I've driven by this location many times and finally decided to stop. It was a little smaller than I was anticipating but that didn't take away from the food or the service. The best Banh Mi I've had in the area. It was fresh, well made bread. I personally would've liked a little more pork on the sandwich, but it was very good the way that it was. The shrimp spring rolls are a nice size and always a great go to for me. For those on a keto diet or who are watching your carbs they do have a stirfry no carb noodle dish available. Such a quiet and peaceful restaurant!! Their menu is small in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants but they still have the basic essentials! Their pho is only one size and it you want more, you can pay for extra noodles or meat. I was very pleased by their no carb noodles! We got to talk with the owner about her process and how she makes all her broths from scratch over many hours. We had the combination beef pho, rare beef pho, chicken spring rolls, crispy egg rolls, white tea and Vietnamese coffee. Was our first time there and was a pleasant experience. Came in shortly after opening. Ordered the original fresh spring roll and the pork spring roll. The pork spring roll had something crunchy in it, like a fried rolled wonton paper. Wasn't expecting that but it wasn't bad. It took a little while to get our food. Usually when ordering pho the process is normally pretty quick. My husband ordered the combination pho I ordered the meatball. Both tasted pretty good. Broth needed a little more flavor. Found myself adding salt to try and bring out some more flavor. As we was there they started to get busy for lunch. Was nice to see customers come in and the waitress already knowing what they are ordering. Nice to see a restaurant with so many returning customers. I was exploring Hurst looking for a place to eat. I saw the pretty sign and thought "Man.. if it's remotely shady inside, I'm getting the heck out of here. " My Mom and I stepped in and was extremely surprised by their pretty decor. Their light green walls were highly appealing as well as their pretty lighting. Being Vietnamese and all, I was super used to reading menus in Viet- I was totally shocked to see that it was all in English. It took me a few minutes figure out what was what since I never really had to translate any of the dishes before, aside from giving a rough description to my non-Viet friends. I settled on chicken pho and grilled shrimp and pork vermicelli. The pho had a pretty good broth but the chicken breast slices were a little dry. On the other dish, I wished the vermicelli wasn't so cold because it cooled down my meat too quickly. Next time I'll get rice for sure. :) A few cool pointers about this place- it's super clean and pretty, no msg whatsoever, great vegetarian selections (tofu this and that), carb conscious menu (they have carb-free noodles!), and a kick-ass selection of teas. Our waitress was sooo Vietnamese (the tell tale signs.. trad Viet jewelry and distinct accent) but when we spoke to her in Viet, she answered in English. Miss Saigon Cafe in Hurst is a jewel of a restaurant, hidden in a strip mall in Hurst, TX. This might be one of the last places that you would expect to find good Vietnamese food, but believe me, the trip is well worth it. The decor and atmosphere are relaxing and friendly. Very clean, modern, dimly lit, sunlight streaming through the doors blocked off by a partition. The owner, a very friendly lady, not sure of what her name is, welcomes everyone with friendly greetings and conversation. This is the type of place where there are a big group of regulars who realize a good thing when they find it. I have been there a few times, pho being my favorite dish there. If not the veggie pho, I get the shrimp pho. Once you taste it, you can really tell the difference between fresh pho, and pho from other restaurants. The broth was perfect, not at all too salty (and no MSG!). The side dish of Thai Basil, cilantro, lime and sprouts were all fresh and bright. The shrimp tasted fresh (they didn't taste previously frozen like some other places), and there were plenty of them in my bowl. Put together, it was a beautiful, colorful array of edible art. I would also recommend the Jasmine tea...very comforting. I will continue to be a regular patron as long as everything stays the same. read more

There's not that many vietnamese restaurants around Hurst so you get what you get! This is a pretty good restaurant! normally if its like a random restaurant outside of their norm population then it's not good. Their pho is authentic! it's actually better than some restaurants in Dallas! I had pho tai bo vien and the bowl was big! Bigger than the bowls they offer at other restaurants. I've finally found a pho place that meets my standards!! Thanks to you fabulous yelpers, I asked a friend to pick me up some shrimp pho at this cafe because of the rave reviews. Again, you all were right! The pho broth was flavorful and they didn't skimp on the shrimp, lime, sprouts or the sauces. Thanks to you my tummy is happy and my nasal passages are slightly clearer. For a very "Americanized" restaurant, it was decent. I say this because of their lack of pho options. I, also, believe that if a restaurant has pho and it isn't the main focus of the restaurant than it can't be good. In essence, these places typically make their pho broth with fake bouillon cubes and not from scratch (boiling bones and meat). Location - It's located in a shopping center right by the NE Mall. It's easy to go to and you can bypass the mall traffic to get to it. It's parallel to 820 and is a quick jump off the high way. The restaurant has a good amount of tables and when we went during a weekday lunch hour, it wasn't too busy. It was good to be seated immediately, but given all of the choices in this area I wasn't too surprised. They had a really nice touch when it came to their interior decor and the atmosphere they created. Food - I ordered the grilled chicken and rice plate (~$9). It was a good portion and left me feeling quite full from all of the rice. I wouldn't have served myself such a large heap of rice but decided to clean my plate haha. The dish was good and if I were to return I would order this after I tried something else. But if you're like me (comments from above) I will probably skip the pho here. My friend had it and the color of the broth just wasn't what it should've been and it did not have much else in it. Small portion of meat, but they did at least have a small plate of sides (bean sprouts, lime, etc.) like an authentic Vietnamese pho house. So many people stopped in for to go order pick ups, so despite the small numbers actually dining in, people love this place. read more

I would like to give this spot more stars. I grew up in a very large Vietnamese community. This food is missing the authentic flavors bá used to use. The bahn mi should be made on a French baguette. Mine was made on a roll style bread. The sauces were not appetizing. The soft style bread got soggy and was so gross we ended up throwing away the other half of our sandwiches. French baguettes are used to be able to soak up any meat juice and not end up soggy. Not sure if we would give this place another chance. read more

Cozy restaurant with friendly staff. Not authentic Vietnamese food. I asked the asian server how the pho was and whether it was authentic. She smiled and replied no. Should have guessed that based on the non-asian crowd there, but points to her for the honesty! Given that I didn't want to be disappointed by unauthentic pho but wanted soup, I ordered the tilapia vegetable soup and some spring rolls. Both were okay. I've been here before but didn't quite remember the food. This review is only for the chicken pho. Upon opening the broth, I noticed that it was very cloudy and lacking aromatics typically found in pho. Cinnamon, coriander, star anise...just to name a few spices were completely absent. All we got was an unpleasant boiled chicken in water flavor...even a little gamey if you will. Everyone makes pho differently but most of the time the broth is clear and flavorful. This one at Miss Saigon was flat and completely lacking salt as well. The portion size was good. The chicken is shredded and tasted alright. However, that broth was just so poorly done and dirty. I frequent this restaurant 3-4 times per week. I always eat the chicken pho and substitute with low sodium broth and glass noodles; it is the best pho soup I've had and I've tried dozens. The food is excellent and priced modestly. Also, they offer a punch card which brings the price down even more. My friend from Amsterdam came to town for 3 weeks and he was hooked as well. DON'T DO IT! I just moved to the area. Was starving and craving some pho so I thought I'd give it a try. I called ahead to put in the order to go. Upon arriving, I didn't notice the fragrant scent of pho in the air, that was 1 red flag. But then I thought well maybe that's not their signature dish here. Upon entering there was a couple to my left having bowls of pho so I thought that may be a good sign. I also saw a couple of Vietnamese ladies leaving, (if we don't even eat there, it can't possibly be good!) The place was empty. Nice music playing. It didn't smell like any other Vietnamese restaurant I had been in with fragrant scents of traditional cuisine, red flag 2. It took quite awhile even though I called ahead. I also mentioned that I had never been there before, so hopefully I wouldn't be disappointed. I didn't see any Vietnamese staff members, red flag 3. Can you learn to make the food right and not be Viet, yes indeed! But the chances of that are rather slim! After getting home, the to go presentation was great, but the noodle portion size was small. Additional condiments/toppings were good. I was feeling good about this! Until I took the lid off the broth... Instead of being clear/with a hint of color, it was dark brown?! NOT what pho is supposed to be at all! Red flag number 4. You add the color with the condiments, it should never be like that from the beginning! I took a whiff... I kid you not, it smelled like a wet dog! I had to stop myself from thinking about it and I just had to eat it because I was hungry and didn't want to waste any food. The price was a rip off and the broth is huge in the outcome of a good bowl of pho. I was so disappointed! The cook/staff at Miss Saigon Cafe should seriously go have some real pho and do everything they can to improve on their version of the broth. And more than likely everything on their menu (because if you don't care enough about the pho, which is the staple of Vietnamese cuisine, I doubt anything else will be up to par). They should totally change the name of their establishment. It's truly an embarrassment. I honestly don't know how they've stayed in business. Pho Bang in Garland is the best place to eat pho and it's worth the distance no matter where you are. Not only that, everything on their menu is on point. Eat the real stuff so you at least know what's good and what's not worth your time, money or taste buds! But if you don't know what the real stuff tastes like, you're just selling yourself short and not even realizing it! read more

I cannot count the times I've been here over the past decade. I try Vietnamese restaurants throughout the Fort Worth and mid-cities area, but I keep coming back here. My favorite is the pork vermicelli (Bún Tht Nng). My wife isn't a fan of Vietnamese food, so whenever I'm in Hurst area, this is my place to stop for lunch. I am a bit of a Pho snob, I love Pho. I had lunch here yesterday and it was probably the worst Pho I have ever eaten. They don't have hot chili oil, however they do have some sort of chili sauce (yuck). Once I placed my order it took about 25 minutes to come to the table, i mean everything is already cooked, it shouldn't take that long. Once my order arrived it was incorrect. The restaurant is obviously popular because around 6:30 on a Saturday afternoon it filled up with a steady stream of local residents, a mix of Asian- and Euro-American ethnicities. Ok....I reviewed this place before a couple years ago....turns out I was ordering the wrong thing. I'm in love with this price now! Four things that have turned into favorites for me: Their Rare Meat Pho, their Crispy Eggrolls, their Pan Fried Dumplings and their Chocolate Boba. The Crispy Eggrolls come out steaming hot and are delish! They come with a carrot sauce but I subsitute that with their yummy (but somewhat thick) peanut sauce. Their dumplings are tender, full of flavor and come with an "I don't care what it is but it tastes amazing" sauce to dip them in. The Chocolate Boba is a great drink. Basically a thin chocolate milkshake with big black bubbles that give it an interesting texture. Lastly, the Pho. I get it with the rare steak. The broth is amazing. I'm not a huge vegetable lover....so I don't put the bean sprouts in the pho. I put some of their chili garlic sauce in there to spice it up, along with the jalapeno's and a squeeze of lime. The meat is awesome, the broth is awesome (especially on a cold day) and the noodles are great too. The serving size is massive so it's a great value. I've eaten here 3 times in the past 6 days.
