Whipped ricotta, sweet potato hummus
Julia J.

Was so excited for this meal, but thought it was just ok. I absolutely LOVED the whipped ricotta, and I really enjoyed the bluefin tuna crudo special. The crispy cauliflower had a great crunch & good flavor, and the crispy salmon was also enjoyable. The short rib kebab had a weird flavor to me / I did not like it at all, and I was nooot a fan of the sweet potato hummus (weirdly cold / dry, flavorless). Service wasn't great. Sadly will not be returning

Chicken Shawarma Hummus.

As a fan of Theodora, I was excited to come to Miss Ada. Surpringly, I liked this even more all because of their dips. On a Friday evening, my friend and I came in as walk-ins and got a spot at the bar. The space is a bit tight, but it works if you don't make a reservation ahead of time. I was pretty hungry, and everything we ordered was more than enough food. To start, we had the Whipped Ricotta ($14), Muhammara ($14), and Chicken Shawarma Hummus ($18). Absolutely loved every dip, which were all different in its own ways that I can't even choose a favorite. The ricotta was a sweet one that gave a nice contrast from the savory spices of the other two. I liked how much chicken they added for the hummus too, so you're getting almost a whole meal. You'll definitely need extra pita for all this, which does fill you up. We did also get a Radicchio Salad ($19) for some greens plus a Beef Kofta Skewer ($20) for some meat. Both of these dishes were solid, but could pass on them next time. Definitely recommend any of the mezze and hummus here; it's all you need. This is a really great date spot or group dinner. Perfect to have a drink or two while enjoying some pita and dips mostly.

Tuna crudo

I came here with my sister and had dinner the other night. Staff was nice and ambience is casual and intimate. Tuna crudo on the seasonal menu - a bit on the salty side but good. Muhamara - a bit too flavored if that's makes sense? The spices overpower the base flavor a bit . Also it's on the dry side. I like muhamara a little more smoother. Not my favorite muhamara Ricotta - very creamy and smooth, almost like a sweet cream cheese or creamy condensed milk. A bit nostalgic Short ribs - a little sweet, nice balance of flavor profile with the meat, vegetables and hummus. A bit on the spicier side with a kick. Pita is soft and warm very fresh, quite good!! Eat while it's still warm because it does get less good the longer you wait.

Hummus Masabaha- Fall Salad version. $18. Very tasty

I was at this dimly lit and popular restaurant as a late birthday present for one other person a while ago. They describe themselves as Mediterranean, but their menu is more Levantine, with mostly Israeli influences, and the name comes from a Hebrew word as well. This is the sister restaurant to the very difficult to get into but outstanding Theodora. The latter is much better than this place, but their style is very different, so it's harder to compare. The latter specializes in open fire and dry aging thanks to their Josper grill, while this place is more casual with small sharing/mezze style. The person I was with primarily eats vegetarian food, so we stuck with mostly vegetables outside of one of my skewers, and we enjoyed our food overall. The staff was very friendly, and the inside was dimly lit, so pardon the terrible photos. From the small plates, we got the $14 Whipped Ricotta with brown butter, honey, and sage. The ricotta was soft and creamy, but it was a tad sweet. This made it a bit less balanced than the wonderful version at their sister spot, but it was still tasty and went well with their pita. I think a bit of sea salt or a bit less honey would do wonders. From the Hummus Masabaha, or masabacha, we got the Fall Salad for $18, with butternut squash, shiitake, and rosemary. The base is listed as hummus and chickpeas in tahini, with masabacha being a slightly different variant of the usual hummus, as it is a bit runnier, with most chickpeas kept whole. The topping was delicious, with plenty of earthy mushrooms along with the sweet roasted squash. I would recommend this, though they appear to switch it up occasionally with a version topped with Israeli Salad. Most of the other versions are topped with meat, and I would not mind trying their merguez or chicken liver versions. The only small plate we didn't like was the daily special, the $19 Little Gem Salad with pears, grapes, mustard lemon vinaigrette, watercress, and pepitas. The topping was nice with the bit of sweetness from the pears and grapes, but there wasn't that much of it compared to the overabundant lettuce. I found the mustard flavor a bit overpowering, so the overdressed salad wasn't tasty after a while. The remaining savory dishes were two of the skewers. I had the delicious Dry Aged Beef Kofta for $21, with pine nuts, miso tahini, habanero relish, and shallots. Kofta can range in spots, with some being a little bit too dry and not meaty enough. This was the opposite, with the kofta being tender and rich, with the pine nuts adding a nice crunch. Otherwise, there was a bit of spice from the relish, the miso tahini added some umami, and the grilled shallots added another fun texture. This was excellent. I tried a bit of the other person's $19 Halloumi, served with green tahini, peas, husk cherries, and silan. This was also tasty, though definitely a lot less flavored in my dish. The green tahini had a nice, slightly nutty flavor, and I liked that the halloumi had good grill marks. We shared a dessert at the end. This was the reasonably priced and alright Kanafeh, which was $9, with kadaif, lavender, goat cheese, and honey lavender gelato. Kanafeh, along with its 10 other spellings, is one of my favorite Middle Eastern desserts, if not my favorite, so I'm a bit of a kanafeh snob. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet compared to some other places, with a bit of funk from the goat cheese and a unique bit of floral flavor from the lavender. However, the cheese pull lacked slightly, and I prefer the kadaif, or shredded filo, to have a bit more crisp to it. It was still good, and hard to complain at that price point, especially when served with gelato, which added more sweetness and more of that unique floral flavor. While not nearly as good as Theodora, I would still recommend this place. If I were to go back, I would order one of the hummus and probably the same skewer.

I came here on a sunday evening with a reservation and got seated immediately! We were out in the patio area which was cute, but extremely loud. Our waiter was super attentive and helped us out with what to pick from the menu. We ordered 4 dishes to share: Whipped ricotta (10/10) we cleaned the plate it was so good Short rib hummus (8/10) really good with a slightly spicy kick to it Mackerel skewer (9/10) this was a special and had really crispy skin. The Aji sauce was also good! Octopus skewer (9/10) perfectly cooked with a nice crisp! We left stuffed and would absolutely come again

My 2 friends and i came on a Friday night at 915pm and were able to get an outdoor table fairly quickly. They sat my friend who was there by herself before we got there which was nice. We ordered the labne, sweet potato, hummus, short rib with hummus and the half chicken. And that was enough to split between the three of us. We got a second order of pita. And we each got a drink. The total came out to about 50 bucks per person. Definitely a little expensive but very delicious. Our server was amazing.

My friend got a reservation for Sunday brunch and it was bustling when we got there. Friendly staff and no delays in service. We were seated in the back heated patio area. Got to try a variety of plates and enjoyed the merguez the most, but it definitely had a spicy kick to it. Boreka was nice and flaky. French toast felt bit too sweet

First time back since they opened and so glad I did! Brunch was delicious. We had a reservation and were seated right away. They've expanded with outdoor seating in the front and more in the covered backyard. We shared some dips, market salad, three cheese pizza, and chicken schnitzel between three of us and it ended up being more than enough food. Our favorites were the Malawach pizza and Lamb shawarma hummus. Would like yo try dinner next!

Service: 4.7/5 Food: 3.9/5 Price: $40+ Quite a popular choice, we could only get a 5PM resy. I appreciate that the check-in area has heated lamps for these cold winter nights. Deceptively large space, though I didn't get to explore much as we were sat at the front of the restaurant + I didn't venture to the bathroom. We had a super helpful waiter who answered our questions + gave us guidance on how many dishes to order + what portion sizes to expect. Dishes (aside from entrées) come out in quick succession, beginning almost immediately. 20 min in, we already had 1/2 our our order. General consensus of the food: shareable, small portions (think tapas), slightly overpriced (esp skewers), + BOLD flavors (esp the soup). But maybe I'm not appreciating all of the ingredients + craftsmanship. *recommend What I Ordered: - Pita Bread*: warm + fresh, probably, one of the best I've had - Chicken Shawarma Hummus: regular hummus, dry chicken - Fried Cauliflower: not super crispy, tangy sauce - Jerusalem Artichoke Soup: OH MY, so many layered FLAVORS + a growing spice, small + we split, liked the crunchy almonds - Salmon Belly Skewer*: so tender + flavorful, too much labneh plated, keep your pita for this - Kanpachi Crudo*: met expectations, fresh fish - Winter Greens Salad: tart vinaigrette dressing, good contrast to the rest of our meal, sweet figs even in winter - Hanger Steak (medium rare): came out too rare, not sure the cut, probably overpriced

sweet potato hummus ($14) - saw a bunch of people recommend this but i personally didn't really see the hype - it was just sweet potato with a bit of spice mixed with other flavors that i wasnt really fond of - i realized i like my sweet potato just plain and charred instead of something too fancy - it's not bad but im not impressed whipped ricotta ($14) - this was very yummy! I thought it would be quite heavy but when paired with the pita bread it was just right - light and fluffy with a light drizzle of honey made it a great ricotta - however, ive had better ricotta before at theodora lamb shawarma ($20) - i wasn't expecting it to be a dip but it was delicate and delicious anyways - this is probably my fav dish out of all 3 - the dip was strong and smooth; tasted unique but not anything too impressive either - the lamb was super tender but it was quite strong; i dont think people would've been able to handle it if theyve never had lamb before rating: 4/5 - everything we ordered was good and the quality is definitely there so it's a solid 4 but nothing really stood out - ive had better and more innovative dips elsewhere - the vibe is cute though! It's a perfect brunch spot decorated with plants; feels like a cozy little tree house - quick service; nothing to note IG: @nom.noms.only

Shakshuka Brunch
Jean W.

Came here for bunch on a nyc trip, we wanted to go Theodora but it was closed and this place is owned by the same group --------------------------------- Food: my friend and I split 4 small plates for brunch, we ordered the lamb hummus and whipped ricotta and shakshuka and a egg/pickle sandwich dish, we both really liked the lamb hummus and the whipped ricotta. The whipped ricotta was so unique, it was creamy with hints of rosemary and honey. The lamb was tender and the hummus tasted very fresh Recommendations: whipped ricotta, lamb hummus Affordability: well priced Ambiance: we sat in the outdoor heated patio which was lovely given it was a freezing weekend Service: great! Good for: small plates/shared meals, brunch

so so divine! Located in the heart of Fort Greene lives Miss Ada serving up some delicious bites. Came in for Saturday brunch and had a lovely time! Started with the Harissa Spicy Bloody Mary, and then proceeded to order just about everything. The shukshukah fell a little flat to me, but everything else was really great. Ambiance and energy are very cute for date night, family visit, etc. Will be back for dinner!

Crispy Cauliflower
Vishnu G.

Solid overall. I had three small plates, which was a sufficient quantity for one person. The falafel was my favorite - strong notes of garlic and tasty accompaniments of pickled vegetables and harissa. The crispy cauliflower was also very good, with a satisfying crunch and nice sour notes from the amba. The Israeli salad hummus masabacha was nothing special - decent hummus topped with some diced veggies in a light dressing. Every dish was of pretty good quality, but nothing stood out compared to other similar Mediterranean restaurants. The whole meal worked out to $66 with tax and tip, which felt a bit overpriced.

It's this almost speak easy vibe behind big dark doors, you enter into a quaint space with small cocktail tables for seating and bar room. The cocktails were simply outrageous. Crafted to perfection with potion bottles used as finishers (yes potion bottles for their perfect witch craft making bartenders!) I think I enjoyed the bartenders work ethics as a concept the most. Sure the place was hitting the nail on the head for any speak easy, specialty cocktail seeking person's dream. But the fact that the bartenders were straight ripping through putting out eclectic drinks, with a smile on their face that was genuine was most impressive. I want to go back not just because I'm in the area. I'll go out of my way for this one. Nice job Sweet Polly!
