These folks are great. I don't know why they hide their light under a blanket. I have been a Mac user for over 20 years but I had no idea that there was a computer repair shop of this competence and caliber in this town that repaired Macs. When the h.d. in my 2009 MacBook Pro started to go south on me back in Feb. I decided that I wanted to replace it with a larger capacity SSD from OWC but obviously Apple was not going to touch third party parts and I didn't want to take it to T.O. anyway. I was stymied until I ran across this great business on Yelp. They understood my problem and my goals immediately and devoted their attention to solving my problem post haste. Their shop rates were surprisingly modest and their speed and attention to detail was unsurpassed. With the new solid state drive and new battery the computer just blows me away now with how much better it performs than when it was new. Mitec I am so disappointed in your service, you took my laptop about 6 months and hoping that it will be fixed whatever the issue may be, I was told the part has to order from China, 3 more months of waiting, when the parts arrived you called and told me you can't fixed it and still charge me for not fixing it. I agreed paying your labor fee of $150 you quoted me over the phone to pay, I got so upset when my son came to pay $150 you added more to it, you wanted to charge me $294, and for what? you didn't fix my laptop. After 6 months of waiting and you wanted to charge me more money, smh.. I should've went to apple in the first place they fixed my laptop in one day, I rather pay more money in someone that knows what they're doing. Please don't charge people that much if you know you didn't provide the service they need. please treat people the way you wanted to be treated. I've been a client for awhile. First I should say that as a small business owner, there are so many tech needs and they are constantly changing. I don't know if a tech company is ever perfect, because just when they have it figured out, or when they have your system set, it changes and you have problems. There's a challenge in choosing a tech company - you want the attention of one excellent person, but you need the skill level of multiple people. Based on the size of our business, I knew I needed a company and not a solo person. Yet, with a company you're sure to get the odd time where a staff person has less experience or knowledge than you need. That has happened with me at Mitec. When it did, I took it to the owner and he fixed it immediately. Here is an owner who is involved and cares about his business. They are responsive too. They always call/email me back (how many companies don't?) and follow through on requests. Recently I had an emergency outage and needed help NOW, and for a few hours. I've been taking my Mac Powerbook to Mitec Solutions since 2009 and I've had positive experiences each time. You never know how good a company is, however, until a problem arises. That's when Mitec shone brightly. They replaced a logic board for me with a remanufactured part. It was the most cost effective solution for me and they assured me they had a reliable and reputable supplier. The board they used to replace mine was defective, so I contacted them within the store warranty period and they took care of replacing it for me at no charge. My boyfriend and I recently moved from Santa Clarita to Oxnard. After using At& T U-verse without incident in Santa Clarita, our service in Oxnard was ATROCIOUS! We don't have cable and use apps for all of our entertainment purposes so a fast, high bandwidth and RELIABLE internet connection is essential for us. After a long day of moving last Saturday, I just wanted Sunday to chill out, recuperate and watch some movies and shows. The internet was fine until about 10 A.M. when the TV started pausing every 10 seconds. By evening, the apps on our 4K smart TV couldn't even connect, and since the connection was so slow, I wasn't even able to do anything productive like pay bills or update my mailing address on our laptop. SO frustrating! I googled the best internet service providers in the Oxnard area and came upon Mitec Solutions' excellent Yelp reviews. They definitely met and even exceeded expectations. Excellent customer service and they quickly found a solution that gives us the reliable, fast and high capacity internet connection we need - for LESS money than we were paying AT&T. Mitec is the most responsive and caring computer repair service that I have ever used. Not only did Anthony go above and beyond to help me retrieve data, assess the level of damage on my computer and set me up with a loaner, he and his team also did an excellent job returning phone calls, emails and communicating with me the whole time. Computer repair seems to take longer than anticipated and what makes the difference on the other end is two things: the quality and geniune customer care, and the quality of the work itself. Really, if you look around, there are only a couple places in Ventura that really know how to fix Apple machines. Mitec is one of them, and having dealt with their competition down the street, I'll be going back to Mitec. I had a Mac Pro tower with a wonky intermittent power supply issue. Their techs tested it the day I brought it in, re-tested it the next morning and were finally able to narrow the issue down. Took three business days to fix (part had to be ordered) but it was overall a professional and polite experience. Labor rates are on par with other shops I have dealt with. The only reason I hope I won't be returning, is because I hope my machine doesn't break down again. :) read more

I signed up for high speed internet 6 months or so ago, and the experience has been awesome. They are so friendly and helpful, they actually make me feel like i am a valued customer, and i honestly have gotten used to businesses treating me like a bother, and like they dont need me. Last month my Alienware laptop stopped working...I tried the usual restore options...check for viruses...nothing worked...so after a search of local computer repair places I looked at Mitec. Decided to give them a call and explain to them what my issue was (was literally doing nothing...just sitting there and HDD light was on all the time...HDD usage was 100% constantly) and went ahead and took it to them them the next day. When I got there and after a short explanation of what the issue was...they explained how their diagnostics work and after a day or two I received a call stating that my HDD was failing (the tech said it went from operating from avg 96% to .01%) and that it would need to be replaced (I spoke with the tech for 10 min talking to him about my options). So I went with the strait replacement (1TB HD for another 1TB HD same brand) and then they tried to recover any data that was salvageable on the old HD (pics...videos...misc documents) and after 3 days they were able to recover much but not all of my old data and reinstall and set up for me. All told the fee was much lower than I expected...the work was great and I got back my laptop working as it should. The techs were very thorough in explaining what they found and answered all questions I had....they even tested all components of my laptop and made sure nothing else is wrong. So looks like whenever I need anything computer related wither it would be repair or even have one built...I will be returning to Mitec for it. I recently used Mitec for much needed help with a few external hard drive issues and a dead iMac. I'm fairly confident with my tech skills but I had been negligent with updates and backups, which brought me to Mitec in March. Casey worked magic and got what I needed from the hard drives (about a decade of photos!) and along with Anthony, after trying a few times themselves, assisted me in finding a place that could help me with my dead iMac. A lesson learned - backup, backup, backup! - with friendly people. When my IMac stopped working, I was devastated and at a loss as we (unfortunately) had not backed up our data as we should have. I feared that our financial information, photos encompassing 7 years, my sons' current college work and so many other irreplaceable items were gone forever. They are now called MiTec Solutions. Went in for a virus removal with my PC that was completely frozen. The guys there were helpful and speedy. When I dropped it off I was told their turnaround is 2-3 days. I dropped it off in the morning and got it back next day by 3. They got rid of the virus and tuned the whole thing up! It has been 10 years since I first called Anthony and Ryan for help with my Mac and PC computers. At our first meeting, I really wondered if these young men could do the job.
