k9 avengers rescue service is a fantastic place. We got one of our puppies there. His name is Max…read more He is a German Shepherd. K9 Avengers takes homeless dogs, and dogs that are getting ready to be euthanized at several different places including places in California so the dogs can have a second chance on survival and have a loving home. They take the dogs to a vet in Carson city Nevada to make sure that they have all their shots and if the dog is sick, they make sure that the dog gets to see the vet to get better. They train dogs and they use their own money to feed and take care of the dogs until they are adopted. They do ask for donations for all of this, and they don't spend your donation money on stuffed animals, calendars or T-shirts to send you, they use it on the dogs. Please help this place not for the services, but for the dogs. They work their butts off saving dogs and could use any kind of help they can get. If you are looking to adopt a dog, then go to K9 Avengers on Mark Twain Road in Dayton NV and take a look at the dogs there first. These people are truly doing all of this for the love of the dogs. The puppy that I adopted from them will always have access to these people so he does not forget who saved him first and took care of him before we adopted him. I however will NEVER give Max back to them because he is home now and we love Max with all our heart and soul and so do our other dogs. He will however always get to see them so he doesn't forget them. If I could have, I would have taken all the dogs that they have up for adoption, however our HOA will only allow a certain amount of dogs per home. Thank you Kevin for letting us adopt Max and being such a wonderful parent to all the dogs who didn't have a home or were getting ready to be put down. Please help k9 Avengers rescue service any way that you can. They can always use the help and donations. Kevin, you changed our family with Max - Thank you.

He escaped from my closed in patio 8 times. Walking him was a test of patients, every little thing distracted him. Other dogs were a major problem; seems he was mentally challenged by them. Holding him back took everything I had. I am disabled and walking can be a challenge for me. I had to do something if I was going to keep him. I called multiple dog training facilities, the Only one to call me back was Stephen from Real K9 Solutions. He took Shadow for 3 weeks. When the dog came back, I was able walk him with a loose leash. He no longer attempted to escape. On walks other dogs were still a challenge, but nowhere near what it was. I can walk him today and have him sit when other dogs are near, something I would never have been able to do prior to his training. Today I have decided to keep Shadow. In fact, he is quietly laying net to me. If not for Stephen and Real K9 Solutions it would have been return number 3 for Shadow. I can't recommend Stephen and Real K9 Solutions highly enough.

Guy Yeaman Professional Dog Training - My dog Shadow

Guy Yeaman Professional Dog Training

For decades Guy Yeaman has been offering affordable obedience classes through Northern Nevada…read morecities park and rec. Like other trainers, he has his own style, but certainly  knows what he's doing, and he makes a point of  keeping his classes at a low cost. He  does something I suspect no other trainer in Northern Nevada does: after paying for the initial 6 classes participants can  return FOR FREE as often as they wish until death do the dog part. And here's what I've learned about dog training: It's kind of like learning to play the piano, You can have the best instructor in the world, but it comes down to how often and for how long the owners train their canines on a weekly basis when they are not in class. Guy understands this, which is why he allows owners to return as much as they'd likeand why he spends so much time educating dog owners as part of his courses.     In the class I took,  Guy not only had students practice the basics with our canines - come, sit, stay, etc. but he was a wealth of knowledge who taught me a lot about how dogs think, behave, how to properly take care of them, etc He is a walking/talking dog whisperer.  Point in case: in the summer he talked about how to determine whether pavement is too hot for dogs to walk on, something the dogs aren't going to be able to communicate, and it's information like this I find useful.  We had a talk in class about using dog booties and  how to keep dogs cool (buy a baby pool for your backyard).  I would have never thought about this on my own.  And when my dog started digging holes in my backyard, Guy had an answer for how to fix that as well.  As a first time puppy owner, I had a lot of questions. When my dog stopped eating for a few days, I called Guy before going to the pricey vet. Guy always stayed after each class to address any individual issues an owner had, as most group dog obedience courses tend to be big.  Some say he's a big talker, which he is, but I find his information educational.  He will spend enormous amounts of time on the phone  addressing individual issues. He has gone with me to the pet store to advise me on what things to buy. He has come to my house for a private lesson,  stayed 90 minutes, but only charged me for 60. When I was injured in a car accident and could not walk nor take care of my dog, he came and picked him up and took him to his house where he not only took care of my dog,  but trained him at his home as well. Other kennels and dog-sitting companies charge a fortune for this boarding-training service and I doubt anyone is  providing door to door service, or at least they would charge extra for this. His fees were more than reasonable and he didn't charge for the pick-up/drop-off. And it's not just me. Guy treats all of his clients with the same dedication, so I'd recommend him without hesitation, whether it's for training purposes in a group setting, or with a private lesson at your home, which I found useful, because he showed me things like how to keep my dog from jumping on my bed,  something you can't learn in a class. He had all the members of my family participate in the at-home training so we all got to practice and learn.

Guy takes a very practical approach to dog training. He deals with behavioral issues with ease…read more Highly recommend.

Now? She is the best possible version of the dog I always believed she could be. Before training, Cupcake was sweet and loving with my family, but uncontrollably reactive to outsiders. She would dash out the door to chase people walking by. I couldn't walk her because if she saw someone across the street, she would lunge and bark and lose her mind. It was humiliating and dangerous, and I was terrified she would bite someone. I hired a purely positive trainer last year. Cupcake wouldn't work with her. She just stared and refused to move. No amount of treats would convince Cupcake to walk a step, and it eventually felt like she only stopped barking in terror long enough for me to stuff more chicken in her face. At the trainer's suggestion, I talked to my vet about medication. Medication got me a dog that was both stoned and reactive. Finally, the trainer gave up, suggesting more drugs, more chicken, and more of the same. After a few months of increasing medication without any behavioral improvement, I realized that I needed to do something to help Cupcake or we were going to lose her. I knew she could be a great dog because she was sweet and loving with us. I just had no idea how to help Cupcake or manage her behavior. Enter Sean. Immediately, he was unphased by Cupcake's reactive tantrum. Sean just exuded confidence--of course he could help us; of course I could have a dog who behaves. His confidence helped me be confident. Cupcake's behavior began to improve during our first training session. You could see the gears turning in her head as she began to sort out what was expected of her. Soon, Sean had us practicing in public--taking her to dog friendly stores. Sean provided constant, regular feedback and coaching, teaching me to be a better trainer for my own dog. I felt like I was able to communicate expectations to Cupcake in a way I couldn't before. Her training was overwhelmingly positive, but Sean gave me the tools I lacked to correct Cupcake when needed. Eventually, I took Cupcake back to a park where we had once attempted a miserable walk while she lunged and barked at every passerby. This time? She walked and sat and practiced "down" while completely ignoring everyone around us. In consultation with her vet, I've been weaning her off her medication. She's a happier and healthier dog, and she's no longer stoned off her face. I feel confident taking her places, so she gets to live a more full life and I get to enjoy the dog I always wanted. Hiring KoruK9 and Sean was the best decision I could have possibly made for Cupcake and I. I'm confident in my ability to help her progress even further, and I'm also confident that I can  better introduce any future dogs into our family and avoid the issues we developed with Cupcakes. I cannot say enough good things about Sean, and would recommend him and KouK9 without hesitation to anyone whose dog needs training or behavior modification.

We went onto do 3 levels of classes with him. Classes were hands down the best investment we made for him, and he went on to live a wonderful fear-free life. I attribute his high quality of life to his basic training classes and the time we put in when he was a puppy. He learned from a very young age how to settle and be calm in lots of different situations. He learned to trust our directions which kept him safe. Puppy social is in my opinion one of the best classes to put a young puppy in. They get to meet other dogs and people in a safe environment, and the puppies teach each other soft bite and learn how to be social. We recently brought a new puppy into our lives. I love the structure of Pjs classes where your puppy is with the same dogs for the 6-week duration. The happy little puppies can all see each other during the class at Pjs, no barriers (unless required to reduce stress of the pet). I like the scaffolding approach that PJs classes offer. You build the dogs' confidence and skills up in a logical way for them to learn. Plus, the puppies are all watching each other learn the same things. It's adorable. Our new puppy has done several levels of classes at Pjs' beautiful new facility in Sparks and HE LOVES IT. He just completed his AKC Canine Good Citizen, we can now consider therapy work down the road with him. He is so excited to get in the door for any play group I take him to and to his classes. We absolutely loved Rally O with Susie, she is amazing. We have referred Susie to friends with some rescues for consultations and they have been super happy. We will complete all the classes PJ dog training offers, because our dog just loves to learn, he really likes to use his brain. He exudes happiness when we get to class. Thank you, PJ and Susie, for helping us raise a happy confident dog yet again and offering such great classes. Highly recommend Pjs, they have so much experience and are CCPTD certified. They also give you time at the beginning of any class for a quick discussion on any "challenge areas". You learn so much to help you understand your dog's behavior. All classes use positive reinforcement. You learn to build a trusting relationship with your furry family members from a place of respect and love. The facility is always so clean, and they take excellent care in making sure your puppies are safe and not exposed to any bugs. We have never had any problems. 10 stars from us!!
