The World Famous Roast Beef Sandwich with cooper sharp

I finally tried this place and the roast beef sandwich. It definitely lived up to the hype. I got the sandwich with cooper sharp cheese. Staff was nice too. The place is a bit Smokey and loud, but it was a great dinner!

Roast beef sandwich was massive and the beer battered fries were good. Wings were a little greasy as I prefer smoked wings over fried like their's. The wings also lacked the amount of sauce I prefer. Service was outstanding; we had three servers/waitresses check in on us during our visit. Seems like a local hangout as the bar was packed with patrons awaiting today's football games. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for good bar food that is reasonably priced and serves insanely large portions.

It's hard to find outside seating with outdoor heaters these days. Lucky Dog definitely adapted well. The closed tent keeps the wind from battering your face, the heaters, and even a TV. I know keeping this up through winter might pose a challenge, but I hope they keep this setup for as long as they can. I had the Turkey Basil. Good. The only thing I think it lacked was a texture component. Maybe add a strip or two of bacon or even some lettuce. I would have preferred more basil in the mayo too. My husband had the 'World Famous Roast Beef'. The only real criticism he had was that he prefers a thicker slices of roast beef. Lucky Dog has been a Lancaster staple for a very long time. I hadn't been in here years, mainly because I tend to stick to Lancaster City. If it were closer, I'd absolutely be a regular.

    Looks truly deceive you.

This is for the location on Willow Street. Second week in a row we walk in and it took us 13 minutes before anybody would come close to the door and then when they did, they said they would be back in a minute and they go stand and have some conversation at the bar and then the other girl goes into the kitchen and just stands there Instead of taking the 30 seconds that it would've been to see us. I would not recommend this place at all. For a place that opened up just recently you would think that they would be on their a game but for two weeks in a row for this to happen. Willow Street needs another solid competitor. Micks is good, but they're so crowded lately because they get all the business for the area.

Long time local Lancaster hangout/"dive bar" w great food & friendly service. A tradition since it was the Manor Ridge: their famous Roast Beef sandwich - best anywhere for the money. Great soups and fish n chips too. Large bar, upper level restaurant thru the bar area. Outdoor seating when weather permits.

This has some of the best casual food I've had. I highly recommend this restaurant. I commonly get the open faced roast beef sandwich.

We got the World Famous Roast beef sandwiches. They were so filled with beef. Husband enjoyed his Guinness; I had my ice tea.

The doubles? Exceptional. Soft, perfectly filled, and full of flavor. And the hot pepper sauce? Whew. It didn't just add heat, it elevated an already outstanding dish to another level. I ordered so many doubles I barely had room for anything else but I had to try the dhal and it was exactly what I needed. Comforting, rich, and done right. Everything tasted like true, authentic Trini food, the kind that makes you feel warm, satisfied, and already thinking about your next visit. I was literally craving it every single day for the rest of my Lancaster trip. The space itself is on the smaller side, but really cute and inviting. The service was great: friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience complete. Whether you're new to Trini food or already know what's up, Calaloo will not disappoint. Trust me, you'll be planning your next visit before you even leave.

I always order the coconut jerk chicken and am delighted be the Trinidadian/Asian fusion mix their menu provides. Specials rotate, which is so much fun. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and even my gluten-free mother can eat here. The food is consistently good and the spice levels are high, so take them seriously! Especially the pepper beef. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through!

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
