One of the best soft serves ever! I had Mister Softee during a game at the Chase Center and this was phenomenal. For $11, it's definitely steep for ice cream, let alone soft serve, but well worth it! The portion is quite generous so it can definitely be shared. An unreal sweet treat.
My toddler always gets excited whenever we cross paths with Mister Softee NorCal. This truck offers classic soft serve via cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Toppings include sprinkles, nuts, crushed oreos. There is also chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, pineapple, cherry and strawberry sauce. With pricing ranging between $4.25 and 8 bucks, this sweet treat doesn't break the bank. Service is friendly. Mister Softee comes recommended for people of all ages. If you are lucky enough to have this truck roll through your neighborhood or see it drive around your local park, do not hesitate to give them a try!!
Booking was very easy. They respond pretty fast. I started the booking back in January for my son's graduation party in June. I was unsure how busy they would get, so it was better to be safe than sorry. I spoke with Andrew regarding details of the booking & what came with the services. He explained the whole menu was available & they can serve up to 70 people in 1 hour. That sounded perfect. I decided to move forward with the reservation & you can either pay a deposit or the full amount. The day of the event, the truck arrived early & I was able to talk to the driver regarding details. I did notice more than half the menu was crossed off but didn't ask about it. Then when it was time to serve my guests, they all told me a lot of the items on the menu weren't available. The only thing offered to my guest were soft serve in a cone or cup with toppings. Sundaes, banana splits, & floats weren't an option. My son asked the driver why & she said all she had were toppings. I called the next day after our event & spoke with Andrew again. He apologized for the mixup & it was a miscommunication with the driver & dispatch. He also explained, sometimes they do limit the menu to ensure guest are served in a timely manner. That is fine with me, but it was not communicated. He said he would look into it further and get back to me. I ended up writing an email as a follow up, and Andrew finally got back to me. They were able to accommodate a partial refund due to the issue on their end. Overall they have great service & my guests were happy but it was the expectation vs what was actually delivered. I will book with them again in the future in hopes we have a better experience.
First time trying this and it was delicious. I asked for a milkshake with Oreos and they asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate. I have been hearing great things about Mister Softee and was excited I was finally able to try it!
Caught the Mister Softee truck outside Palo Alto Medical and decided to treat myself after a lab appointment. Great decision. The Chocolate Nut Sundae was everything you want from classic soft serve -- smooth texture, generous chocolate syrup, and a satisfying crunch from the nuts. Simple, nostalgic, and perfectly executed. Quick service, friendly vibe, and honestly a bright spot in the middle of a medical day. Would absolutely grab it again.
Excuse the half eaten picture of the cherry sundae - but it looked so good I had to dig in immediately. I was visiting Don Biddle park when I heard the ice cream truck playing. I thought I was a regular truck at first, but was pleasantly surprised to see soft serve! My kids loved seeing the cones being dipped. The cashier/service was super nice and patient with my order (I had 4 children with me). Cups/cones are about $5/each. And they were delicious. I'm following them on IG so I can be sure to catch them again!
Mister Softee is such a neighborhood staple nowadays. The moment you hear that familiar jingle, you know you're in for a classic soft-serve treat done right. Whether it's a sundae or a perfectly blended milkshake, the quality is consistently spot-on. The app is a surprisingly great tool for tracking down the truck, and it almost feels like they know when you're following them because they're quick to stop and serve. The service is friendly, the favorites are dependable, and that unmistakable music makes every visit a simple, joyful experience. Mister Softee also offers private event bookings. I booked them for a birthday party, and all the kids were happy. Booking was easy and conveniently handled by submitting an online form, with clear confirmation and follow-up via email. A great experience for kids and adults alike!
Oh what a yummy ice cream this truck had and it was perfectly located outside the Pacifica Taco Bell Catina right by the shore. It was a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the ice cream after the gloomy and rainy Bay Area weather. Service was fast and prompt. It was like a cherry on top of our perfect Saturday adventure
Initial scheduling, confirmation reminders and flexibility was great. My party time shifted the morning of, when the Guest of Honor was delayed. I called Mister Softee and left a message. Someone returned my call within 5 min, I explained the issue and asked to push the arrival-start time 1 hour later. They checked their calendar and easily changed my time slot without issue or fees. I was very happy they could accommodate my change request, that ultimately made my party timeline flow better. Server arrived on time and everyone enjoyed their icecream treat.
My brother and I were on a mission to get mister softee. The first spot closed up before we arrived, and the second stopped serving ice cream even though it was only 8:30. We decided to try one last time and the third time was a charm. Using the app, we tracked a truck to a gas station. Kelsey was pumping gas and it was obvious she was done for the night. However, she went out of her way to help us and happily served us ice cream when I asked. She truly made our night--amazing customer service, and the ice cream was just as good!
The truck stopped in front of my place so I rushed out the door to get some soft serve! I got the Crunchie ($5), which is vanilla soft serve dipped in cookie/graham cracker crumbs. It was sweet, delicious, and a large portion. It's hard to track where the trucks are on the Mister Softee app - I have to rely on hearing the ice cream truck music. Maybe this particular truck isn't registered? Not sure how it works, but if you hear it nearby, do not miss your chance for a fun treat!

It was fun chasing down the truck down. I ordered the chocolate dipped. Very smooth and not too sweet. Generous portion for 5$. I will definitely chase it again. read more

Hi Susanna, So glad you enjoyed the chocolate dipped—smooth, not too…
I was sitting at my desk just now when my boss came in from outside and said as a casual aside that the Mister Softee truck was on the corner. I stopped what I was doing, spun around in my chair, and said, "Are you serious?? I've been wanting to try them for a while but the truck is never near me!" He said it was there, that it was parked next to the taco truck that's always on the corner of our block, that he was pretty sure the dude driving it was getting some tacos, but maybe he's still there? I grabbed my coat, scarf, and purse, and ran out without another word. Across the street and down to the end of the block I half-jogged, half-speed-walked, and lo, there dude was, burrito in hand, walking back to his truck which was parked next to the taco truck. Guy was super nice, said hi, and asked if I wanted ice cream. I said yes please, gave the menu a quick perusal, and went with the strawberry sundae ($6.00). He instantly (literally, there was no one else there) served it up. Whole transaction, including getting the sundae, took maybe a minute at most. It was simple and to the point: creamy ice cream, a *ton* of strawberry sauce (too much, actually), and chunks of strawberries. The sauce wasn't too cloyingly sweet, just the right amount. He did put too much sauce in the cup though -- it was threatening to overflow over the sides when he handed it to me, and then did after just a few seconds of holding it, and it dripped all over the front of my coat. Overzealousness with the sauce aside, this was a nice, simple sundae for a decent price and a good way to close out the work day. Apparently they're over here every Tuesday (corner of W Ave 140th and Merced in San Leandro), which is why I've never seen them because I usually work from home on Tuesdays. I may have to work from the office on Tuesdays more often so I can try more of the things on the menu that caught my eye. read more

I am a Mister Softee connoisseur. I am a Mister Softee stan. I am a Mister Softee fan. I hear the music outside. I run for that soft serve ice cream. My current favorite is a vanilla sundae with chocolate syrup and strawberries. My neighborhood Mister Softee guy has been Aaron and I have seen him a couple of times. And each time, he has been so kind and friendly. Makes my Mister Softee experience that much better! Mister Softee and Aaron are always topics of conversation in my household's sweet treat days. Whenever I see a Mister Softee truck, I will stop. I'm not kidding. I love soft serve ice cream! read more

Hi K.G., Thank you for the love! Hearing that the Mister Softee music…
Nice treat on a hot day after walking thru the De Anza Flea Market. Like all chocolate dip vanilla ice creams, it melts quickly. Tastes great on a warm day and it's not overly sweet. The Oreo dust was a nice touch. The crunch is rolled in a sugar and chocolate cookie mix. Generous topping of strawberry topping for the strawberry sundae. Service was quick and efficient. read more

I have been on the hunt for a good soft serve locally and Mister Softee happened to show up near my house! Mister Softee even has an app so that you can track down their location and find their truck effortlessly. Their truck moves quick and only stops at various locations for roughly 5-10 minutes (a couple blocks between each stop). We got their Vanilla/Chocolate swirl and Rainbow Sprinkle cone. Vanilla/Chocolate swirl: The ice cream itself is SUPER smooth, lightly dense (almost gelato-like) and perfectly sweet. It didn't melt fast, however, the cone I received was broken at the very bottom. Unfortunately I had to finish it quickly as it was constantly melting and dripping down my hand.. Rainbow Sprinkle cone: With a vanilla soft serve base and sprinkles, what more could you ask for! Personally, we do enjoy the rainbow sprinkle beads rather than the longer pieces (as shown in the picture) but it was delicious. Prices are also reasonable ($4 for the swirl and $4.50 for the sprinkle). The chocolate and vanilla flavors taste high quality which is awesome! Overall, a MUST try if you ever see the truck around or you could also track them down! read more

Went here for the first time with friends who love Mister Softee and get it often. After having dinner with them, they took us to a truck near their place. I got the vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles on a waffle cone, and it was pretty good! I really like how creamy their soft serve is. Can't wait to go back and try their other items in the near future! read more

Was happy to see the ice cream truck in the parking lot at Cuesta Park in Mountain View today. We were heading back home & it was definitely a sweet treat to end the beautiful sunny day. Glad they accept Apple Pay too! My go-to for ice cream is cookies & cream so I got their Oreo dust which was a vanilla soft serve dusted in Oreo powder. So simple yet delicious. Delicious ice cream! My brother in law introduced me to them. He mentioned they have an app where you find the location of their ice cream truck. I tried their Oreo dust cone since I am a big Oreo fan. It was incredible! My husband is a fan of chocolate dip which he got and thoroughly enjoyed it. The portion for the price is great too. The service was friendly. There are other items on the menu I would like to try next time like the cherry dipped or one of the sundaes. read more

This soft serve actually does live up to the hype. Download the app to see where they are in real time. Caught them in Alameda as they were on the main island so we jumped in the car and drove over to find the truck. Their strawberry milkshake is super rich with bits of real strawberries. My fave is their chocolate sundae with nuts. Perfect ratio of fudge and nuts to ice cream. Don't waste your money on a McDonald's hot fudge sundae, go find the Mr Softee truck! read more

Not sure if there is an algorithm for what routes you take but I'm so glad you pass by my house once a week. I used to use the app to find you but somehow you magically appear! It's soft serve. It's yummy! Get it dipped or a sundae. This isn't hipster artisan gelato with rose petals and elderberry. This is the old school take me back to my childhood excitement. Just a touch too soft but held together by neon cherry red shell! What a treat! I still get hyped when I hear the song. Service always with a smile. No judgment even if I'm buying two cones just for myself and eating them both in my car because it's a stick shift so I can't drive. Love you guys! Contemplating a Mr Softee tattoo read more

The best soft serve, just as good as I remember from my childhood in NY! I'm so glad they have Mister Softee trucks roaming around the Bay Area. My absolute favorite is the rainbow sprinkles cone - it's what I used to order as a kid, back when Mister Softee was the highlight of my day. So I definitely had a Ratatouille moment ordering it decades later! Thanks for the nostalgia! Check their website for their schedule, and download the Mister Softee NorCal app to track where the trucks are in real time. It's worth seeking out! read more

With the summer coming, it's so cool to have an ice cream truck in the Bay Area. If you want to know where the truck is near you, you will need to download the Mister Softee NorCal app. We recently heard the ice cream truck jingle while walking in the neighborhood and ran up to it and tried a few items. All yummy. Service friendly. By the way, summers in SF is very cold with just a few very hot days, but I do enjoy ice cream in cooler weather. read more

Mister Softee was in Danville for a private event. My son and I attended the event. I picked the Cherry Frosty and my son picked the Oreo Frosty cone. The frosty was firm, good vanilla flavor with a nice cherry crunch hard shell and a fresh crunchy cone. Unfortunately the Cherry dip didn't completely cover the frosty so there were little holes where the frosty melted and dripped which made it a little messy so have extra napkins available. You couldn't lick the melting ice cream since it was dipped. My son experienced the same. We both enjoyed our cones and if we see the truck again we both would buy one of the cones or sundaes. Very good soft serve ice cream. If you see a Mister Softee truck, give them a try. They make one of the better soft serve. read more

Love this spot. Have had it several times and lucked out seeing it nearby after dinner the other day. You can't go wrong with any of the options on come, my favorite is the Oreo sundae. Everything they sell feels so much lighter than traditional ice cream. The sundae isn't doused with fudge and whipped cream like other spots. They make your stuff on the spot and then you pay quickly after. We've brought a few people here now and everyone always loves it. It is slightly annoying you have to track their trucks online to see where they are, and I've heard some folks show up and the truck not be there so that is one potential downside. read more

Due to the very long line, I had high expectations for this Mister Softee. I was a bit disappointed. I got a chocolate dip swirl in a cup, $5. Neither the soft serve nor the dip is particularly rich, and the portion is quite small. The soft serve at the Twirl & Dip truck in Golden Gate Park is a bit more expensive, but 10x better. read more

The Fremont Truck stopped by SF Inner Sunset :)! The man running the truck was very nice! We wanted to get cones but opted into a shake because the woman in front of us said it was good! So glad we made the choice to get a chocolate shake! It was so thick/creamy/delicious! It's such a vibe to have an ice cream truck around the city. Stumbling upon Mister Softee NorCal during a Friday stroll was a delightful surprise! Having heard about their soft serve before, I was eager to see what the hype was about. Pricing: The pricing was reasonable, with our Oreo milkshake and Dixie cup totaling $11. Overall, the menu is ranging from $4 to $7.50. Menu: The menu offers a variety of options, from cones to sundaes, catering to all cravings. Our Dixie cup, adorned with sprinkles, was not only delicious but also generously portioned, satisfying our sweet tooth perfectly. Mister Softee NorCal is a rare gem of an ice cream truck, and I highly recommend stopping by if you spot it in your neighborhood for a nostalgic treat that hits the spot.
