    Watson, at my graduation

Life changing, wonderful, personalized work! Kendall trained my service dog, Watson, in one of the first iterations of Custom K-9's raise-and-train program. He is an incredible service dog, with discipline and skills beyond what we could've hoped and a migraine alert that is pretty reliable. Kendall worked with me and Watson for about a week at the very beginning, to hand him off to me and to help me to make us a perfect team. He's wonderful at public access and thanks to Kendall I have felt comfortable working him from the very start. Her approach focused not only on dogs but on dog-owner or dog-handler teams, which proves effective and helps dogs and people grow and learn together. Watson got me graduating college in four years, which would've been impossible without him and Kendall's help. We've gone back for moments to re-up the training and both Kendall and Chandler were hugely helpful in helping me figure out what I need to do and how to keep my dog in tip top shape. Kendall is always there to ask any questions that come up, perfect at balancing the needs of training the animal and helping handlers. I watched the Custom K9 team work with other dogs while I was visiting with Watson, and saw incredible patience and attention to the very specific needs and affinities of dogs and their people. I couldn't recommend them higher.

I have used this dog training service for three years. I started with a juvenile German Shepherd completely out of control, who now understands all basic and most advanced commands (even place). They train people as well as the dogs (most of the time), I found it was my inconsistency and when she corrected me, I could correct the dogs. We then got a Labrador puppy! OMG never had a lab before... what energy! what a mouth! He is now our year old Rocket Dogg and is a very nice young lad. I highly recommend them! They will take your dogs running and on extensive hikes too! If you need a service dog for diabetes or any kind of disability, I have seen their dogs do wonders, from opening pill bottles, picking up key, protecting epileptics who have a fit and the dog runs under them to protect their heads. They're amazing; could not say enough about this couple. They love and understand dogs, they are not cruel, they do not hit them or yell. They're the most patient and quiet and slow moving so the dog looks to them. Again whether you have them work with you for an hour or, a year or, as I do-ongoing, you'll love them!

Kendall and Chandler are the most patient, informative, hands on and on call trainers I have ever come in contact with. I started working with Kendall and Chandler in June of 2020, I brought to them my 1 year old Bernaussie whom I had solely only trained myself until them. Little did I know there was so much to learn about the basics of obedience, bonding foundations and basic solid commands/ focusing. As my dogs skills strengthened and his basics became more solid within everyday life, we started his much anticipated training in medical task work. Not only do Kendall and Chandler teach you as a handler how to handle your own dog, but they also specialize in transforming your dog into a service dog if needed. And for me that was a dream come true. Amazing trainers, amazing techniques, and amazing learning for a dog handler.

I'm attaching his response and raising my review score from one to three - can't do better as I really haven't even visited the place, but I appreciate that he made an effort to make things right: Good Morning Rob & Darcy: Thank you for your sincere advice. I apparently have not communicated as well as I should have and for that I apologize. Your comment regarding why we have dogs here for so long requires an explanation. Almost without exception every dog in our rescue has come from a shelter and was on the euthanasia list, usually within a 24 hour kill time. They have a variety of behavioral issues, either human and/or animal aggression as well as underlying medical issues, ie. hypothyroidism epilepsy, etc. It takes a long time for us to rehabilitate them. Many have to go to a home where there cannot be other animals, cannot be around young children, etc. In addition there are neighborhoods that have CC&Rs that are breed restrictive, weight restrictions, etc. Even owner surrenders many times have significant behavioral issues, mostly as a result of lack of training. It takes us a long time to diagnose the underlying issues, both physiological and psychological and begin the rehabilitation process. All dogs that we rescue receive a complete veterinary examination, in addition to vaccinations, microchipping, heart worm testing (if from CA). Some dogs because of their age, behavioral characteristics are just not good candidates for rehoming and so they end up on the sanctuary side, where they can exercise, play, and interact with us and our volunteers but are a risk to be out in the general public. We have had many dogs that we have been able to adopt out in a month or two after our evaluation and training is complete. Everything just takes time. On average we receive one to two calls daily from the SPCA, NHS, local and out of state shelters asking if we can rescue a dog(s) as they know we specialize in GSDs and working breeds. This is in addition to owner surrenders and occasionally we find dogs chained up and abandoned outside our property. So, we try to do the best that we can. I hope this gives you a bit of insight into our process and what we deal with on a daily basis. In closing I wish you best with your new pup and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Sincerely, Gordon Hutting Cold Nose Rescue & Sanctuary

He escaped from my closed in patio 8 times. Walking him was a test of patients, every little thing distracted him. Other dogs were a major problem; seems he was mentally challenged by them. Holding him back took everything I had. I am disabled and walking can be a challenge for me. I had to do something if I was going to keep him. I called multiple dog training facilities, the Only one to call me back was Stephen from Real K9 Solutions. He took Shadow for 3 weeks. When the dog came back, I was able walk him with a loose leash. He no longer attempted to escape. On walks other dogs were still a challenge, but nowhere near what it was. I can walk him today and have him sit when other dogs are near, something I would never have been able to do prior to his training. Today I have decided to keep Shadow. In fact, he is quietly laying net to me. If not for Stephen and Real K9 Solutions it would have been return number 3 for Shadow. I can't recommend Stephen and Real K9 Solutions highly enough.
