I really want to like this company because they are the only authorized Scotsman service provider…read morein our area that consistently answers service calls. Most of the technicians we have worked with are knowledgeable and professional. Occasionally, some technicians seem to struggle with diagnosing or resolving issues efficiently, but the senior technicians are usually able to step in and provide the necessary support and expertise. Unfortunately, because there are limited alternatives for authorized Scotsman service, it often feels like we have no choice but to keep working with this company. We rely on them to maintain our ice machine, which has made us more tolerant of service issues than we might otherwise be. My most recent experience, however, was disappointing. A staff member claimed we had confirmed an 8:00 AM service appointment, when no such conversation ever took place. We have call logs to support this. It is possible there was a mix up with another customer, so I am willing to give the benefit of doubt regarding the mistake. What was harder to overlook was the attitude displayed by the employee handling the call, which came across as unprofessional and dismissive. I do not believe the company itself is bad. In fact many of the technicians have been helpful over the years. However, professionalism and customer service should be consistent across all employees, especially those who are the first point of contact for customers. Ending our relationship with this company would be difficult because of our equipment's service requirements. At the same time, it would likely eliminate a recurring source of frustration and management headaches.
