I just had the BEST oatmeal from here today! I am in LOVE. I always enjoy the chocolate chia pudding and the juices are okay. I just wish the prices were clearly written on the boards. Can't state how much I love this place! Their açaí bowls are like no others that I've ever had -- much more of a sorbet consistency. Fruit is always perfectly cut and fresh and the bowl is layered with all of the goodness (handmade granola is to die for). So much versatility in food -- always consistently made. Great amount for the value and easy to trust the ingredients and recipes, knowing how much the owner cares about health and vegan based eating. I ordered and customized a halvsies bowl (half acai half pitaya), and the bowl was fully topped with slices of fresh, sweet fruit and filled with generous amounts of granola mixed throughout. I loved having the two different bases for the bowl, though I did think that the acai was a bit icier in texture whereas the pitaya was very smooth. Overall, I enjoyed the bowl here. I absolutely love this place. I have been hearing such great reviews about Cafe Nune since they opened, and I wish I didn't wait this long to try it out! They have a very interesting menu that includes delicious bowls, salads, and smoothies! When you first walk in you are always warmly greeted by the wonderful staff. The Cafe has a warm and cozy feel to it with cute decor. The first time that I went to Cafe Nune I was immediately told to let them know if I had any questions or wanted to try anything. Although their menu is not too crazy it was nice of them to offer to try something if I was unsure about it. For my first time I decided to try one of their Acai bowls! I got this with Acai, pineapple, mango, kiwi, coconut almond granola, and agave. I was so blown away by how fresh the ingredients were that I was already planning my next visit to Cafe Nune. It's great that places like Cafe Nune are expanding. It's important for communities to have healthy options when grabbing a bite. I had an açaí bowl with mango, pineapple, and blueberry. Topped it off with honey and the almond coconut granola. Although the bowl was tasty, the mango didn't taste ripe and overall I've had better açaí bowls from other locations. The decor is adorable but it is a little odd that the cafe itself is attached the burger place (you can literally walk right through). I found this place based on other reviews. It shared the space with a sandwich shop within the building. Parking is in the back on the shopping plaza. They have the corner storefront so its small with a few tables to enjoy your fruit. It wasn't a restaurant so it was fine. The staff was friendly taking my order and serving the bowl. I ordered two bowls one was Dragon Fruit with mango, pears and raspberry. The other bowl was with strawberry, pineapple, and mango. Both was delicious and devoured within minutes. First time here and I'll for sure be back. I really wanted a smoothie and avocado toast but a lot of places I know of don't have both. Lucky for me, Cafe Nune does. Even though I did want a smoothie I got a juice instead and I'm actually so happy I did because I would not be able to drink my smoothie after the huge portion of avo toast I had! I got the green machine juice and it's so delicious. I've recently been drinking celery juice so if you like that taste this is very similar with the celery taste but balanced out nicely with the sweeter flavors. I got avo toast with corn and tomatoes. I typically get nothing on my avo toast but decided to switch it up since this place offers that. I thought I'd get one slice of toast (that's what I'm accustomed to) but I actually got two! With the topping I was so full after the first slice. I really wish I took a picture but I was so hungry. The prices are honestly so good! Since it was my first time here and I'm not familiar with the area, I almost passed the place. It's in a building with a few other stores so I was trying to look for a sign and it's flat against the store front so very easily missed. I happened to see it when I was at the light. I made the right and entered the parking lot on the far side. The store is on the corner of the intersection. I walked in and the place was huge. I only went to pick up so I didn't get a good look but from what I saw it looks really clean inside. My order was ready on time and the staff was pleasant. Oh, and the food was very good! You wouldn't really know it's there unless you looked (I do think they should improve their signage). It's a shared establishment and there's a burger place on the other end of the store. I ordered an acai bowl with mangos, bananas, granola, and honey. It was so delicious and very filling. Their menu also features other customizable bowls, chia seed pudding, oatmeal, and a variety of freshly made juices. Yes, it is a little pricey but definitely comparable to other "fruit bowl" eateries. I'm really happy a place that serves healthy options opened nearby. Cafe Nune is the cutest spot in the area. The employees are so sweet and helpful when people come in to order. I am a self appointed açaí bowl connoisseur and this açaí bowl was up there with the best! You can tell the ingredients are fresh and healthy. I love that they make their own granola. Such a cute little cafe! The owners/workers were so nice and friendly, and you can watch them make your smoothie bowls so that you know you are getting the freshest ingredients. They are very eager to customize the bowl to your preferences. I got the acai bowl, and it was absolutely delicious. Smoothies are alright but customer service is pretty wack. I've been to Cafe Nune twice and both times were disappointing. There was a long wait (despite the large staff) and the workers are downright rude. I'm also new to the area and the first time I went to Cafe Nune was last fall. I asked if they had coffee (when you google "coffee shops near me", Cafe Nune pops up), and they looked at me like I was crazy and responded in a rude tone. I get that it might be a mistake, but I did not appreciate the attitude. Even though I didn't enjoy my experience, I still gave it another shot a few days ago when I wanted a smoothie and I was disappointed again. It was the same long wait, same poor customer service, and same attitude from the staff. Their mediocre (and overpriced) smoothies and bland avocado toasts are not worth the awful experience Update: Like i stated in my review, I've been to your shop prior to last week and received poor treatment then too. I looked up "coffee in Dunellen" and Cafe Nune was the first place that came up. Spoiler alert: they don't sell coffee. I don't get why you have CAFE in the name when there's no coffee in question... I walked in and politely asked if they sell coffee and the owner/manager gave me a whole monologue saying "No we don't, we have our own stash in the back for employees but we don't sell that to customers." I went to Cafe Nune today for the first time. The two ladies working behind the register were so kind and helpful; considering it was my first time getting a "Sweet" bowl. I noticed how clean it was and how they have a glass beverage dispenser that contains infused water (with Sliced Lemon's and Cucumbers). My first time trying at this place. I ordered half and half sweet bowl to try them both. I'm pretty sure I got the lemon berry granola instead of the coconut almond I ordered. Also I got the wrong berry than what I asked for. The taste of the açaí and pitaya itself were good and I'm glad the fruit was not frozen although the mango was very ripe. The price is really good compared what bowls can go for. I wanted to call in my order since I was in a rush but no one answered. When I got there there was enough people to have been able to take my phone order and the people working the front were making fun of the customers. The food is good but the process to prepare phone orders and in store orders in sequential order does not work well for customers who would like to sit down and eat in the store. I would expect customers who come into the store should not have to wait for 2,4 or 8 orders called in before he or she is served their in store order. read more
