Ventured to Brooklyn for dinner with a party of 4 on a Saturday night at 6 pm. Our friends come for brunch here frequently and it was their first time eating in for dinner! Plenty of seats available at 6 pm but it quickly filled up. Outdoor seating has heaters and beautiful floral decorations. They only seat you once your whole party has arrived and they are very efficient. We were seated immediately once our party was complete and orders were taken very quickly. They gave us a carafe of water and everything was pretty self-sufficient from there. Besides giving us our food, we were pretty much unbothered the rest of the meal but if we needed them, our waitstaff came very quickly. No frills waitstaff which I prefer, honestly, and the food was seasoned very well, lots of bursting flavor and loved the tableside presentation of the lamb shawarma. We ordered: 3 Mezzes ($29) - Goat Cheese Crostini, Falafel, Hummus Vegan Shawarma ($19) - delicious! Lamb Shawarma ($28) - peppers are quite spicy but rice is super delicious with the lamb, would definitely order again Chicken Shawarma ($24) - so much food atop the pita, I ate half of it before I could wrap it up. Would've loved to have some hummus or more tahini yogurt drizzled on it. Meat was super tender and delicious but not super eatable with your hands. Can't wait to return and excited to try the duck and their extensive brunch menu!! Cute neighborhood that's closed off to cars on the weekends~ read more

On a Saturday morning at 11am, this was the place to be in Park Slope. My friends and I were able to secure a seat next to the window pretty quickly which was great! As we were leaving around 12pm, there was a line to get in. The decor and the vibes are right. They play the top 40 hits, but I'd rather something a bit more chill. Everything on the menu looked delicious! Service was great! No overbearing waiters or anyone forcing us to get up. The green shaksurka was really something. It came hot and full of flavor. I had never had Mediterranean food for breakfast before and this was really great. The two eggs cooked to perfection and the balance of spices was perfect. Both of them ordered at the table came with a side of Lebneh cheese which wasn't on the menu so that was a great bonus. The pita was fresh. My other friend ordered the herbed eggs. Since she couldn't have pita, they substituted with some cucumbers since I don't believe they have potatoes. She enjoyed her meal too. Overall great but I think the price for some of the meals is pretty steep. Everything is $18 but in comparing meals, some should be less. read more

This place is SO good~ Great service, and the food is the best. Always a go-to when I'm in NY visiting. :) read more

Family owned and great Israeli food! Strongly recommend, tasty food, great service and great people!

This has been my go-to restaurant for years. We always bring out of towners here as it's one of our favorite places to eat in Brooklyn, and that's saying a lot! Greta for special occasions too. read more

I've been to Miriam a number of times -- it's a rare good restaurant in the sea of mid tier locations that is North Slope. Their pancakes, shakshouka(both red & green), and various poached egg dishes are great. Their hummus, falafel, and schnitzel are very good too. Their lamb schwarma was slightly dry, their scrambled eggs very overdone, but everything else was good. Do wish they'd give more than one pita for an entire hummus order. Their cocktails are good as well - last visit we had the khalua mocha coffee and the Lil Cuke. The ambiance is minimal but plenty of nice plants indoors and reliable outdoor seating. The service is efficient but not noteworthy. Overall, would recommend as one of the only truly good options in North Slope. read more

Great brunch spot and I will have to return for dinner. This was my second time coming to Miriam and I wish I had written the review immediately after my first experience because now I can't remember what I got, but I remember thinking it was incredible. The menu here has a wide variety of delicious options to where it's almost hard to make a choice. The service is consistently great, and I was very impressed by the set up they have for coronavirus precautions. They have outdoor booths separated by plexi glass or plastic so that respiratory droplets from different groups can't cross. They also have heaters for outdoor dining in the cold. Today I got the green shakshuka and it was good but I think it could have been a little more flavorful. However it was delicious when eaten on top of the pita bread - great combo! I also got a very tasty raspberry mint lemonade. I hope I can remember what I got the first time and get it again. I'm also really excited to try other dishes because again, the whole menu looks great. read more

Someone convinced me that this was the hip new spot in the neighborhood. With a wait in front, it's gotta be good, right? Got the salmon benedict and it was... regular degular. Went with a bloody mary for a brunch drink and it is NOT it. i should've gotten the shashuka. Maybe next time. I'm also not a fan of lamb and my bf gave me a piece forgetting that it was lamb. Shortly after, everything tasted like lamb and I'm not about that life. I'm gonna give this place another try, but truth be told, this was not a good first experience. DO NOT oder the bloody mary. it is BAD. it tasted like fermented beer. beet that has gone bad and that they added tomato juice to it. JUST NO. read more

Went with a large group of people, and everything was perfect. One of the best French Toasts I've had in the city. Will go back soon.

Swung by for a girls night and we made a last minute reservation (day of) around 7PM Friday - it wasn't too crowded and service was great overall. We ordered drinks, did the 3 for $30 mezze deal (hummus, Brussels sprouts, falafel), and the chicken shawarma. The hummus was creamy, the sprouts were tangy and the falafel was cooked just right (not too fried, the picked radish was a nice touch). The shawarma was very flavorful and super seasoned - we actually couldn't finish the whole thing but the cooked spinach and juicy tomatoes pierced the seasoning pretty well. The veggies definitely made the pita on the bottom a bit soggy though, maybe it would have been better on the side? All in all, we enjoyed our meal and were decently stuffed. I'd come again for brunch! read more

I rarely ever leave negative reviews - but my god, this place is awful and so incredibly inauthentic. if you want a cheap knockoff of arab food with an ironically overpriced menu, look no further. if you want genuine middle eastern food at a reasonable price...stay far, far away. read more

Awesome food! There is usually a little bit of a wait but the food was well worth it! Will be back!

One of my fav brunch places! Explored the one I Brooklyn and it is much cuter than the one in NYC. Don't miss sitting outside and enjoy the pretty outdoor decor. We ordered both types of shakshuka - the green one looked great but lacked the flavors we expected, the red one lacked all sorts of flavors! I was in denial that an Israeli place went wrong with that dish. They had the tomato game on point but just that it lacked any flavor. It was like eating raw tomato and eggs! The Jerusalem bagel, flatbread and their special bread with dipping sauces were great! We got to try their labne and hummus too as it came as sides with the Shakshuka. read more

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. We were a party of 4 seated immediately. We shared the Dipping Plate (comes with the house flatbread), and I had the fried brussel sprouts and the fried halloumi cheese & artichoke heart salad (vegetarian). The salad had the perfect amount of dressing and I'm not usually a fan of raw mushrooms but these were alright. The fried brussel sprouts were amazing (make sure you mix it up cause there's some yummy honey vinegar that collects at the bottom). The house flatbread was delicious with the za'atar seasoning and most of the dips (tahini and tzatziki) were delicious too. The butternut squash dip didn't have much flavor but the tatbelah (green dip) was a kick of garlicky-tangy flavor to the mouth...maybe a bit too much. The timing of the dishes was weird. They take a while to prepare the food so be patient. The waiter told us he'd bring the dipping plate out first but we ended getting the main dishes for 3 of our party first. Unfortunate because the 4th person without food was my partner and he felt it was totally justified to mooch off my plates. Then we got the dipping plate and I was able to distract him with that. But then he was back to stealing my food until finally his dish came (and not a moment too soon!). Heard this place is bopping for brunch so I'll be trying that next! COVID times assessment: Menu by QR code, hand sanitizer at your table, and plenty of space between tables. Even though we were seated at the sidewalk, the outdoor seating is on a side street (not on the much busier 5th ave) so it feels roomy. They had a live band playing on the sidewalk too (at least when we went on Thursday)! read more

Have been wanting to come here for a long time. Very good menu with lots of interesting and a variety of dishes! I tried the Green shakshuka which I had never had before, it was good but the Red shakshuka I have liked more. That is more a personal thing not a statement against the restaurant. Pita didn't seem the freshest. Like either it needs to be fresh or grilled nicely. Service was friendly and attentive! Brunch is served till 4:00pm daily which is really nice! Lots of outdoor seating , but inside looked very nice as well. Parking was easy on the street. Would return. read more

Um YUM! Came here on a Sunday around noon and got seated within a few minutes on the patio. It was pretty bustling with lots of cute dogs in the patio area- seems a family /dog friendly neighborhood brunch spot. I love shakshuka and this one did not disappoint. Burst of flavor that says breakfast but also filling, sweet, and savory. Loved that it came with hummus and the portions were really generous. My date got the french toast... and challah french toast is next level. Coffee and potatoes were just ok. Service was friendly yet a little slow, but we didn't mind. We ended up chatting with the couple next to us about park slope neighborhood things which was really nice. read more

Great brunch spot with a wide variety. I'm more of a savory breakfast type of person but a few of my friends enjoy a sweeter dish so this spot was great because there was a great selection of both. I got the shakshuka and bagel with a side of avocado. Was it the best shakshuka I've ever had? No but the flavor was definitely there. My friend and I came here on a Thursday after work, around 6pm. We did not have a reservation, but was about to get seated right away. The place did not seem so crowded when I first got there, but once we sat down, it seems like the place started to fill up very very quickly. My friend ordered a a sparkling raspberry lemonade, and I ordered a hazelnut hot chocolate- we were both very happy with our beverages. I'm definitely ordering a hazelnut hot chocolate again when it starts to get cold. For starters, we shared a hummus, it came with a pita. We were both so impressed at how good their hummus taste! We love it! My friend usually is not a big fan of hummus but she gobbled up Miriam's hummus! Not gonna lie, we were both wondering about the portion sizes, since the food here is a bit on the pricier side for us, but when our food came we thought it was so worth it. The portion size + how good the food taste, makes it worth every penny. I ordered the chicken shawarma, which I finished, because it's almost a crime for me to not finish my food, but boy was I stuffed. My friend ordered the Lamb Shawarma Terracotta, which she didn't even finish. This place definitely made a lasting impression in my books read more

I've walked by this place for YEARS and always been amazed at the consistent line for brunch, so I knew I had to try it. Finally did back in December and I get the hype! We sat in one of the outdoor booths with a heater. It was a 20 degree day and we were plenty warm to enjoy our dinner. Came here for brunch and it did not disappoint at all! Their outdoor seating is the cutest thing ever. There was flowers on the top and wrapping around the sides, so cute! The outdoor seating also had individual heaters that you can adjust the temperature so we weren't cold at all. This place was so busy on the weekends but my group of 5 were seated within minutes! We ordered: Burekas ($18) Eggs Benedict ($18) Norwegian Eggs ($18) Herbed Eggs ($18) Lamb Shawarma ($22) Falafel ($9) Everything was so delicious! I felt the salmon in nowegian eggs were salty too salty for my liking. But the zucchini cake was good and the eggs were perfect! It came with potatoes so the meal was very filling. The falafel was super crispy and the green sauce it came with is a godsend! All my friends were also in love with that green sauce that they dipped everything else in it! The servers never checked up on us after they seated us but whatever. They also slightly messed up my friends order but they got that fixed quickly which is a plus! read more

Great food with limited but very authentic dishes. The right place for egg lovers. I was in a mood of kabobs, so order chicken sheekh kabobs, which was delicious and very nicely marinated with the Mediterranean spices. We also enjoyed green sauce and mango chatni sauce with hummus. Chicken kabobs served on the flatbread with the layer if spinach (could be more cooked or softer) and yogurt sauce. We asked for some hot sauce which was yummy and fresh. Another dish was served with an excellent presentation in a round bowl called Sabeh platter was good too, and basically, it's a vegetable dish. The service was excellent, and we loved the outdoor seating. Price was a bit high but still worth trying, and we will recommend this place with family and friends. read more

Why haven't I dined in here in the past ? Am I ok ? Seriously, Miriam's outdoor seating is so cute with fake rose decor wrapped around the roof. We ordered the burekas, herb eggs, falafel, lamb shawarma, and Norwegian eggs. The burekas was super light and fluffy - like a croissant. At first, I thought the cheese would be too heavy but it was actually very light. I dipped it with the burekas and layered scrambled egg on top. It's the perfect combo you guys!!! The falafel was surprisingly very light. Usually I feel like it's a bit heavy but the green sauce helped lighten up the taste. However, I think the service was quite mediocre. The servers never checked up on us until we got the bill. I understand it's a busy weekend but was expecting to be checked up on at least once. I used to be a faithful customer of this restaurant until October 16th when I noticed that each item that I ordered that day was $2 more than the same order a few days prior. I immediately called to complain and was told by the onsite manager to email them so I did. My first email said this and included photos and videos of the food: "Hello, I just got off my he phone with the gentleman who is in charge this morning but not the manager and I voiced this complaint to him and he suggested that I email you all. Basically my roommates Michelle and I have been ordering from you guys about once a week for a good year or so via Uber Eats. This morning's order each item is $2 more. I left a note for each item noting that unless there were bigger portion sizes when my order is delivered in a bit - more bacon for the extra $2, bigger homemade granola for the extra $2, and more pieces of French toast in order for the extra $2. I understand your supply chain may have gone up or whatever but in every area of life whether it's rent, utilities going up, gas going up, interests rates, grocery bills, and now you guys - the cost is always shifting to us when our salaries aren't going up to keep up with inflation. Ordering from you guys this morning was my last straw so I had to call and voice my concerns. This just really annoyed me when k placed the order today because consumers cannot catch a break no matter where we turn. I love you guys food but if this price hike remains especially with the same portion sizes, I'll be forced to no longer patronize your place and that's a shame. Just food for thought.... pun intended. Your neighbors and customers, Tiffini and Michelle" The response that I received days later was this: "Dear Tiffini, We wanted to first start off by saying thank you so much for being a loyal customer of Miriam BK! We are so excited to know that you love the food so much to come back weekly! I wanted to take the time to address your concerns stated in your above emails about increase in food pricing. Miriam BK has been around for 18 years and has always strived to keep our prices competitive and inviting for the neighborhood that we are based in, that being said that for past two years we have maintained level pricing even while everyone around us was raising pricing. Unfortunately, with the increase in food cost as well as labor and other expenses to our restaurant, we have found it necessary to increase our prices to reflect the bottom line we are occurring. We do hope you understand the need to keep cost in line with expenses in order to remain open for all of Park Slope. We do hope to have you dine with us in the near future! Going forward please expect the portion size you received today, as that is our typical size. Thank you very much for providing your feedback as we best try to provide the best experience and food! " Then two months later i broke down and ordered again (Dec 17th) and this is where my next biggest complaint comes in. I was told that the price increase would remain but and I quote, "Going forward please expect the portion size you received today, as that is our typical size. Thank you very much for providing your feedback as we best try to provide the best experience and food!" but my order on December 17th portion sizes on each item i order was now SMALLER than the original portion. So now I'm paying $2 more for each item and getting LESS FOOD! How is this fair??? If you're going to charge more at least serve the same portion sizes and be nicer to your loyal customers when they do issue a complaint instead of ignoring them. This has been bugging since October and since my last complaint in December so I felt compelled to write an official public complaint/review. read more
