Mis Taquitos is one of those spots I hit when it's like... I'm hungry, I'm tired, and I just want something that won't let me down. It's in Mill Island so it's super convenient, and honestly that's a big part of the appeal. I'm not telling anyone it's the best tacos in Brooklyn, but I also don't regret ordering from here. The food is mostly a win. I usually do a few tacos and call it a day. They're filling, taste good, and they don't come falling apart on you. Some days the meat is really on point, other days it's a little salty or just kinda "okay" but still totally edible. The salsas are fine -- not bad, just not the type that makes you stop and go "oh wow." If you like a lot of heat you might be adding your own. Service is pretty much what you'd expect. You order, they get it together, you're out. People have been nice enough, not overly friendly but not weird about it either. If it's busy, the timing can slip a little, but nothing crazy. Ambiance is decent. Casual, can hang out if you like. It does look clean though, and the place feels like a neighborhood spot. read more

Really enjoyed this place! The ambiance was super pretty and had a great vibe--perfect for a relaxed night out. The service was on point from the moment we sat down, attentive without being overbearing. I don't usually eat Spanish food, but everything we tried was delicious and full of flavor. Horrible! Food taste nothing like Mexican food, service is worse. Don't get the chicken wings; it's baked, not fried and has zero seasonings! The drinks aren't special; bottom shelf, so you'll be sick and drunk fast. The wait staff are brief and non responsive, not helpful. The owner's wife is rude! read more

The beef empanadas were filled with a terrible tomato sauce so acidic no other flavors it may have contained could survive. The messy beef tacos gringos were filled with a similar loose meat and tomato sauce. Both items were very disappointing. Why is this empty on a Sunday night prime time? 80's music blaring Great service! Decor that made me feel like I was on vacation in Mexico!! There tequila selection is phenomenal. Beef taco was over stuffed with meat and really good. Shrimp enchiladas were good too just a bit to cheesy for me. There a bit out of the way if your coming from the beach at Riis/ Ft Tilden but worth it. I'll be back to try some more. But why are they empty I'll enjoy it while I can ... Every time I went there the food has been great. I have yet to dine in, but I'm looking forward to in the near future. Since the restaurant inside is so colorful and beautiful and it reminds me of Mexico. So far I've had two different kinds of tacos. Both have been great. I've gotten takeout both times, and the wait was very short and the food came out great and efficiently. I would recommend checking it out and maybe bringing friends. It looks like a really cool place to get some drinks and eat some delicious tacos. read more

Dinner with a friend - I suggested our first visit to Mis Taquitos based on a Facebook recommendation and we were very pleased! Adorable, quaint and cozy restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff Drinks were discounted this evening and we ordered incredibly delicious margaritas! So tasty! We shared guacamole and chips - chips tasted home made - we ordered tacos - mushroom and shrimp Taci's - the mushroom taco wasn't my fave as it was a bit overkill on the mushrooms , shrimp taco was tasty but what was most delicious was the enchilada we shared a grilled chicken and cheese enchilada it was sooooo delicious - seasoned to perfection! We also LOVED their rice and beans - the beans were best we have ever had! The seasoning on them was amazing! I highly recommend you give this place a try! They are located in Mill Basin Brooklyn so pretty close to home. There are times when I want to dine out but I don't want to travel far or to the city so having a close to home option felt pretty good..... The food was good. The birria sauce was salty. The birria taco itself was good as well as the chicken taco. The margaritas were not good. Disappointing since i saw good reviews prior. The service pleasant. The 2-5 happy hour is hard to get too, would be happier if an hour ending at 6. The chips were bland and salsa watery. The elite was good but coldish. Excellent I am definitely going back. Everything was excellent. The crab cakes were my favorite.

Ceviche looks like leftovers, half of plastic container with no trace of shrimp or cucumber (as advertised on the menu), just avocado, tomatoes and some lemony sauce. And to top it all--discovered a long curly hair inside of chimichanga's. This was picked up by my daughter at the restaurant. Never again. read more

It's cool, but something is missing. Ordered a traditional margarita and it wasn't up to par. It tasted very commercial. Sweetheart bartender but I think the skill set was lacking and/or the sour mix was of an inferior quality. Ordered a steak fajita. Steak done to perfection, nice and tender. The onions and peppers in my opinion were overcooked and extremely dark in color. No guacamole, no salsa, no sour cream came with fajita. I just felt a little short changed in the classic Mexican cuisine department. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The food is horrendous!!! Not only are they completely overpriced but the quality of the food is just bad. I came with a group of 5 we ordered the Taco meal 2 which came with 3 steak tacos and rice with beans. Our tacos came out cold as if they have been standing there for a while. I spoke to the waiter and told him it's cold, he took it back and came back with the same tacos and he had the audacity to tell me it's not cold and argued with me about it!! I said why don't you touch the meat he said he couldn't which I find interesting because that would by definition mean he's calling me as a patron a liar, unless he had in fact touched it I'm like please take it back. He takes it back again, 2 minutes later comes out with more tacos and once again it's cold... I didn't know it takes two minutes to cook a brand new steak so it seems like I was given reheated food. Unfortunately, their microwave did not seem to be working because it was exactly the same temperature. I was astounded with how the waiter did not care when I told him it's cold for the third time. I told them take it off the bill. Moving on to the rice and beans, absolutely no flavor tasted stale like it's been sitting out for days. Pleasant decor, fun atmosphere, attentive service staff. The food. All in all not bad, but compared with our favorite Mexican food place, the chef here just needs to work on some refinement. Example, the elote was smeared heavily with over seasoned spicy mayo. A light hand needed here. A little more filling and less thick pastry on the empanadas. Minor adjustments. I would definitely go back. The drinks were well made and the music inviting. Parking no issue as the restaurant is in a small strip mall. (Our favorite place in Bay Ridge is a nightmare for parking.). Nice local place, but a little pricy, then again with the increases from Covid and my being incredibly frugal (cheap) they may be spot on. read more

My wife and I had dinner at Mis Taquitos, next to Key Food in Mill Basin, Brooklyn. The sangria was great! I had chicken fajitas, which were soooooo good! My wife had shrimp burritos which were, also really excellent! All the food was freshly prepared - took a bit of time from ordering to plate, but well worth it! We also had guacamole w/chips, which was fresh and perfect! And the ambiance is so nice - reminded us of the French Quarter at Atlantic City's Tropicana hotel (Mexican version of it) - so nice! read more

despite iffy reviews me and my husband decided to give this place a chance. 1. had to wait for about 10 minutes for anyone acknowledge us. 2 sat down and had to wait for the order to be taken. finally after waiting for 20 minutes decided to leave. the restaurant does not have enough help. I've been here 3 times and when I'm done, I swear I will not go back. It's a shame that for a neighborhood place its run like garbage. The food is ok at times, but the service is absolutely horrible. They are totally understaffed, poorly managed not sure who the gentleman at the front is the, but he seems to be the problem. What staff they do have working are rude and not friendly.
