The World Famous Roast Beef Sandwich with cooper sharp
    Kenneth N.

I finally tried this place and the roast beef sandwich. It definitely lived up to the hype. I got the sandwich with cooper sharp cheese. Staff was nice too. The place is a bit Smokey and loud, but it was a great dinner!

Roast beef sandwich was massive and the beer battered fries were good. Wings were a little greasy as I prefer smoked wings over fried like their's. The wings also lacked the amount of sauce I prefer. Service was outstanding; we had three servers/waitresses check in on us during our visit. Seems like a local hangout as the bar was packed with patrons awaiting today's football games. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for good bar food that is reasonably priced and serves insanely large portions.

It's hard to find outside seating with outdoor heaters these days. Lucky Dog definitely adapted well. The closed tent keeps the wind from battering your face, the heaters, and even a TV. I know keeping this up through winter might pose a challenge, but I hope they keep this setup for as long as they can. I had the Turkey Basil. Good. The only thing I think it lacked was a texture component. Maybe add a strip or two of bacon or even some lettuce. I would have preferred more basil in the mayo too. My husband had the 'World Famous Roast Beef'. The only real criticism he had was that he prefers a thicker slices of roast beef. Lucky Dog has been a Lancaster staple for a very long time. I hadn't been in here years, mainly because I tend to stick to Lancaster City. If it were closer, I'd absolutely be a regular.

    Looks truly deceive you.

This is for the location on Willow Street. Second week in a row we walk in and it took us 13 minutes before anybody would come close to the door and then when they did, they said they would be back in a minute and they go stand and have some conversation at the bar and then the other girl goes into the kitchen and just stands there Instead of taking the 30 seconds that it would've been to see us. I would not recommend this place at all. For a place that opened up just recently you would think that they would be on their a game but for two weeks in a row for this to happen. Willow Street needs another solid competitor. Micks is good, but they're so crowded lately because they get all the business for the area.

Long time local Lancaster hangout/"dive bar" w great food & friendly service. A tradition since it was the Manor Ridge: their famous Roast Beef sandwich - best anywhere for the money. Great soups and fish n chips too. Large bar, upper level restaurant thru the bar area. Outdoor seating when weather permits.

This has some of the best casual food I've had. I highly recommend this restaurant. I commonly get the open faced roast beef sandwich.

We got the World Famous Roast beef sandwiches. They were so filled with beef. Husband enjoyed his Guinness; I had my ice tea.

The lasagna soup wasn't what I expected as there were no lasagna noodles or adequate amounts of meat or cheese in the cup that I was served. The sauce tasted like marinara which I enjoyed. Some of the wing flavors that I sampled didn't come through with enough flavor. The hot and barbecue wings were just standard to me. The steak for the steak sandwich was also very standard. I didn't see any pickle chips on the salad bar, but did settle for banana peppers. The meatball sandwich was lacking melted cheese and the grated cheese didn't help in anyway. The value of their all you can eat buffet definitely makes up for the lack of flavor in some of the wing sauces. It also helps with the issues I experienced with their steak and meatball sandwiches. The salad bar was just like how I remembered and the amount of desserts may have been decreased? The brownie and cookies were acceptable. Again, there are better places to enjoy wings, steak sandwiches, and meatball sandwiches, but you'll definitely not get the quantity at this price point of $14.50. ( Soup, hot buffet, and salad bar)

The soup she got in the bowl of soup almost looked as if it was less than a cup of soup. The customer was upset by this. Upon receiving our cups of soup, the bowl definitely did not come close to the cup of soup. I had gotten a bread bowl and chicken noodle soup. The soup was cold and it took a longer time than usual to receive our food. My family was with me and they had got the pick two with half of sandwiches. My wife was trying to get the green goddess sandwich and was told they no longer make this item however they now have a green goddess salad. The sandwiches have gotten smaller over the years, the half almost looks like a quarter now. The location itself was in rough shape, we got there around 6pm. Most tables were not cleaned off and there was noticeable dirt throughout the location on the floor. Eventhough the soup temperature wasn't great, the actual taste of the soups we had received were still pretty good. The bread bowls are always stellar.
