Pulled chicken potato salad and amazing cornbread
Saira K.

Excellent service here. I felt very welcome. It smelled nicer inside. I had never been to a Mission BBQ before. The woman taking my order took the time to explain the menu. There was no wait. The food was hot. You could watch them preparing the food. The cornbread was really good. There's a selection of 6 sauces, some where spicy. The service was excellent.Chris walked around and kept asking everyone how they were enjoying their meal.

Black plate special; baked potato with brisket. Comes with bacon bites, cheddar cheese and sour cream. Side of cornbread.

Cashier wasn't as friendly as one would expect with a customer service job. There was plenty of tables available to sit and eat . Clean tables; clean bathroom. Food was served in a reasonable time. Hot, delicious, full of flavor. The $14 black plate special is a little pricey for a baked potatoes with brisket but I ate half and had the rest for dinner. Not a bad lunch. I'd try this place again.

I lived in the south for a few years and got to try tons of great BBQ. This BBQ, even though it's fast food, is delicious and stacks up to others I've tasted. The service is on point and, as a veteran, I really enjoy seeing pictures on the walls of my brothers and sisters in arms. PRO TIPS: - Ask for the white sauce - Get the pulled pork NC style (this is when coleslaw is added on the sandwich. Not exclusive to NC, but that's how Mission calls it)

Most disappointing brisket I've ever had. $15 for a half pound of brisket but they weight it with the container so you lose about half an ounce. The only side is a 2 inch square of dry cornbread. It smells like spam and tastes like old beef. Clearly the mission is to rip people off. Anyone who says this is good has never had good BBQ.

What is there not to love about Mission!! ....except maybe the price point, but hey, they are on track with the market. Exceptional food cooked to perfection - comfortable atmosphere that is clean - and a staff that is AMAZING!!

Just opened recently, I tried 3 the briskett, pulled pork, sausage (not hot), baked beans, and French fries. Friendly staff.

Just opened recently. At lunch we tried the pulled pork, briskett, sausage (not hot), french fries, and baked beans on a platter. The food came out fresh, hot and juicy. Six sauces to choose from plus vinegar on you table. Lemonade, unsweetened or sweet tea by soda fountain. Friendly staff, clean open seating area restaurant. Busy, at mealtimes so get there before the rush. Busperson extremely feindly and helpful. Go check it out.

The food was OK but not what I am used to. The ribs were too soft no body to them. Had fries & coleslaw nothing special.

My husband and I looked for the best BBQ places in the area and landed on The BBQ Barn. A small and cute little barn sits in the corner of the plaza (on the right of Target). We ordered chicken and rib dinners with an extra pulled pork sandwich (we ordered way too much but needed to try it all!!). Dinner plates come with Cole slaw, a dinner roll, potatoes, and a whoopie pie. There is seating outside. We both agreed that the chicken may have been the best we have ever had. It was seasoned so well and perfectly cooked. The ribs came with bbq sauce on the side. There was a line, but service was quick and efficient. The grills are right in front and you can see the cooking happening! Inside the barn, I could see them rolling out fresh pretzels. They also had homemade root beer, which was very good! After we finished eating, I couldn't help but grab a vanilla ice cream cone to share with my dogs. They agree too, best soft serve ice cream we have ever had. Since getting home, we have already talked about how we need to plan a trip back to Lancaster to get more BBQ and explore the area a bit longer.

Drive to the Target just west of the American Music Theatre and head to the far east side of the Target, driving back around the side of the building and the restaurant will be on your right. Watch for small signs directing you to the BBQ Barn. Review: Very good pulled pork sandwiches with lots of meat for a very reasonable price. Full meal is a great deal that includes three small grilled red potatoes, a small coleslaw, roll, whoopie pie, and drink for $12.50-$14.00 depending on your meat and beverage choice. They sell "homemade" root beer that I tried and it was good and tasted like the original drove in A&W root beer except it lacked carbonation. We had a sandwich plus one full meal for about $20 and left a small tip. Note that this is a casual place with outdoor seating only, similar to a food truck. Thankfully the picnic table seating is mostly in the shade. I do recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner and noticed local Amish eating there while we had lunch. today.

First time At the Smokehouse BBQ & Brew…read more We had the corn bread and burnt tips for appetizers hubby had the pulled pork and chicken and I had the SCHNITZEL AND SPAETZLE for dinner. The Burnt ends appetizer was the best I have ever had. The meat was super tender and the white horseradish was so good on it we bought 12oz to take home. Honestly that could have been my dinner it was that good. The pulled pork was good it passed my husband's test since he's from NC and still looking for one like home. The spaetzle was amazing, and as good as my mother in law made. Well better. And she's German. Such a great find. It will be on our list every-time we come back to Lancaster.

Smokehouse BBQ & Brews…read more GOOD: Service, woodsy-warm atmosphere. Prices were fair and soup was delicious BAD: The pulled pork was dry on the top layer, underneath it got better and better. The fried chicken was good and well cooked, but the batter needed seasoning. I would certainly go back to Smokehouse. I loved the warm atmosphere and friendly service. The platter was overall good. My recommendations would be to rotate/mix the pulled pork so it doesn't catch so much heat on the top layer, and pre season the chicken fry batter. Slightly salted/peppered taste would give the fried chicken a nice boost without the customer having to cover it with the shakers.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.

The food is a delicious mix of Peruvian and Venezuelan flavors, and you can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite. Their arepas are crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with flavorful fillings. Everything felt comforting yet unique at the same time. One thing I really appreciated is that the entire menu is 100% gluten free, but honestly, you wouldn' even notice because the food is just that good. Also, don't be deceived if the food doesn't look super "picture perfect" online or in photos (or at least my photos lol). It may not be the most photogenic food, but it's sooo worth it! I actually ordered almost everything on the menu because I had no idea when I'd be back in Lancaster again . My favorite was the fried rice with chicken and plantains, so flavorful and satisfying! My husband's favorite was the Lomo Saltado Bowl and Pernil Arepa. We also loved the yuca fries, which were perfectly crispy without being overly greasy. The only thing that disappointed me a little was the Esquites. It just didn't stand out and probably wouldn't order it again. Parking is limited and there's outdoor seating only.
