No that would be soft serve was the answer. They do have real ice cream too. We were a bit slow on the uptake, and our sweet counter girl, Emily, who was in her 20s but looked 15, patiently explained the ice cream came in a cup and the milk shakes were soft serve only, because evidently their shake machine can't handle the hard real stuff. We caved, got soft serve. We wanted malts not ice cream sprinkled with malt. *sigh.* Bella, Michael and Kennedy looked on, in training with our youthful trainer, and Kennedy remarked, "You're living on the edge," It was her first day. Every single part of what we ordered was excellent. The chopped beef was warm, flavorful and juicy the green beans were seasoned perfectly, potato salad was perfect in texture and taste and temp (it was slightly cold). The sandwich was a little involved to eat but the flavor and texture was incredible. And the sweet counter lady gave us wet napkins and dry ones to make sure we could clean ourselves up. My friend is new to this country and is now afraid to eat Italian food again. I tried to assure her it's not all this bad. The service was quick. We received our food pretty quickly. The atmosphere was your average pizza shop. This is rated one of the highest Italian places in Memphis, but maybe Memphis just doesn't do Italian food if this is considered 'great'.
