I've barely finished swallowing the burrito I just ate while driving and pulled up Yelp to leave this 5 star review. God brought me to this restaurant. Last night I was kept up late covering for a coworker that was off and I was so tired this morning I forgot my meeting today was moved to Forrest City from Memphis so I went to turn around here and got hungry. I was sold at "breakfast burrito" but the 5 star average review only made me more excited. I prayed last night at 2:30 am that God would give me strength to make it through this presentation today knowing I had to get up at 5am to drive. This was divine intervention. I walked in so excited that the cashier went from saying hello to being the most delightful human being I've ever met. I could not decide because I wanted everything so I settle for just 2 burritos. One for now and one for later: Sonja and Karen. They were made fresh and took less than 10 min. When I got in my car and opened the box for Karen, I felt a brief moment of pause and disappointment bc the burrito looked a little small. I was worried all the hype would be for not. It was dripping in syrup. I bit into it and the trauma bond of exhaustion and nerves from last night to this burrito experience this morning was complete. It was so good I felt like I couldn't tell someone about it without them thinking I was lying. I could've eaten 4 of them. After finishing it (quickly) I texted one of my best friends that lives 14 hours away, "I just ate a breakfast burrito so good, I moaned a little." I didn't make Sonja wait any longer. I had to have her right now. After opening her box up, I was met with a much fuller and large burrito that looked even better than Karen. I took my phone out and snapped a picture. After that I couldn't take it anymore and started devouring my second burrito. She tasted like I was a little girl and she was the burrito my dad told me to stay away from. A little spicy, messy, Tex-Mexican goodness. I didn't take my first drink after starting my breakfast until 1.5 burritos in because I didn't want to wash away anything my mouth was savoring. I don't even want to brush my teeth. I don't even want to show my face in this restaurant again out of embarrassment that they know the experience I just had after walking out of their establishment. Now I'm going to my meeting and afterwards I'm going home to my wife where I'm going to be honest about the feelings I just experienced and how God said it was okay. read more

This one has been on the radar for a while now. They have opened up one in Downtown Memphis but I wanted to try the original one first since it's so renowned. The ratings for this place made me super curious about how good the food was. We were on the way to the Buffalo River and I suggested that we stop by and grab breakfast. Walk in and it's pretty empty. It's a take out place only. It's bright and flashy inside. The ladies inside took great care of us, explained some of the details of the menu, and then set off to make our food. It took about 10 minutes I'd say to get it. I had the Gailene's Meat Lovin' Burrito and it was just ok. Very little flavor and there was a huge chunk of the end part of a boneless ham log that destroyed one side of the burrito when I bit into it. I could not get my teeth through the hard rind and pulled the whole 3-4 nice piece out of the middle making it fall apart. I had a hash brown too. It was ok, I did like the spice on it. C and the kids boyfriend got Karen's Maple Delight Junt. It was waaaayyyyyy better than mine! I thought it was very good actually. I would have never ordered it for myself, but now I would. For damn sure! Boyfriend never touched his. I threw it away later. Why you let me buy it, yo!? Lil' A had Richard's Turkey Pesto wrap. She tore it up. Her burps damn near ran me out of the car later. Let me just start by saying Rob and his wife are the nicest people I have met in quite a while. We stopped in based on prior reviews and I'm glad we did. Rob explained the top 5 on the menu to us and was happy to make a couple substitutions. His wife chatted with us while the burritos were being made (including making some audiobook recommendations for our road trip) and they both made us feel like friends of the family. The burritos were a knockout. In addition to my Gailene's Meat Lovin' Burrito, I snuck bites of the Karen's Maple Delight Burrito and the Bernadine's Shrimp And Avocado Burrito. The folks who work here are unfailingly polite, nice, and accommodating. The other morning I dropped by here for a breakfast burrito. It was substantial, delicious, and hot. I had asked for zero jalapeño peppers, but somehow the cook failed to follow directions. At least the jalapeños weren't terribly hot; so, I ate it anyway. I plan on returning here again soon, if only to try more of their menu offerings. read more

We were greeted at the door by the owner - Robert Mitchell. What a pleasant encounter!! He took the time to describe each of the top sellers, all the ingredients (to include his own homemade/family recipes), and to give us a brief history of his business plan. (Did you know that each of the menu items is named after a family member and most of them match the family members' personality?? Apparently Aunt Kay is quite spicy and Aunt Karen is the sweet one.) Robert's chef cooked each of our dishes to order tweaking a few things to accommodate for preferences/allergies. Then Robert hand delivered them to us and waited for us to try them to ensure they were satisfactory (and hopefully life changing). THE FOOD AND PRICE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Love supporting local businesses. Robert- Sir, would you consider franchising? Your business model and recipes would flourish in my hometown. Please note: there are no public restrooms available. A MUST STOP!! We stopped by Mitchell's on our way back to Virginia and let me tell you... THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITOS EVER!!! The entire experience was awesome. The owner greeted us and came out to go over the menu. He explained how each item was named after a member of his family and had a sweet family photo posted on the wall. We loved the personal touch! My husband and I ordered Kay's 3 Alarm and Karen's Maple Delight so we could share and have both! Who can pick just one?? Both were cooked beautifully and wrapped expertly and SO FULL OF FLAVOR. The Kay's packed the spicy punch it promised. I loved it! The Karen was savory and slightly sweet with a touch of cinnamon. Perfection! My daughter ordered the Bernadine's Shrimp and Avocado. When we asked her how it was, her response was "soooooo good!" We each got a hash brown side and, again, perfection. I am not one that typically orders hash browns but man, am I glad I did! They were fried with crispy edges and so well seasoned! Delicious! After reading reviews about the cookies, I had to order one. They were fresh from the oven. They had Reese's cups on top. I mean.... We stopped for gas and didn't want gas station breakfast so a quick search lead us to Mitchell's. I'm glad we took the time to visit because we got some awesome food and tried one of the best peanut butter cookies I've ever had! We got the Joyce veggie burrito and Kay's 3 Alarm burrito. Out of the two burritos we both really enjoyed the Joyce vegetarian burrito. The Kay's was a bit "soft" for my liking. It had scrambled eggs, jalapeños, green chile, banana peppers, fresh tomatoes, and spicy hot Italian sausage. The Joyce had scrambled eggs, onions and peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, jalapeños and we added sausage. I'm not sure if it the veggies weren't cooked as long but I enjoyed that way more as it gave it texture and crunch to offset the "softness" of the scrambled eggs and sausage. We met Rob who was slinging these delicious burritos behind the counter. He told us each item on the menu is named after one of his family members. We also tried their homemade cooked fresh cookies! The smaller chocolate chip was perfectly soft with semi sweet chocolate chips to pair with the sweet dough. Simply scrumptious. And I'm not exaggerating when I say we tried the best peanut butter cookies I've ever had. It's larger than the chocolate chip and is packed with peanut putter flavor in every bite! The edges were crispy and went perfectly with the soft center! Rob nicknamed them "the devil" because they are sinfully sweet. They are downright divine! Overall highly recommend. I love breakfast burritos, so much that I have a google map where to get them in Los Angeles, and whether they're worth trying. We have some incredible breakfast burritos here, so naturally when I saw there was a place halfway across the country that serves them primarily, I had to check it out. And am I glad I did. It was INCREDIBLE. I had the Karen's Maple Delight which, if you're into McGriddles, is like one of those but WAY better. A perfect blend of sweet and savory, and while it might sound crazy, the touch of cinnamon added something really unique and interesting that only added to the taste. I also tried the Bernadine's Shrimp & Avocado; also delicious, as were the hand pies (tried the strawberry and apple).
