Cheese and bacon fries
Richard P.

We visited on a week night in September and they were not very busy at the time. I ordered the caesar chicken sandwich which I have enjoyed several times. My wife and I shared the cheese and bacon fries which were suitably smothered, and were plenty for us both. The prices are somewhat high, but you do have a nice view of the river. We come by here at least once every summer.

Fish sandwich with cheese

Stopped by for dinner with my husband. I ordered the fish sandwich and shared a fries with cheese and bacon with my husband. The fish sandwich was delicious but $1.60 for cheese was too much. The fries were delicious and had a lot of cheese and bacon . Overall the food was very good but expect to pay a lot...prices are high!!! We try to go at least once every summer...the location is great being right by the water!!!.

Stopped by Mississippi Mudds for a foot long and fries with my daughter

Nice day for a early dinner. Me and my daughter both got marinaded chicken sandwich with lettuce tomato on a Costanzo roll nice juicy chicken. And my daughter got a cheeseburger for later she enjoyed it also had lettuce and tomato she likes this sauce that tastes like the sauce on a big Mac! We had onion rings the best around nice and crispy never greasy. I had garlic parmesan fries wasn't anything special not much cheese and until I got home and noticed maybe an garlic butter on the bottom I added some garlic salt when I got home was better. And got a Loganberry drink I thought it might be too sweet but just right very good workers from the register to the cooks and anyone that had to do with the whole process nice time and day to stop at Mississippi Muds

Mighty Mudd, 1/2 lb. cheeseburger. August '2024.

A Mighty Mudd Burger and Memphis Fries, please :). The food and location, which is right next to Niawanda Park in Tonawanda, is an ideal combination. It's summer and if you want something simple, satisfying and fun, this is the destination. Walking along the Niagara River is an enjoyable and relaxing activity. This is the main reason to be there, so you shouldn't skip it. Everyone who works at Mississippi Mudds is always very polite and helpful. This is a team of young, energetic people who make sure that our food is consistently delicious. Decent portions of fries are hot and crispy. The burgers are also grilled to perfection every time we order. They also serve curly lettuce, not iceberg, which is huge. Oh! I can't forget to mention the condiment stand. Mudd's Burger Sauce is my favorite. There's also pickles, a hot sauce, diced onion, plus the usual. The 2024 season ends on October 5. There are still a few days left when Mississippi Mudds will be open. Thanks, and very likely, see you next year :).

Hot dog and French fries

Stopped in to fuel up while on a bike ride. For a hot dog , fries and a drink $15 is almost ridiculous. (Trickle down economics in play here). Fries weren't crispy, tender but no crunch... hot dog had a little char, (it's a hot dog, you can't mess it up)... Fountain drink though... that definitely hit the spot ..icy cold. Not much to report in terms of service and ambience. Order food /get food/ seat yourself if you can snag an open table.

Two scoops of ice cream for roughly $6

I have heard about this place, but have never been here until now. We happenrd to be in the area after having dinner in Tonawanda, when my wife suggested we visit. I had two scoops of ice cream, and so did she. As it was a Friday evening, we decided to grab our ice creams, and sit on the patio upstairs which overlooks the river. Definitely a beautiful experience. The staff did a good job ordering and serving our ice cream, which happens to be Perry's like most in the area.

Sugar free fudge ripple ice cream

Sugar free fudge ripple ice cream - yum! My hubby loves the vegan and gluten free vanilla custard and gluten free cones - so nice to have options for everyone! We love treating ourselves to an ice cream and then a walk by the river - it makes for a lovely afternoon in the summer.

Milkshake

Such a filling lunch! I had a hot dog, milkshake, and split an order of fries and was so stuffed I couldn't even finish the fries. Service was quick and ordering was easy. Food was fantastic, loved the outdoor seating options in both the sun or shade, and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Haven't been to Mississippi Mudds in forever, but can't wait to start revisiting this casual spring/summer spot. We usually go to Old Man River, but lucky for us it wasn't open for the season yet. The interior was super clean and the condiments were organized really well. I ordered the chicken avocado bacon sandwich- the chicken was tender and flavorful. The marinade they used on the chicken is delicious. My husband ordered the turkey burger and we shared the sweet potato fries which had the perfect amount of crisp. Can't wait to go back.

Mississippi Mudds is always a great spot to go during the summer! Their food always hits the spot and the service is quick and easy. I like that they have a toppings station for you to add as much as you'd like to your hotdogs. There's indoor and outdoor seating with a great breeze and view of the water.

Mighty Mudd Burger and onion rings.
Lydia W.

Delicious and juicy burger. Onion rings were superb, light and not too greasy. Tried their chipotle mayo with my rings and it was the right choice! Service was speedy and the ambiance ideal for that sunny day by the water. Excellent summer spot!

Mississippi Mudds is close to my apartment and is a great place to get a quick bite! They're doing a great job at social distancing during this pandemic by only allowing 10 people in at a time. There are squares on the sidewalk where you can line up. It gets fairly busy but the line moves quick. Niawanda Park is right across the street so it's convenient to grab your food and head there! Some of my favorites include the chicken caesar sandwich, Mighty Mudd burger, and foot long hot dog. Their onion rings and fries are always crispy and hot.

Staff was very friendly and their ice cream was the bomb. The scenery is the best by far looking over the river.

The food is solid, the ice cream is good - the 2 stars is for being overpriced. 2 adults and 3 small kids cost well over $40.

Fresh waffle comes and delicious custard and ice cream. The line was long, but it was a holiday and worth the wait.

Seasonally. Opens around mid-March and stays open until mid-October

Did Mississippi Mudds used to be Helf's in the late '60's to early 70's?

I stopped here to alleviate my gnawing hunger pains. It seemed like a great idea, sit down along…read morethe water front and enjoy my solitude. The night held promise. I was even pleasantly surprised when a flock of ducks came by to say hello. Now, the only thing I needed was a tasty delightful meal of sorts. I came up to the outdoor counter and stared at the menu: "burgers, hot dogs and fries;" okay -- the typical fare. The prices were surely super reasonable ($5-6 for a burger). That was a little too cheap in fact, so I inquired; "do you cook your burgers from frozen?" Indeed, they did. Ouch -- that was an incredible disappointment! My expectations were already low, but I figured I was so hungry that I wouldn't even notice. You know how when you get to that point where you're so hungry, even the worst cut of meat tastes delicious when plastered with the proper spices? That's how hungry I was. So I placed my order for a "Turkey Burger" (wanted to at least convince myself I was trying to be healthy) and sat down to enjoy my time along the river. At least the setting was great, right? Well, I don't blame the restaurant for this, but there were about 15 wasps that wanted to enjoy the river with me also. They didn't sting me, but they were super pesky. The peak of my enjoyment came when a flock of ducks came within an inch of my feet, looking at me curiously to see if I had some food. It was majestic. So, the turkey burger comes out. I am excited with anticipation, but as I bite into it all I taste is a huge dose of sodium. Is this meat or salt? Even my hunger wouldn't allow me to properly deceive myself and enjoy my food. I finished the burger, but with the sort of shame that accompanies eating such a meal. I then watched the lady behind the counter start feeding the ducks. Indeed, this food may be suitable for ducks but truth be told even they didn't look too happy eating it. It's definitely not the best people food. I will not be back unless they start properly sourcing their ingredients. Heck, raise your prices a little but get some fresh meat to serve your customers!
