This was our first time visiting Alamar Marina for a quick bite before we headed to Sacramento…read moreairport. It's only about 3 miles from the airport and way better than any terminal food. The service was great and so friendly. As soon as we walked in, someone greeted us and told us to pick any seat we liked, which made for such a relaxed start. The vibe here is awesome. It's right on the Sacramento River, so you get these great views of the water and boats passing by the slips while you eat. We weren't super hungry, so we just shared the fish and chips. The drinks really stole the show, the Whiskey Sour and Blackberry Mule were both spot on and super refreshing. It was the perfect, easy pit stop. Definitely adding this to our pre-airport routine.

Overall, this was a solid experience, though the menu didn't quite suit my personal taste. The…read moreseafood dishes were decent and clearly well-prepared, but the offerings seem more geared toward classic seafood lovers with a more traditional or refined palate. Many items were often served in rolls or sandwiches, which just isn't my preference. I ordered the jumbo prawns, and they were exactly what you'd expect--well cooked and served with a cocktail-style sauce. Nothing wrong with them at all, but in hindsight, I probably should have gone with the gumbo instead. My son ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and found it to be mediocre, which reinforced the idea that this place really shines more with seafood than non-seafood options. My brother ordered the fried catfish sandwich. While he would have preferred it grilled due to his diet, he still thought it was made well. My sister's boyfriend ordered the burger, which had a jam on it and actually tasted pretty good for what it was. My mom and sister both ordered the lobster rolls and were impressed by the portion sizes--so much so that they had to take some home. They both enjoyed them. One standout for me was the funnel fries. I absolutely loved them. My mom had never tried funnel fries before and said they reminded her of churros, which I'd say is a win. As for the atmosphere, we went on a Monday. The restaurant was packed around noon and had a sports-bar vibe with TVs throughout. However, it does seem to close fairly early for dinner. As the afternoon went on, the crowd thinned out significantly, and we were among the few remaining guests. The service was straightforward--no over-the-top friendliness, but efficient and to the point. Finding the restaurant was a bit confusing since it was my first visit. You have to cross a small bridge or path and go down some stairs to reach it. That said, the location is beautiful. Sitting on a pier or deck with water views and sunlight streaming in made for a really nice, scenic experience. While the food wasn't entirely to my personal preferences, the portions, setting, and overall execution were good. I'd definitely recommend this spot for the views and for seafood lovers looking for a casual, scenic meal.

There was this girl waiter (I forgot her name) she gave us a table but less than one min moved us from a diff table because the server for that table was on break which is fine. Andres was our server and he is super kind, patient and funny. We had him pick out recommendations for the mimosa flight and for the meat with the tortillas. The food wasn't good at all, didn't live up to our expectations. The mimosa flight tasted so warm and watered down that we couldn't even drink it. The steak was super thin so we couldn't distinguish if it was cooked medium well. We all agreed that my breakfast burrito was the only one that tasted good out of the 2 dishes we ordered. The chicken didnt even taste like chicken either, tasted artificial. I thought my friend ordered a pita bread with tortilla and beans etc. The bathroom is disgusting, super dirty, not kept clean. Toilet paper everywhere, toilet dirty etc. The restaurant looks pristine but once you go to the restroom, super gross and makes you rethink if why a restaurant looks so bougie but can't keep their restroom clean. Most likely we won't come back. I think people come here for the river view.

I almost hate to say it, but they were worth the wait. So much flavor and the slaw and sauce were a perfect complement to the battered shrimp. We ordered 2 burgers and a chips and salsa and requested hot sauce for the table. When our burgers arrived our fries were already cold. We inquired about our chips and salsa after seeing other tables had gotten theirs. We were informed by our waitress that she had taken them to another table by accident and she asked if we still wanted some. We told her yes we did and asked about the hot sauce again. After a few minutes I walked over to the kitchen to get the hot sauce myself. She informed me that she was the only one working. After finishing our meal she asked if we wanted our check. We said yes but wanted to make sure the chips and salsa were not on there since we never received it. She laughed and said she was just about to bring it out but we finished our food so fast. I would like to add I'm in no way a fast eater. I swirl every fry in sauce and eat them individually. We had also waited to eat for the hot sauce. I was very disappointed in the service I received.

Rounding up to four stars what would really be more of a 3.5 star experience…read more The ambience is great, we sat on a cute patio overlooking the Sacramento river. Chips and salsa are off the chain. I was trying not to eat them, but I could not resist that smoky slightly spicy delicious salsa. My man and I ordered the surf and turf fajitas to share. They were just OK for me. First of all they came out and they weren't sizzling. The shrimp had nice flavor, but they were super dried out. I'm thinking that my food sat under the heat lamp for a while. The steak was really delicious, but was also pretty well done. Beans and rice were disappointing, not much flavor. The server was very friendly, but I think he had every table on the patio. He had to come back out a couple times to verify my drink order. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back to this business, but I'm not chomping at the bit to return super soon. I can see myself with margaritas, chips and salsa, and maybe a couple friends for a happy hour.

(Yes we had to sneak away to help Santa) Anyways we were sat in the back outside and the tortilla and salsa station near our table was being broke down and cleaned up. Fine right as it's late? Thing is we saw our server eat chips and dip them in the salsa he had put in a bin. Then he proceeded to wipe up the station with a wet rag. Ugh he kept serving the same chips and salsa. We were so disgusted as we saw him put his fingers in his mouth. Never saw him wash his hands!! I get it. It's late you want to start cleaning up after your shift but ew no. The salsa he brought us in sure had cleaner in it. We spoke to manager about him. The food runner brought us our food so different hands there. We hope to see this sever follow basic sanitary rules. Otherwise the experience was fine. Just sucks our server couldn't keep his hands clean.
