I came in on Saturday this week and the cashier Chris provided outstanding customer service from the moment I walked in. He was friendly, professional, and introduced me to the menu as a first timer. It's clear he genuinely cares about the customers and represents Mission BBQ well. Thanks for making my visit such a great experience, I hope to come back soon! read more

I really want to like this place but every time I order the MOIST brisket. It ends up being pretty dry and I had to slather a ton of sauce on it to eat it. The only time I got it really moist was during grand opening, which was many years ago, and OMG it was so tender and moist and delicious. I take a gamble occasionally just to see if I can get a nice juicy cut. Nevertheless, these briskets ain't cheap. Sadly to say, I'm current down bad on my brisket gamble. read more

I stopped in the other day tried the black plate which was four chicken legs with Mac and cheese and a beer. It came with this taledega sauce which was really good. The skin was a bit dry which is why it gets 4 stars not 5 read more

Great place, like many of this Franchise. The team members are great and very helpful. Food is amazing and plentiful. It is higher cost than most but you really get your food worth. Lots of seating, really worth going for BBQ specially! read more

Second time visiting but first time Ordering bbq salad. The salad itself is fresh with a huge portion but the meat added is lacking for the price you pay..$15 and they only give you one dressing. The staff member who did help me graced me with extra dressing without asking. Overall Service was swift and extremely helpful but I'm better off getting the platter with 2 sides and a drink. I won't make this same mistake again. read more

Amazing meal per usual, I brought someone for their first. James was 100/10, super attentive and courteous, he made our experience

Always a great meal at Mission BBQ. Friendly and professional service paired with great BBQ. What more can one ask for. I love that the theme inside is for their support of the military and first responders. We had the moist brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, Mac and cheese and baked beans with cornbread. Everything was fantastic. And one of the workers was kind enough to provide with a sample of the banana pudding and brownies. Both were delicious. read more

Food is always good and the training of the staff, service is about cut above the rest.

Stopped in today for some amazing BB ribs & I was not disappointed. So tender & juicy , you didn't need a knife. The fresh cut fries were a perfect complement. The decor was fascinating. The nice lady in the dining area was delightful. Overall a 5 star experience. read more

The staff here are so incredibly friendly and welcoming from the second you walk through the door. The food is always so good and all the sauces, including the ones you need to ask for are always so tasty. The place is very chill and has some really cool decorations. read more

First time visiting this place since they opened. It was quite pricey for the amount of food, but the food is quite filling. The meats are really good. So I do have to give them credit for that. There are 6 sauces on the table to try. I tried all of them with my moist brisket and only about 2 of them were nice. It was either too sweet or too tangy. Lots of strong flavors. I am generally favorable of balanced flavors. The interior is very American esque. Lots of memorabilia on American culture. I like how they have moist toilettes and lots of rolled towels to clean your hands because it can get messy. The location is good because it is close to a lot of places. It's a good experience, but not something I would come back to again. read more

Very solid BBQ spot, despite being in a nondescript strip mall it has an authentic and welcoming feel. Loved the brisket and pulled pork, highly recommend both. The baby back ribs were incredibly tender, literally falling off the bone, the texture is amazing although the taste is a bit on the saltier side. Lots of great sides to choose from, we liked both the slaw and the mac and cheese. The selection of BBQ sauces is pretty amazing, they have every style from Mississippi to Texas. Price is quite reasonable as well, meats are all between $9 - 15, sides $3 - 5 each, and they don't harass you for tips. Will definitely be back! read more

We took my brothers from out of town. Great bbq. And they treated my veteran brothers like royalty.

A little bit of Nashville in MD. Amazing service, delicious food, and great vibes. Family friendly and you had outdoor seating available. Got the brisket sandwich with the Mac and cheese as well as fries. Drenched it in the smoky mountain sauce I literally forgot to take pics of the other food orders when I went because I was just enjoying the delicious meal. Meat sweats for sure. Clean establishment. Sauces and everything you needed was at reach You have the option of lean or moist for your meats. First timer and can't wait to go back. I went to Mission BBQ because I had been craving BBQ for some reason. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants when it comes to BBQ but figured I'd give it a try. We walked in looking at the menu and the cashier Tony saw how wide eyed we were. He came from behind the counter and explained everything on the menu. By the time he was done we knew exactly what we wanted. We ordered the pull pork S and which, fries and baked beans with two ribs, sweet potato pie, 2 meats, coleslaw, mac and cheese and corn bread. My husband is a picky eater and was pleased by the flavor and options of BBQ sauce. The pulled pork sandwich had enough meat for two. The beans were flavorful and the fries were cooked and fresh. I am a fan of good fries. I will be back just to order fries for sure. There was a young lady (but I call her ma'am) who assisted with anything we needed once we sat down and I was moving a little slow due to previous week surgery and she was helpful in getting me what I needed so I didn't have to move around. Also the sweet potato pie flashed me back to my grandmas pie. It was very good filing. I will definitely go back when I fill that craving. The place was clean, well lit and the music was loud enough to hear but not loud enough youncoulsnt talk. read more

Part 2 of 2 M alphabet series. M is for Mission BBQ: I love Mission BBQ, had been to this location a couple of times, and various other locations including Columbia, Laurel, etc. I was feeling depressed in January 2022 about something, and this was great comfort food. After walking out of Mezeh across the driveway on Saturday, August 27, I conveniently walked to Mission BBQ. See my 2-star review of Mezeh Germantown. The cashier & person who brings out the food here are friendly. Since losing weight since June, Mission BBQ doesn't follow that well with my diet, but it's not the worst for my diet either. So, after my negative experience with the Mezeh, I just went with Mission knowing it'd be great. I ordered the Lean brisket instead of the mix or fatty brisket. I still indulged on the mac n' cheese because their mac is excellent and by far my favorite side there. The brisket is delicious along with the mac n' cheese. There are a variety of 6 kinds of BBQ sauce, so you try each of them. They even have a Maryland BBQ!! It's not my favorite, but it's decent. I think my two favorites are Texas & West Virginia. As far as great BBQ in MD, that's a weakness for the state. However, Mission BBQ is great, solid BBQ place. It's the 2nd best BBQ I've had in MD. The best one in the Halethorpe area in Baltimore County. The atmosphere is comfortable in there. Well lit to see your food. Western style booths & decor. Additionally, lots of various Knick-knacks often supporting our military, fire fighters, police, etc. Supporting our first responders & military is their Mission statement ie give free sandwich or even meal on 9/11 for first responders, etc. Also, country music in the background, but it's not blaring either. Additionally, their sweet tea fresh, brewed & excellent. I didn't get in August since I'm dieting and sweet tea is very unhealthy with all the sugar. But having their sweet tea every once in a while is rewarding, but every day would be excessive. Also, the restroom was clean. The wide metal urinal is interesting. If someone's aim is so bad and miss that wide urinal, he is utterly hopeless. But as I said clean restroom, and that is most important thing. In summary, excellent food, great atmosphere, supports troops/first responders, and friendly staff. read more

I really want to give them an outstanding review but cannot bring myself to do it even though I love their food. This is because they upset my wife in the last 3 consecutive visits by giving her undesirable pieces of brisket (always dry and burnt) and also the thinner staler edge pieces of cornbread the latter which I also noticed for myself. I really want to not believe that this is intentional but I think it might be. Maybe someone there has something against Asians or against my wife in particular. it is still really hard for me to believe that such a respected established would bring us this type of experience. read more

I remain very impressed with this location and the staff. The management obviously does a great job of training and working together. I have eaten pretty much every protein they offer, including several of the special holiday offerings. I am low carb so try most of the sides but not all. The dining room is spacious, the tables leave room to move around. The location remains well maintained. I've never felt uncomfortable eating here or taking my order to go, which I usually do. I have never had a problem with my order. Consistently seasoned and prepared food in a clean and well run establishment. read more

I ordered online for Christmas Eve dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, hot, and ready to serve. The order was entirely accurate, and they even wrote a nice Christmas message on the box. I had called the restaurant a few days before to confirm my order and the staff was so friendly so patient and so helpful. They even called me back to confirm my order giving me a peace of mind. I will definitely order catering from them again. read more

Husband and I dined at Mission BBQ to fulfill a craving and it did NOT disappoint! I ordered the baby back ribs and my husband ordered the brisket. Both were excellent and we enjoyed sampling all of the sauces with the meat. The only thing that was so so was the cornbread, but can you really complain when it's included with your entree? Service was fast and I would gladly eat here again. read more

I never leave reviews but Mission BBQ in Germantown was TOO GOOD to not leave a review. My family and I just PCS'd here from Germany and we decided to try Mission BBQ. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Angela and told her it was our first time at Mission BBQ, she was absolutely amazing and made our family feel so so welcomed. Angela recommended foods , sauces , etc ... it was ALL AMAZING! She is amazing!! Then we met Stacy... Stacy was absolutely amazing!! She was so so friendly, helpful and her energy was just so uplifting! My 19 mo old daughter even absolutely loved her ! Aside from the food being amazing these 2 ladies are the reason we will be coming back regularly. Thank you ladies for making us feel so welcomed read more

Dry dry and over seasoned. I didn't enjoy the ribs. I did go to the restaurant right before they closed and picked up a to go order. So maybe that impacted the quality of meat. read more

Shout out to the staff at this wonderfully friendly restaurant. Our pickleball crew from the Germantown Tennis Plex started to meet here regularly because of their good foods, nice atmosphere and above all the excellent service. Recommended by my colleague, I ordered the Burnt Ends Briskets that was not on the menu. After getting our orders, I noticed that his came with the sauce and the briskets looked sumptuous. I went back to the counter and asked for the sauce to put on mine since I didn't order it with the sauce. To my surprise, the nice lady behind the counter brought me a whole new order with sauce in the briskets knowing that I liked my friend's order better. What a gracious service!! Our group would also like to acknowledge Eleanor who always made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meals. This Mission BBQ place gets my 5 starred rating read more

So Mission BBQ is one of the the best places when it comes to sides I feel, they have the cornbread that is delicious, Mac and cheese, fantastic, and greens plus a whole lot more. I've had pretty much everything on the menu and the Ribs and Brisket are by far the best meats I think. The Ribs you need to pick your favorite Barbecue sauce and put it on and they will be delicious after that. Service is great your always greeted with a smile and everyone is very friendly, I've never dine in although it seems like a very warm and nice environment. read more

Very solid american BBQ! I got the short ribs, brisket, and side of mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was good but nothing special, but the short ribs and brisket were really good!! Some of the most tender and flavorful I've had compared to other BBQ places. The ribs were falling off the bone :3 I just wish there was more brisket... it was 4 small pieces in one whole order (see picture) and I was expecting at least a little more for the price :( Both came with corn bread. And parking is very easy since it's a huge plaza with tons of parking spots!! read more

This was our first time at Mission BBQ. Didn't quite know what to expect. First impression... a large dining room cleverly decorated. Clerk at ordering register was very friendly right off. Helped us make some good choices. We both got multi-meat platters. Both got brisket and sausage and I got additional pulled pork. Brisket was great! Tender and juicy. Sausage was really good. My friend had version with chili peppers in it. Pulled pork very tasty. There are six choices in sauces on the table. All were good but I settled on the Smoky Mountain. Sweet and just right fit my taste in BBQ sauce. Each entree included a piece of corn bread. An added treat. I had really well made and flavored beans and a very fresh coleslaw. Unlimited drinks. Before we were finished someone came and asked us how our meal was. They even brought us a sample of the pulled pork. All in all a great lunch. We'll definitely be back. Nice to have a really good BBQ place nearby ! read more

I just needed to update my review because quite frankly, they deserve it! This Mission has super fantastic staff. I arrived on NYE 20 mins before closing and there was no staff rushed or annoyed. Everyone was as friendly and thorough as if it was noon. Monica waited in me and introduced herself when I stepped to the register. We chatted briefly about evening plans and she was helpful on a last minute addition to my order. Monica and the staff that are like her is what makes me loyal to places. The food can always be good somewhere but if the service stinks, I'll pass in a heartbeat. Everything remains true about the food. They also do amazing catering services! read more

I was sad to have seen the opening rescheduled twice but we finally came in!! The staff was very welcoming and friendly as it was our first time at any Mission BBQ. We were helped with our menu to make the right choices, not just for us adults, but for the kids as well!! We were surprised we didn't have to wait too long as it's our least favorite part of going to eat. As soon as we saw our food coming we all got very excited. The 3 meat sampler was extremely delicious. I was surprised no sauce came on it at first, but soon as we saw the "6 pack" of bbq sauces, we were excited to try them all. That's what made everything even better! The fries were very well seasoned. The cornbread.... omg... the best way to finish off. We will definitely be coming more often!! read more

I was watching Texas BBQ championships when it gave me an immense craving for BBQ. Since Famous Dave's closed near us, this was the next best place I know to go for BBQ. I came back again to get the right order and got 2 blueberry cobblers on the house. What a nice touch! read more

I've always been a fan of Mission BBQ. I used to go all the way to Laurel, then Rockville for Mission BBQ. Glad the Gtown Branch is as good as the others. I love the ambiance of support for military, police, firefighters, and first responders. I love picking amongst the six sauces and the Carolina vinegar. I prefer the moist brisket. The lean brisket feels dry and is not as tender as I'd like. Their ribs are pretty good too, as they are tender and fall off the bone. Their baked beans with brisket is tasty. This was my first time going to Mission BBQ and I didn't expect too much because it's a franchise bbq restaurant. They made me eat my words. From the moment I walked in, I was mesmerized. The smokehouse smell of the restaurant made my mouth water and the customer service was out of this WORLD! I think the associates name was Brandon... he needs to own this location. He went over and beyond our expectations, recommending food, letting us try all the sauces, serving and bussing our table... he was amazing! I had the brisket sandwich (I recommend not lean) and my boyfriend had 5 rack rib; each plate came with a cornbread and we paid extra for sides (truffle Mac and cheese HIGHLY recommend). Then we got an Oreo mousse dessert and it was amazing! I definitely will come back again! They were sanitary and had both indoor and outdoor seating! read more
