about his diet. Well, when I opened the box in the car and he smelled the pizza... oh my did it smell amazing. He ate it and wasn't even mad that I ruined his streak! To simply put it, this place puts all the right herbs and spices on your pizza without making it greasy and heavy. That's what I love about a good pizza place. The owner was actually working the cashier too, and super nice! I appreciate business owner who are also working in the shop, and interact with their customers. What we ordered: - Chicken Alfredo pizza - cannolis - grilled chicken calzone(to bring home to his siblings). If you come here and want a fragrantly seasoned pizza, the Chicken Alfredo is the one. We'll definitely be back to try their other pizzas!

Cannoli. Really good!

Simple takeout spot with lots of chicken-y goodness. There's street parking nearby…read more My order was placed online and I got a text after my order was ready. I ordered the sando and fries combo and enjoyed them at the picnic tables nearby. 5/5 Chicken sandwich I'm no fried chicken connoisseur, but I really enjoyed this sandwich. My mild fried chicken sandwich was crispy and savory with a hint of sweetness. The coleslaw was a creamy tangy addition that paired well with the sandwich. It's nice they offer various spicy levels; the mild is flavorful without burning off your taste buds. 4/5 Fries were nicely spiced with cajun-esque flavors. Not spicy at all. They included a mysterious (aioli?) sauce that went well with the fries. Fries were crispy though without the pillowy insides I crave. The portion was huge, quite shareable. I also tried a few bites of the thick gravy seafood etouffee. Other folks in my party were impressed with the flavor and generally liked it, but I didn't care too much for it. You might enjoy it if you, too, enjoy curry-type food. I don't often eat fried or hot chicken, but I consider this to be one of the better spots locally.

Casual southern spot for fried chicken sandwiches. Don't be afraid to turn up the heat!…read more The menu offers flavorful versions of southern comfort foods. We ordered a chicken sando, the chicken and waffles, and a couple sides -- the greens and etouffee. The sandwich was the clear highlight: moist chicken thigh with a breaded crunch, covered by a thin layer of mayo coleslaw. The light, sweet crunch of the cabbage and carrots gave balance to the dark meat. The waffles were crispy but just soft enough you could wrap them around the chicken to make a sweet sandwich out of that dish too. The server was very friendly when we came. I expressed curiosity about the different heat levels, and he shared nuggets batter d in the medium and hot sauces. He shared our excitement at trying the hot stuff! For the record, the medium is hotter than your typical spicy chicken sandwich and probably a safe go-to. The hot level just cracks "painful" but not unmanageably so -- might be fun as a treat. TBH I was pleasantly surprised by how much flavor each sauce packed -- and how different they were. The medium is especially sweet. Go for the sando. Crank up the heat. It doesn't miss.

Just read Dominic B's (Yelp CM) review that you were closing your tap room, so rush over!…read more Cut and pasted from their website: "Dokkaebi (도깨비), the mysterious, shape-shifting creatures found throughout Korean folklore." Quality/Quantity - You have been on my list to visit since you opened. I drink your beers in most (if not all) the local Korean Restaurants in the Bay. And at some non Korean restaurants. Today I enjoyed your Chuseok Porter, well a few of them... This by far was my favorite of all the beers I drank and tasted here. Also tasted the following: Dokkaebi IPA - Light and refreshing. Lemongrass Witbier - I can almost taste the lemongrass, another light and refreshing beer. K-Beer - Again, another light and refreshing beer. My daughter had the Calamansi & Tea Lager - This actually had more flavor then all the beers I drank except my porter. Lastly, my daughter noticed the Hazy IPA, Hazy Seoul. But I could not/did not want to drink any more. I guess I might have to rush over again before they close. For our snacks we got: KFC, Korean Fried Chicken - Not as authentic as I would have preferred. Gimmari - Wow, a home run. It helped that I have never had this before! My daughter says we will go to K-Town next time we are in LA and she will introduce me to Korean "street food." Looking forward to it. Atmosphere - Small local brewery. They also own the "kitchen" and storage area next door, see pictures. Metered street parking, but not a problem on a Sunday. And free meter parking on a Sunday. Shared restrooms with the other businesses in the building, you need a key. See pictures. Open 4 days a week (well only for one more week..) from Thursday to Sunday. See Yelp or their website. Service - Counter service, just okay. Price - $44 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2020 and here since 2023. I am sorry to hear your tap room is closing, but I do admit it has taken me over a year to visit.... So I understand.

The people here are always extremely welcoming and patient with me as I slowly read through their beer selection. And their beer selection--absolutely amazing. As an Asian-American, I never thought I'd see Kimchi and Yuzu flavors for beer. Obviously, the first time we came here, we had to get flights to try all of their flavors. Whenever I have group events where I have to bring a pack of beer, I always try to bring a pack of dokkaebier :)
