This establishment took such great pride on one word- service. Top notch food service for my family and my self and top notch respect to those who serve our country. It was a breath of fresh air to see the love showed to our military personnel and other civil servants while having some delicious food here. The pulled pork and brisket was extremely good as were the sides but the real kicker are the sauces.. West Virignias and Texas were the most delicious in my opinion. I had wanted to eat here for a very long time and finally made it there for dinner! I had the pulled chicken sandwich, Mac n cheese, and the green beans with bacon bits. Everything was really good! I tried almost every BBQ sauce and enjoyed the Smoky Mountain one the best. I do wish the Mac n cheese was more cheesy but it was still good! My boyfriend and his friend got the pulled pork and said they thought it was too salty, but ate all of it just the same. Definitely would recommend! read more

Positives: Great atmosphere. Comfortable and attractive dining room. I love the focus on the military and local law enforcement. I like all of the beverage choices. Cons: This is just average BBQ at best. I realize these places don't employ seasoned pit masters, but the BBQ is just a step above going to Aplebee's. The pulled pork is dry, the ribs are completely overcooked and mushy, the sausage is just plain bad. It's a shame that most Delawarians aren't accustomed to good BBQ and have rated this place so highly. read more

Visiting Dover and told my friend she HAD to try Mission BBQ - It did not disappoint!! We had the ribs, brisket, collard greens, Green beans and Mac n cheese -- all delicious. Went today for lunch with my friend. I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich. We both ordered baked beans as a side. My friend raved about her pulled pork and that is the only reason I gave them 2 stars. I took one bite of my salmon and realized it was raw inside. I told a lady who I presumed to be the manager. She in turn told me that it was not raw without even looking at it. She seemed annoyed and asked if I wanted something in it's place without offering to cook it more. I said sure, I'll take the chicken which was 3 dollars less than the salmon and she didn't offer to refund the difference and no apologies were given. The chicken was not great but at least it was cooked all the way. Don't think I'll be returning or recommending anyone there. read more

This is a fabulous barbecue restaurant. The best brisket to be found in Dover and as good as most we found in San Antonio. The half chicken is huge and very tasty. Love all the sides we've tried especially the baked beans. Service is exceptional. Prices cannot be beat. Take out experience is perfectly safe nd comfortable. Always a fan of Mission BBQ. Food is consistently delicious. Between the different black plate specials they offers to the wonderful staff they have it's a great lunch destination or dinner with the family. I believe the also offer a private room and catering as well if you were to host a meeting. My fav is the Espresso Rubbed Smoke Sirloin. Sooooooo delicious with a side of fries and the BayBQue sauce. Went here a couple times up until my last visit. The commitment and compassion they have for the military is great. Lots of cool decor throughout and friendly staff. They do a discount while in uniform which is also appreciated. The food is good, and the sauce offerings are amazing. I don't think there is one I didn't like. The manager brought around some blackberry (I think?) cobblers 'on the house' to our table. It was 3 coworkers and I. All four of us had food poisoning for the next 24 hours. I haven't been back since and I cannot return to another Mission BBQ probably ever. Too bad. read more

the fish was dry, the help is very unhelpful. The sausage is grest. The food is fine. it is often very busy. They tend to be very rushed and that contributes to the overall sense that they are not very friendly. The portions are ok. The prices are fine. The ability to get two meats allows you to try more. There are a variey of vegetable and drink add-ons that are worthy of their reputation. I have been to other locations and think this is just one of the busier ones and on a quiter day I may enjoy myself more. The restrooms were clean. read more

This was just one of two sides on their combo special ( choose 3 or their 6 or 7 types BBQ) and choose 2 sides for $15. More food than 2 people can eat and world class barbeque. (I've tried the brisket, pulled pork, sausage and ribs). The owner chef seems to know what he is doing. Not the best I've had but it's traditional (Brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, etc.). Six sauces on the table to choose from so if the meat is to dry then you can cover it in BAY-BQ (which has a hint of old bay) or my personal favorite, the Tupelo Honey Heat. We were driving back home from Washington DC last weekend and took the backroads in Delaware after stopping at Dover AFB. The main road had a lot of interesting new places on it but Mission Barbecue particularly struck my interest. I love bbq and being further south than I typically am I though why not. What also grabbed my attention was the big smoker truck on the lawn with a USO design. Being that me and my father are both veterans and I always received support from the USO I knew we had to stop. So as we walk inside we see a cozy upscale fast food style place with awesome military decor all over the walls etc. That made the place amazing in itself! When I got up to the counter to order they had a great selection of all of your typical bbq food plus they also had some new ones im not used to ever seeing in New England like Cheesy potatoes, blueberry cobbler etc. I got those two sides as well as a sweet tea and pulled chicken sandwich. The pulled chicken sandwich was tender and the sweet sauce went well. The restaurant was really clean and fresh and what I would consider a chipotle styled barbecue chain restaurant. I really wish there were more of these closer to Connecticut, I would be there all of the time! read more

Ok the brisket sandwich is pretty decent. They don't have beer and with barbeque that is a shame. The cole slaw was average as was the Mac and cheese. The selection of gourmet soda was a nice touch. Outdoor seating is a place! The potato salad is the bomb! For sauces the Memphis Belle, Texas Twang and Kansas City are great the other 3 are so-so. $24.38 for two of us to eat lunch which wasn't bad! Overall enjoyable the people are very friendly!
