My family's experience working with Farhad was hands down THE BEST experience we have ever had…read morehiring someone for home improvement work. Our project began when I came home to visit my mom and smelled gas: her old cooktop (and I mean 20+ years old) was leaking gas internally, and PG&E came around to shut the gas off. After discovering that all the standard-sized cooktops were either too big for her cabinets or too small for the existing opening, I finally got an idea to check IKEA and found that their european sizing would work perfectly. The problem was: how to install the cooktop? I used Yelp to send quotes out to many appliance servicing and repair companies and 4Wires was the first to respond. Based on my description of the issue alone, Farhad was confident he could help us with the install and asked if we might also send photos. I obliged and be provided a very reasonable quote for the work the same day. Farhad was very flexible about finding a date and time that worked for us. He arrived within the window he gave us and before entering attempted to put booties on his shoes before we insisted that wasn't necessary. We had the space prepped for him and had even purchased supplies he might need (like a flexible hose), but Farhad assured us that we could leave everything to him. As I mentioned, this project was for my mother, who is older and hard of hearing. Farhad explained everything he was going to do very clearly and was totally patient with my mom--something even I have difficulty managing sometimes! Before he made any cuts, he took careful measurements and drew exactly how the cooktop would sit. We discussed some challenges with the job, such as the placement of the pre-existing gas line, and Farhad gave recommendations and clear explanations, so we felt confident in his judgement. I could tell that he was passionate about his work and cared about the quality of the finish. At one point, my mom mentioned that it would probably be easier for him to cut just one side of the opening, but he insisted we should center the cooktop so it would sit properly under the hood and look more esthetically pleasing. When we expressed concerns about keeping the edges clean and asking if caulk would be necessary, he assured us that he had a tape that would secure the cooktop without causing damage during future removals or repairs like cutting caulk away would. I had to leave for work before the project really got underway, but when I spoke to my mom afterwards she gushed about the mastery of Farhad's skill. The cuts were precise and he didn't take out more of the countertop than was necessary. The placement of the gas line posed to be a logistical and safety concern, and so he moved it to be more accessible, saving us from having to call in a plumber to do the work. He worked neatly and efficiently: despite this being a rather complicated job, he was finished in a few hours. When I visited my mom's after work, I had to marvel at how beautifully the cooktop fit. Everything was in good working order as well, and my mom could start using the cooktop that night. She also mentioned to me that Farhad obliged her by looking at a few other projects in the house, including a light in the kitchen that wasn't working properly and another one in the closet. Farhad gave good advice about the light in the kitchen and even offered to come back and address the closet light the next time he was in town--truly above and beyond! Not only does Farhad do incredible work, he is also a decent and kind human being. If his interactions with my mom weren't enough, he candidly shared details about his family and the life they are building here in the US, and it felt good to support this very hardworking and honest man. Honestly, I think he doesn't charge enough for his expert work and service! In my mind, there is no one else I will ever call for any future appliance need. Then he applied a pest solution he called "hot foot" which apparently squirrels hate. It worked. The squirrels haven't been back. Once they, the driver, told him the reason I'd followed them was to tell them one of the tail lights on the trailer loaded with the seamless gutter supplies was out. Jason was friendly and seemed grateful that I'd made him aware of the problem. We talked for a few minutes regarding the seamless gutters. We talked briefly about my goal to have the ones on my house replaced. He agreed to come measure and get an estimate for me. Our schedules prohibited us from connecting but we stayed in touch via text messaging. After finally connecting in July, we nailed down some possible dates for measurement, estimate, etc. The delay in us connecting is not a poor reflection upon Jason or your company. In fact it worked out perfectly as I was "saving" for the job. On Friday, 08/03/18, Jason stopped by measured and estimated the job then left some of the materials needed to complete the job. We agreed upon a time for him to return the following day, and he and another guy showed up on time at the predetermined time. Being on time is huge for me, leaves a positive lasting impression. The estimate, which Jason gave me for per foot prices as well as disposal of old items was spot on. The rough pricing he gave me via text and that which he provided when he came to the property were consistent. The pricing was good. Jason and his partner removed the old gutters and down spouts, replaced them with the seamless gutters, down spouts and leave guards. Wow, it made a huge difference on the exterior appearance. I can't wait for it to rain so I can see the improvement. The old gutters may have been originals from the mid 1980's, were rusted and leaked. Jason and his partner completed the job within the estimated time frame. He kept me informed and answered my questions. Both Jason and his partner, sorry I cannot recall his name, were friendly, polite and represented the Capitol Mechanical name well. Customer service is another biggee for me. Jason and his partner cleaned up and left my property in great shape. This includes the leaves and debris from inside the old gutters, the old gutters and excess materials. This is another huge plus for your company. My entire experience from flag down about about the burned out taillight to installation, completion and cleanup including customer service, professionalism and everything else was awesome. The quality of the product is also excellent. And the price was better than two other bids I'd gotten - even though I already knew I was going to use Capitol Mechanical and Jason, I did my homework. He went over the top of the service call and cleaned my heating unit as well (maintenance was definitely due). It works perfectly now and the service call cost far less than my previous HVAC company.
