I have signed up with Brower on an annual contract that provides two visits per year for maintenance. Mark came out today for a preventive maintenance visit. He was great. He arrived early, took care of both HVAC systems, and the heat pump hot water heater. He replaced a capacitor, and discovered a leak which he fixed. A return visit will be necessary soon, because he did not have enough refrigerant to recharge that system. read more

AC unit compressor not coming on. $92 Diagnostic fee is an little high but normal. Additional $346 to change a $25 capacitor that was already diagnosed and disconnected is high, and higher than Rocklin heating and air. Very quick response, which offsets the high price. Sonny was amazing!!! He didn't know this but I just went through cancer and due to surgery am new to awful hot flashes. My air Conditioners went out.... Right at the start of Sacramento summer and only a few weeks after my surgery.... Ahhhhh am I right?!?.... my house felt 10000 degree. Sonny was still working at 9pm. Got to and analyzed the situation quickly. Figured out what was wrong and fixed it so I could stop feeling like I was gonna die of a heat stroke. I can not recommend Brower Mechanical enough. Jose Arreola, our repair technician came out and fixed our air conditioning unit after we had five people come to our house. The first three were from a different company and they were trying to push a brand new system. When Jose came out, he was able to figure out a solution and I am happy to say it is up and running. He worked diligently and was very thorough with checking the whole system. He was very knowledgeable, patient and courteous. He explained the situation with my husband and I and offered a solution. Nick was an amazing technician. He came out to fix our radiant floor system which he did pretty immediately. He inspected the entire system and called out the proper preventative maintenance items and provided a quote. This is the magical part = incredible value - since he was here I had him provide second opinion on non functioning furnace. Not only did he fix it with parts from his truck in less than 20 minutes but he saved us thousands of dollars from buying a new system we didn't need. Travis showed up to check my condenser that was dripping. When he called to say he was on his way I thought he was the guy coming to quote a new system so I didn't think twice until he knocked on my door and then I realized that I no longer needed his services because another technician had come out at the request of my roofing contractor. All I can say is Travis was very nice and respectful and I will definitely keep Brower in mind for any future need or troubleshooting because they got someone out here quickly. read more

Jose Areolla was the mechanic that came to my home to review the issue. He responded to my call earlier than expected. He was knowledgeable and quickly inspected the equipment , explained what had happened to me , and submitted the work survey for approval as it was covered on the warranty . I hired Brower to install an energy-efficient small-tank heater in my house in place of a very hold tank heater in the middle of the house. After mocking the previous company that refused to do the job, they mistakenly put the new heater in a cupboard in the middle of the house. The directions clearly say they need to be situated outside. Brower took that heater out and without flushing it beforehand returned the 40-year-old water heater to its place, which then flushed massive amounts of debris into my plumbing system ruining 9 faucets in the house, the refrigerator water filter and the under-sink kitchen water filter. I asked them to fix their mistake; they said they would do it at the end of the job. They then refused to run hot water lines under the house as we originally agreed and without my authorization ran them THROUGH THE ATTIC. When they finished the installation, they left without fixing the damage they had done. They sent a tech back out, but when he discovered all the faucets and filters that needed to be completely replaced, he left and never returned. I spoke to Brower twice to get them to come back out and fix all the damage they caused - and rerun the hot water line appropriately where the old line had been. They said they would. They didn't. They then called to collect final payment from me every 3 months for 18 months, and each time I reminded them to look at their notes and that they needed to fix all the damage they'd done and replace faucets/lines/etc. Each time they said they would get back to me and didn't. I stopped hearing from them, and now they have affected my credit rating by sending the case to collections. Avoid Brower. They were arrogant, uncooperative, did not follow initial plans, and refused to fix their mistakes. And then chose to screw a client over instead of resolving the problems they caused. read more

Brower has been servicing my new construction home for years after my AC went out on a 114 degree day. They were able to come out quickly assess and repair the issue for a reasonable price. They didn't push unnecessary upgrades or components. They even caught a gas leak and issues caused by the original contractors. I asked about cleaning the AC condenser coil as well and was told that i would only receive a quote when a free estimate was provided on site. they had amazing availability and were able to come out in 30 minutes on the same day. When HVAC service person arrived, he quickly stated that thermostat install would be $110 each and ac condenser coil cleaning would be $150. He said if I didn't want service, then there would be a fee for onsite estimate. I quickly let him know this wouldn't fly and I only invited his company to my house based on the dispatchers quote. He quickly agreed to honor the quote given by the dispatcher. In order to avoid calling another company in for the AC condenser cleaning. i agreed to that service as well. The thermostats were installed easily in the same prior locations of the old thermostats. One was screwed into a weak area in the drywall and thus only held in place by one screw. I didn't notice on install, but was obvious and should have been noted by technician. Th AC Condenser cleaning took a total of 10 min. He vacuumed the inside ,sprayed it with a hose and sprayed something that looked like 409 cleaner in it. That service was definitely not worth $150 dollars Overall very average experience. Work was done promptly and timely. Hated having to repeatedly negotiate prices that were already promised. Given an extra star ( thus 3 star review) due to prompt same day availability and friendly service rep who acknowledged his need to sell additional services including an service maintenance package.

But unless you need a simple, residential fix of your HVAC system, they won't bother to service you. I had a tech from Rey's come out a couple weeks ago and after looking at the condenser for Gree mini split that was experiencing an H5 error, the tech just didn't want to diagnose it and look at fixing the unit as he felt it "was too complicated" for as he stated, they only do residential HVAC systems. My unit is part of an apartment complex which is classed as commercial, but HVAC systems are HVAC systems and a company like this one and with their reputation, should be able to fix this. I will also grant that the system is 10 years old. But I had another tech come and was able to diagnose the issue within 30 minutes and found that I just needed to replace a couple temperature sensors that cost a total of $100 and got it up and operational within an hour. Also, the reason I contacted them is that they are listed as a Gree certified partner vendor. He also complained that they used to go out of their way to service customers but got burned or ended up spending too much time and resources, so they now decline service that they consider not "worth their time and effort". When I hear this, I believe this is a company that grew too big and now only focuses on things they can fix easily and will avoid things they consider too difficult. But then my fix was actually pretty easy. Just be aware of their current business state and make sure your fix is easy, but then why bother I guess? Good luck with this contractor...

The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time!
