Didn't seem like anyone really had to wait long for their table. The menu is huge and took us awhile to decide (major FOMO concerns). Portions were very large and everyone loved what they had. Be aware they are cash only and the bathroom is outside around the back and you need a key to access. Definitely recommend checking this place out. As much of a staple this diner is supposed to be in the city of Worcester, and as many times I have visited, and been pleasantly delighted, I must say that my last visit a few months ago was horrible. I walked in at least 15 minutes before they were closing for the day and sat at a booth and was ignored, and then was told right at closing that I could not be served which is unacceptable! You people made me wait and sit there for 15 minutes and I could've easily gone someplace else if I had known that you were no longer serving lunch or brunch. That is no way to treat a long time. Moved into the area in December and one day it came up on my Yelp so I said we'd try it; we love supporting small businesses. After finally making it, the only downside is that they don't have enough high chairs. I called one Saturday in which we were going to go because we have twin boys, at the time, under one in addition to a four year old and I wanted to be sure they could accommodate us. I was sad to hear they only had one high chair. So we made a plan to go when the kids were at daycare. Finally went over today and the food was as good as the customer service. On our drive home, we were so so hungry and we came across Miss Worcester Diner on Yelp! On the inside, the place is quaint and has a very homey diner feel to it. We were lucky enough to get a table right away. The menus are already on the table and we didn't realize there was 2 separate menus- one for the regular food and one dedicated to French toast! I had the corned beef hash (called the Irish breakfast here) (homemade version and not the slightly cheaper canned version) and it was one of the best I have ever had. I love corned beef hash and tend to order it wherever I go so I can compare them. This was the highest, if not the best ever! I also ordered the grilled banana bread, which I have not seen on too many menus and it was so moist and delicious I couldn't stop eating it. My son had the American Breakfast (steak and eggs) and my husband had grilled pastrami and eggs (which was his special order and is not on the menu) - it was good but think he wished he had ordered my corned beef hash ;-), and then my daughter had the chocolate chip French toast. It was just so DARN good and then the atmosphere is so authentic, they have been in business since 1948. We went on a Friday morning and it was really busy, we are going back on a Sunday and hope we can get there in time to avoid the lines, I am certain there will be lines for this place. Today was my first visit to this diner. It was the halfway point between myself and a friend. We met there and were so impressed with how quickly the staff were able to seat us and more importantly, how attentive the busy staff were to those waiting to be seated. Somehow they mentally kept track of which party was which and who should be seated next. Very very impressed there. The food came out quickly and was presented well. As my friend and I had so much to catch up on, we eventually took our conversation outside (after we paid) and sat on the bench outside the diner. We went on to talk there for another hour and saw many groups of patrons coming and going to the restaurant. At some point, one of the waitresses came outside and brought us ice water saying they noticed we were still outside chatting and thought we might like some water since it was getting hot. We were so taken aback and grateful because yes it was hot but also because the staff were still quite busy attending to the new customers and yet they still managed to notice us outside. What a great place to grab breakfast. Service and food was great. The experience there was great--being in an old school diner. Also they have some some aloha vibes in the menu with dishes that include spam of course. I'm digging it. This place is definitely one of the Woo's hidden gem. I've driven by this diner so many times and finally decided to try it. I had the eggs Benedict here and it was very tasty. They also have a great selection of hot sauces as well by the counter. From sriracha, garlic sriracha chili sauce, to Carolina reaper hot sauce. If you're an avid hot sauce fan, the reaper was tastyyy. Definitely had some heat. I did take a few pictures but unfortunately that same day I had to exchange my phone. I'll definitely return the next time I visit. It's a great place as long as you don't go in there with an injury or some sort of handicap. The women seem very irritated with me that I had to sit on a booth instead of a stool. Are used to own a small business there's nicer ways of dealing with people. I've been going there for years, I found it very embarrassing. They want able-bodied college kids any sort of handicap or injury stay away from that place they have no tolerance for it. Turns out this review was a little to rough for viewers and I get it. Ethically I would think it could have been handled differently. I walked in at 1:59 and she said they were closed...at 2pm. I came on a Saturday morning and I was lucky enough to get a front-row view of Kyle absolutely dominating the kitchen. He was pumping out orders flawlessly all morning and not even breaking a sweat. I got the French toast sandwich that was stuffed with bacon, sausage, cheese, and a sunny side up egg. It also came with a side of seasoned home fries. The two servers were also very sweet and helpful. The place is rather tiny and crammed but it feels like home. Be extra nice to the staff and tip well!
