    Chile Relleno con Flautas Combo

Great Mexican food with a friendly vibe. This place is my number one go-to for Mexican food in the area. My favorite entree is the carne asada burrito- it's huge and full of flavor. I love the chips and red salsa is pretty spicy. They also have a more mild green salsa. I recently tried the chile relleno/flauta plate and it was pretty good too. They don't serve alcohol but it's BYOB. They also have a huge selection of different desserts at the front counter if you want to order one after dinner or bring one home for later. It's sometimes difficult to find street parking but there's a free parking lot around the corner towards the police station.

I decided to try this place because my go to Mexican restaurant was closed. I got the carne mole enchiladas. I enjoyed my meal, the flavor of the mole was really tasty. I would order from here again.

One of my favorites Mexican restaurants in the area. Service is espectacular. Average entree costs $19.95 due to covid and inflation, but worth it. They also have a variety of traditional beverages. Deff recommend stopping by. Uno de mis restaurantes mexicanos favoritos en la zona. El servicio es espectacular. El plato principal promedio cuesta $19.95 debido al covid y la inflación, pero vale la pena. También tienen una variedad de bebidas tradicionales. Restaurante recomendado.

Update - June 1, 2019 We're here for late lunch on a Saturday. My wife ordered Lengua and I ordered carne asada. The beef lengua is hard, not like before that was soft, it melts in your mouth. Carne Asada is the same as before, much less in serving. Entree servings are much less and their menu prices went up. I took out one star from my rating due to the changes this restaurant made.

    Tacos 2.50 each !

I have been hearing great things about Mis Amigos for a while now. Its only 5 min from my house I'm not sure why I didn't try it out sooner. There is street parking right in front of the restaurant but you have to pay the meter. (It only takes quarters, one quarter gives you one hour) There is nice outdoor seating in front of the restaurant unfortunately it was a little hot out so I chose to sit inside. The restaurant has a nice Mexican decor which gives it a homey feel. They were quick to seat me and bring me fresh tortilla chips with two salsas to choose from. My favorite by far was the dark green salsa which my server told me didn't have a name. She said it was made with jalapeños and tomato's & that was enough of a name for me. To eat I ordered 3 tacos which are only 2.50 each!! I ordered two chicken tacos and one chorizo. All of the tacos come with onions and cilantro. I saw on yelp that the fries were delicious so I ordered a small side of fries. Everything was absolutely delicious !! I loved the chorizo taco the most. Both the chicken and chorizo were seasoned to perfection ! The fries were tasty. Not too salty & had a little crunch to them! I can't wait to go back to Mis Amigos! This will definitely be my go to lunch spot from now on.

My co-workers made it out to Mis Amigos in Dunellen the other day, and they wowed me! I never am completely decided on what to order, mainly because everything on the table looks so good. I wasn't about to impose and take pics of my friends' meals, but everything came out great. On the order: Mexican beef dish, a quesadilla, a fajita, 3 massive burritos, and I got an mixed order of tacos and a side of jalapeño asado. The Mexican beef (res mexicana) looked really interesting; I'll have to try it. The fajita caught my attention and it's been a while since I've ordered one. The quesadilla is probably good for a mild appetite and the burritos looked like a healthy size. My tacos were great, and I highly recommend the lengua! I got the idea for the jalapeño by someone else at the table who's a bit more experienced than I at Mis Amigos... The jalapeño is cooked over a flame just enough to char the outer skin and soften the meat. It was hot enough to make me sweat a bead, and it was oh so good! It's officially going to be a staple item for me. Thanks for the hospitality, Mis Amigos. Hasta pronto!

My chicken breast was good (everything else on the plate was bland), and my daughter's green enchiladas were ok. My husband's birria quesadilla was very good according to him and my daughter. The service was awful! The waitress handed us iPad menus and never said to order on the tablet or if she was going to come back for our order. The menu is not extensive, just fyi. You can only get taco platters with all the same taco meat, not a variety. The enchiladas are also only 1 way for all three on the plate. Whatever...I can deal with that, if the food was great. It's not. The black beans were room temp with no seasoning, the corn on the cob - no salt, no butter. The guac was also bland. We were never offered water refills and she never asked us if we wanted a drink until after our meals came. We didn't, but it was said with a huge sigh and eye-roll. As a side note, this was a grown woman waiting on us, like an abuela, not a teenager. She never came back to our table, until she saw another waitress come over and bring us boxes for leftovers - that we had to go to the bar to ask for. Oh, important point - the restaurant was not busy, so she was not in the weeds. The restaurant could be an amazing spot if the service was better and they seasoned the food. It is NOT worth the money.

I was expecting traditional beans like the beans and rice that come at every Mexican restaurant; what I got was beans poured from a can and heated up. Very disappointing. The enchilada was ok. The veggies were barely cooked and everything fell apart. There was barely any flavor. My partner got a birria enchilada which they put in as birria tacos and it took them a long time to bring out the correct order, I was almost done with my meal. The enchilada really only had one flavor; salt. The dipping sauce was pretty good. I'm writing this review so I know never to come back and let anyone who likes flavor know that they will most likely be disappointed.

I ordered the tacos de birria de res con queso along with a jamaica drink, and the total came out to $26.44, which felt reasonable for five tacos. The restaurant serves delicious, fresh food in a very homey atmosphere. The servers are kind, attentive, and so helpful; from time to time, you might even be served by Pancho himself, who is an absolute gem! We started with the guacamole and chips, followed by the nachos, where you can customize them with your choice of meat. For our entrees, we ordered the Huaraches with steak, which is a large, handmade, slightly fried tortilla topped with beans, onions, lettuce, crema, and cheese. We also got the Tacos, which come five to an order. You can choose up to two meats, but we stuck with the classic Al Pastor. The meat was so tender and flavorful, served with the traditional onion, cilantro, and lime on the side. Finally, and my personal favorite, we had the Picaditas. Like the tacos, you can choose two meats, so we went with Al Pastor and steak. Similar to the Huaraches, these are four smaller, slightly fried homemade tortillas with green and red sauce on the bottom, topped with lettuce, onion, and cheese! To wash everything down, we had the homemade Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea), though their Horchata is also delicious. Overall, this is one of my favorite spots; it reminds me of my childhood, and the food is just as good as what you'd find in Mexico. If you're looking for an authentic experience, this is it!

I understand places get busy but management at FC has to be really clueless when it comes to "switching on" the availability on those platforms. Every time I call to ask if they deliver, I usually get a sarcastic response like yea duh of course we do but again staff is totally clueless that they haven't made themselves available on the platform. I wonder how much these guys are losing on deliveries or maybe this is a subtle hint that they don't want to deal with it because they're taking a loss on Postmates, Uber Eats, and Doordash. I can't be the only one experiencing this. To management: if you guys don't want to deal with these delivery services, cancel them and stop misleading people that you deliver. If you decide to keep them, talk to your account manager at said platforms and educate yourselves and your staff on how to use them so you can be more profitable in the delivery space. It's tough out there and it would be a shame if you guys lose business and the other Mexican spot in the neighborhood closes you out because they have staff that stays on top of operations. I'm done trying to give this place business and reminding them to update their availability.
