This place is always such a great casual eats spot. My only thing with it is that they use fattty pieces of chicken sometimes, which most places do! I just got a bit unlucky this time by ordering the pollo pastor because the chicken was a little overdone too so I got burnt pieces along with the fatty :/ but go with the shredded chicken!! It's a much better option. I loveeee the drink options so much and their little salsa bar area which is self serve. The food here is solid and definitely worth a try. I have no idea how authentic it is, as I have the impression that most people who talk about authentic Mexican food just has a favorite spot in Cali and uses that as their basis for authentic Mexican food, but the food here is tasty regardless. The Mexican street corn is good, the tacos are great, and the burrito is okay. The horchata is fantastic! Only thing that's not perfect for me is their burrito. Maybe it's too authentic for me, but it's just a lot of rice, like a ton of rice, with a tiny bit of beans and protein, and a dab of sour cream and sauce of your choice. It could definitely use more meat, although to be fair the quality was excellent, and I wouldn't mind some more veggies in there, even if it's like just lettuce and corn. Stopped in here with Wifey and my son and had an absolutely delicious lunch. It's a little odd ordering here, but you order up front like it's a fast food place (it's not) and they bring your food back to you. The front area is pretty tight but the back seating area is really open and bright. The BEST fast-casual Mexican spot, by far. Imagine Chipotle but with way better ingredients, bigger portions, and better flavors. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I usually go with a burrito box and add golden avocado with a side of street corn. They have really nice staff, one time they forgot to add guac on my friend's order and gave her a side of guac and chips to make up for it. They also sell bottled water in store and this sounds crazy but it's really good water. I think there's electrolytes in it and it comes in a fancy metal bottle. Had a hankering for some tacos so decided to stop at Tacroia for some lunch! The service was quick. I was in and out within 30 minutes during the lunch rush. The decor at all the Tacoria's are so stunning. Here there were plants hanging everywhere and I am here for it. They also have some light up letters hanging on the ceiling but did not get the chance to see what it spelled out. I got three different tacos with the chorizo one being my favorite then the pastor. The steak was meh to me. The habanero salsa or any one of their homemade salsa is a must on use of any one of your dishes. I came here for a quick lunch bite. It was my first time at this location, and it's pretty spacious. I ordered the al pastor burrito, Mexican street corn, and a bottle of water. Tacoria has hands down, the best tacos I have ever tried so far. Every time I come here I get the pollo asado tacos with chipotle aioli and everything on it. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy. The taco has a number of ingredients that are all fresh, tasty, and offer a good variety of textures. I like being able to add on the chipotle aioli to make the tacos a little spicy. The pollo asado salad is also delicious, fresh, and has a good portion size. The chips are a must at Tacoria. They're salty with a slight lime flavor and pair great with the various salsas the restaurant has out. My personal favorite salsa is the smokey roja - it's the perfect amount of spicy for my liking. On top of the amazing food, the employees here are also great and provide quick service. They're helpful during the ordering process if you've never been here before since you order via a screen. I never have to wait too long for my food either. On the inside of Tacoria, it's decorated well to match the Mexico theme and it makes for a cool dining experience. So I have come to the stock area now several times and I think my opinion of this place has improved overall, and it may now be my more favorite taqueria to visit. One of the big perks of this taqueria over the original New Brunswick location, which was my go-to for the longest time is parking. You are able to get parking here which makes ordering from here and picking up or coming in and sitting down way easier than the New Brunswick location. This location also has additional seating which is also very nice. The staff here is is super friendly and get your order together fairly quickly. The last two times I've ordered it has been a relatively short wait, I did not time them but I'm an impatient person and I was very satisfied with the amount of time it took to get my order. Which was enough food for two people with sides and dessert to put into perspective. A total of approximate five to six items each time. I really like the atmosphere in here as well. It's pretty hip. I feel like if I came here by myself I could bring my laptop and do some work while having a meal and it wouldn't be too bad. My go-to items here are still the El pastor tacos which are my favorite. The only thing I would say is ask for the extra tortilla shell because I hate when they fall apart when I eat them. All in all can't go wrong. Going to taqueria and the Piscataway location. I had the steak quesadilla and I have to say I was very disappointed, there was barely any steak in my quesadilla and it was $15/$16 dollars. The portion was very small too. It wasn't filling at all. I used to eat Tacoria a lot when I was in college since I used to live near their Hoboken location. Now that I've moved, the Piscataway location is so much easier to get to. I love this location in specific because it's not too crowded and there's always a lot of parking in this complex. Tacoria is consistently good in my opinion, I'm a golden avocado burrito box regular. My family is vegan, so they get the golden avocado burrito box but vegan. This time I went, I also got some chips and guac with pico and I gave it to my parents to hold onto so I could grab my food. Within the 5 minutes, they called me asking me if I could buy more chips! I love the chips at Tacoria as well, they never taste stale and are rarely too salty. If you're ever in Central Jersey, I'd recommend coming to the Piscataway Tacoria over the New Brunswick one. The guacamole is very creamy and flavorful, the meats for the salads were delicious, but what really takes the spotlight for me were the sauces. They are all made fresh in store and boy are they good. I tried all 4, and found myself rotating them on my food, I just couldn't pick a favorite. They also have a really good horchata and also other freshly made drinks (lemonade and a guava drink were the options available at the time). The Nutella nachos - wow. They tasted like eating a churro but with a crunchy texture. That extra drizzle of Nutella and powdered sugar was just that little extra oomph it needed to elevate the flavor. The restaurant at this location seems clean as we walked in. Staff: The one girl in the pink shirt was extremely friendly and told us how to order on the machine if we were paying by card. The girl that was wearing a black shirt that day was rude. The girl in black called out my friends name twice and then he answered her and she said whatever. She needs to go back to training on her customer service skills. Fountain Soda: The soda from their fountain soda machine tasted watered down and just did not taste like any soda at all. Carne Asada Burrito: The portion is too small for the price that my friend paid for $11.25. The cheese tasted weird and it just was not worth the money. 3 Tacos: I got 3 tacos and the portion was so small for $13.25. These were definitely not worth the money and the cheese was like a powder. The steak was dry and was tasteless. The chicken tasted good but there was not enough sauce on it. These tacos look as if they were being cheap with their items. Overall: The food was not that great here as the portions looked as if they were being cheap. The price we paid was not worth the money and to be treated rudely. The customer service was horrible at this location and we will not return here. read more
