They took advantage of my elderly father. They took his credit card charged him $2,000 for a clogged tub. I called to get a receipt emailed it was only an estimate with work on it that they did not do. It stated open dry wall access, P-Trap, parts and labor. Well another plumber came out yesterday and saw none of this work was done and took pictures. So they left the piping for the tub unconnected which I have a picture of posted below. Why would they do this? I'm assuming so it would flood and he would have to have them back to rip him off some more. Elder abuse, dishonesty charging for work that wasn't done and leaving the pipes unconnected. I am very sad that there are humans that would run a business this way and take advantage of our elders. So completely disgusting it makes me sick, low life scums. State contractors board has been notified - BBB is next and so on. Give the $2,000 back!! I was calling around trying to find a plumber to come out to a job site to inspect a pipe with a camera. Most of the quotes I got were between $150-$299, but when I called Miracle Rooter Plumbing the woman on the phone told me the inspection was free. With that information, I immediately scheduled an appointment for the same day. Since I'm not on the job site all day, she told me she would call me 30 minutes before the plumber would arrive so I could drive over from my office. I never got a call. Instead, I got a text from the homeowner at the job site that the plumber was there. Once I got to the site, the plumber told me "I don't know if you were told the pricing over the phone, but it's $400." Uhh, that's not what I was told at all. If I had known it was $400 I would never have scheduled an appointment in the first place. I told him that the representative on the phone told me it was free. He then said that the $400 could be deducted from any further work Miracle Rooter would do on the project. Nope. Not interested in paying $400 when I can have another company come out for less than half the price. Super dishonest and shady business practices going on here. read more

If there was a way to give a zero rating I would have done so. First, when its representative (named Peter) came in June to solve an issue with flushing with the tub and sink, he indicated it was a root problem. Then, I asked him to do a camera inspection to make sure and asked for a copy of that video. Peter claimed that he didn't keep copies. When he said that, I should have known better than to trust him! It throws the entire job this company did in June under strong suspicion. The "root" problem probably didn't exist after all! I don't even know if anything he told me was even true! Every other plumber I've ever used was able to give me a copy of the camera inspection. Why couldn't he do the same? Probably because the problem never existed. Honestly, I should have also checked with Yelp and other people that have used this company. A lot of customers were deceived and ripped off! One Yelp reviewer was showed someone else's plumbing on the video to trick them, unbelievable! According to my my law school training, that's a criminal offense. And I was stupid enough to pay $6,300! Second, I called this same company last week to figure out why the toilet was overflowing because this company supposedly guarantees all the work. Peter again came and stated that even though the plumbing under the toilet was done by some other company, that he would do it for "free." He even sent one of the men to inspect under the house and do the so-called "free" work. Today, Peter called me to say that the "free" work the company provided would cost me around $1,500. So, all the "guaranteed work" and the work being "free" was a lie! Third, I also found out that the "root" problem in June is probably non-existent. The same worker that came to fix the problem told me that the sink and tub are connected at least 15 feet away and has nothing to do with the toilet! So, I was fooled almost twice! Was so excited to use this company because they're right down the block from me. Made an appointment the day before for 8 a.m. two check out a leak at my house. Got a phone call at 8:20 saying they weren't able to come over until 11 the earliest because the equipment they needed was unavailable at the time. I was already going to be late to work with the 8 a.m. appointment. I ended up finding another plumber on Angie's List immediately who came to the house and checked for the leak. Oddly the only equipment he needed were his eyes and his brain. And he was fantastic . So disappointed that this local company is not a company I would ever attempt to use again. read more

From all the reviews, I thought this would be a great plumber to try for our sewer back up issue. They had a coupon for $67 to do drain cleaning that seemed like a great deal as well. Getting someone out was pretty quick (a couple of hours) however, when they got here, they were unable to clear out the clog and a supervisor came with some thing that supposedly could see where the clog was. They quoted us to replace the sewer pipe. Uh, kind of fast to jump to that conclusion so we paid them their money and sent them away. Then we called a bunch of other plumbers and luckily our regular guy was in town and cleared the block within 5 minutes of arriving. I was really upset that they tried to just up sell me to doing a $3000 - $4000 job from a $67 call. I don't like being taken advantage like that. Stars are for getting to us on time. read more

I'm in the process of selling my home and on the day of my open house the tub had crud in it. When I exhausted all the possibilities, it turned out to be a collapsed sewer line. After some research, I called Miracle Rooter and, Franko, came out to access the problem. Sure enough, I had a big problem on my hands and I didn't want it to interfere with showing and selling my home. I have never had an experience this good with any company, let alone any plumber. Anthony came within an hour of my call to help get a bottle out of the pipes that was accidentally flushed down the toilet. We were informed that large objects stuck in the toilet often require replacement of the toilet. He said he could give it a try with the auger and see if he could push the bottle through without breaking anything. Within 5 minutes the pipe was clear, and Anthony told us NO CHARGE! I can't believe someone would drive all the way to my place and solve a problem for me for nothing. This guy Anthony is an ace and Miracle Rooter is lucky to have him. Miracle Rooter responded to my request through Angi to fix a leak in the main freshwater line into the property. Their representative met me but said he could not do anything until the water was shut off at the street. He did not have a key for the shutoff but tried one I supplied but was unable to shut it off. He came back the next day after the water was off. I had excavated the site and identified the leak on an easy access patio. The copper cap on a ¾ inch riser had developed a leak. All that was needed was to remove the cap and replace it with a new one ($1.63 at Home Depot). He insisted that the leak had to be on the main line, but I showed him pictures of the leak. Then he said he did not have the part on his truck and refused to check, saying that they usually only do sewer lines although I was clear about the job to both him on the phone prior to arrival and on the posting with Angi. Since the main line was down, I asked him to pick up two hose bibs to replace two that were very old and on the main line. He returned an hour later with the cap and no bibs because he said he got confused and could not remember if they were male or female. We had looked at each one prior to his leaving and my phone was on. Then he said that he didn't know if his repair would hold and he needed to come back the next day. I knew that meant another charge and refused. When I called in to pay, the receptionists wanted the credit card number but said she did not know how much the charge was. I refused and she suddenly found the amount. The bill was $250 for less than 30 minutes of labor. My theory is that the hour to "find" the part was what was needed to pay the $120 (reported by another plumber called for this job) referral fee (Angie calls this an advertising fee) to Angie and the rest was inflated labor. If you are going to do business with these people you better be knowledgeable and sober. At every point there was a clear effort to inflate the job. read more

About a month ago I got a referral to this company through Home Advisor to repair a gas line on my rental property. We set up a 2 hour appointment window for which I had to set aside time for, and half way through the window period, I received a call that they were canceling my appointment because of scheduling conflicts. After delaying the job for a few weeks, and getting a couple of other estimates, I tried Miracle rooter again just to see if I can get 1 final estimate. The exact same thing happened AGAIN, with the woman on the phone giving me the same canned soulless explanation of how "unfortunately...blah blah...." they weren't going to make it out because of scheduling conflicts. I cannot recommend this plumber more. By far the best contractor I've ever worked with. I had a slab leak in a new house, which is basically the worst possible scenario. Add in a 2 yr old and a 9 month pregnant wife. Basically i was staring at a complete disaster. Two other plumbing companies indicated it would take roughly 3 weeks to pull out the old concrete, dirt and pipes and to replace with ABS. As soon as I met the guys from Miracle Rooter,m and saw their advanced equipment, i felt much better. Eric, Whitney and Geraldo worked TIRELESSLY for 6 days and replaced the entire plumbing downstairs. Clean, professional, and couldn't have been faster. Even more importantly, we COMPLETELY trusted all the employees in our house while we were gone or at work. Super honest guys, diligent, hardworking and fixed everything perfectly. They even documented everything completely for my insurance claim. This company turned a nightmare in my life into no problem, in less than a third of the time and at nearly half the cost of the prior estimates. I would very highly recommend this company to anyone. My opinion, STAY AWAY! I had a backed up toilet at an apartment building. They came out late on a Saturday night. They told me they removed the toilet and snaked it but they could not get the blockage out. They told me that I had to have a piece of pipe removed to fix the blockage. The next day i had my regular plumber out and they said the toilet was never removed because the caulking around the base of the toilet and the wax ring were never disturbed. My regular plumber pulled the toilet and snaked it in no time. These guys then have the nerve to send me a bill for over $400. The manager i spoke to claimed they don't always replace the wax ring and that they took the toilet off. NO THANK YOU. read more

My toilet wasn't flushing correctly. It took several flushes to clear and I finally had to dump a bucket of water into it to make it flush completely. I haven't used a Yellow Pages book for a while so I tried Miracle Rooter. Their ad looked appealing. Their plumber seemed nice enough. I asked him if maybe the roof vent needed to be cleared. He said that I needed a new toilet and that he could replace mine for $400. I thanked him and said that I would think about it. Later, a neighbor looked at it and said that the (underwater) water jet just needed to be cleared. He cleared it with a coat hanger in 2 minutes. He said that "Some plumbers will try to sell you a new toilet when they know perfectly well that this is all that's wrong." read more

It's 1:30am, and there's beeping, water damaged wood floors, and a freaking water fall under the house - who you gonna call? Miracle Rooter, turns out. Pipes are sneaky bastards. Case in point - how they always manage to burst or break at the EXACT worst moment possible. Like, for example, when both you and the tenant in the other unit of your duplex are each away for over a week for the holidays, and your landlord is MIA when you get back to find what looks and sounds like a miniature water park going on under your house. So when I walked into my apartment the other night upon returning home from a ten day trip, I first got suspicious when I heard a persistant loud beeping sound emanating from the house (I guess angry water heaters do that), I proceeded to walk into the apartment and notice both the smell of lots of really wet stuff, and the ominous sound of huge amounts of water gushing where no water has gushed before. The woman who answered the phone in the middle of the night (Jasmin), was very nice and sympathetic, and she sent out a technician right away to our rescue. Adam showed up about half an hour later and saved the day. or uh... night, I guess. He was super nice, very friendly, and professional (and cute too!). Adam took care of the emergency situation for us, and came back a couple of days later to complete the whole repair for the problem that had caused the situation in the first place. I highly recommend this company, whether it's a middle of the night emergency, or a planned appointment. They are very efficient and nice, called to ask for clarifications before the job, and again to follow up on their work after it was done. I am not 100% sure I should be writing this review since I haven't been a customer of Miracle Rooter in a few years, but they did replace my main line back in late 2011 and I never gave them a review so here I am. I agreed to let Miracle Rooter replace my main sewer line which had been plagued with root issues for what I consider to be a very reasonable price based upon the other bids I had received. The man who did the work was named Adolpho and I remember that he was there till about 8PM on Christmas Eve 2011 getting the work done even though I had suggested he go home and come back the day after Christmas, but he didn't want to leave the work unfinished and a customer unsatisfied. The courtesy and dedication he showed during that job was something I should have remembered, but unfortunately in May of 2018 I let another "plumbing" company (Wise Choice out of Glendora which is just a bunch of conmen with some plumbing skills) partially turn me against Miracle. I invited WC to come out and unplug a toilet at my rental in Monrovia based upon the almost 5 star reviews I saw here on Yelp (most of those reviews are fake so please don't use that company). The criminal charlatan workers at WC quickly upped the price to $255 to remove the toilet, then $900 to replace a section of pipe in the yard, and then $2,000 to replace more pipe (which they didn't end up doing). During this scam phase which I must say I fell for as I wasn't there and was relying upon the integrity of the WC plumbers to relay accurate information to me, I was told by WC that my main line was done poorly and that they could redo it for me for the bargain price of $8500. Since I really didn't have any reason to disbelieve them at the time, I took them for their word. They got me to believe that Miracle had done a poor job so I called Miracle to have them take a look. They came out and inspected the line free of charge and didn't see a problem. I don't live in the Monrovia area, so it wasn't easy for me to get out there to meet anyone during the middle of the day, but Miracle Rooter came out in force when I was able to be out there. They brought three guys who patiently explained to me the lies that WC was telling me, and they helped me avoid being possibly scammed for yet another $5,500 that WC wanted for a claim that I had a bunch of raw sewage under my house due to a broken pipe which was a complete fabrication. I am sorry if this is a review bashing WC more than praising Miracle Rooter, but I am still very angry at my naiveté and WC's lack of humanity. The guys at Miracle were happy to go under the house, do a free inspection, and wouldn't take any money from me. I did see them get rather heated though when the WC "plumbers" impugned the work of Miracle and they were also very upset that WC was tarnishing the reputation of all plumbers by their business practices. I still guilty that I believed WC rather than sticking with the good guys at Miracle, but like Darth Vader I eventually found the light side again after being manipulated by the dark side of "plumbers". I can't recommend Miracle Rooter enough because they struck me as more than good plumbers, they are also good people too with impeccable ethics in a business that most of us are ignorant about which can lead to scammers looking to screw people over. I am exceptionally fortunate in that I own a couple of homes, and I am even more blessed that those homes are within the geographic areas that Miracle Rooter services. I will only call them in the future, and I hope you do too as I think you will be happy with their service and that they back up their work. If you choose to go somewhere else please consider that you aren't just buying the work of the person. So the value is in the quality of work, professionalism and guarantee for long term care. Unfortunately, we had a major sewer failure which needed immediate professional care. The phone book had hundreds to pick from. We immediately called the largest who started a sales pitch of treatments which he deemed necessary. After making a false claim to increase the billing I asked him to leave. He was not dressed well or smell good. I then called Miracle Rooter who's uniformed technician properly diagnosed the problem... made a fair job quote then performed the work with a more than satisfactory outcome. Arthur from Miracle Rooter just came and saved the day...on a Saturday too! We had a horribly backed up bathroom sink that was floating with debris and would not drain at all. Last night we had tried Drano, plunging and every home remedy in fear of what a plumber would cost us. We only made the problem worse and worse so we broke down with no choice but to call a plumber. Arthur came out right away, checked out the problem and gave us the cheapest possible option to fix it. We gladly took the 88 dollar option and he finished in about 20 minutes. 6/6/19 we contacted Miracle Rooter due to a blockage. We were told over the telephone when we set up the service call we had to pay a $69 after hours service charge, but all other charges would be the same as during regular business hours. Daniel snaked the main line. He indicated he thought the problem may have arisen due to roots from the tree on our tree belt, but his camera did not work, so he was unable to confirm. He indicated the fee was $170 for the snaking because it was after hours plus an additional after hours service fee of $69. We told him this was inconsistent with the information we received initially and that the website said the fee was $76 for the snaking. He then indicated he would honor that price. 10 days later our whole system backed up again. We contacted Miracle Rooter. The rep indicated we would again have to pay for the snaking service. We told her that we were unwilling to pay for it since we just paid it and if the job was done adequately it should not have occurred so soon. The manager then said we did not need to pay for the snaking, but we needed to pay for the after hours service call. We refused to do that because again, this issue should not have arisen so soon. The manager agreed to send out a technician, but stated another rep would need to come out 6/17 to determine the cause of the repeated problems. Anthony came out and once again snaked the system. On 6/17, Peter, a supervisor, arrived. He used a device, which determined that the system was blocked within a few feet of the trunk of an enormous tree on our tree belt. We agreed to have them replace the pipe from the sidewalk to the curb. We agreed upon a price of $4000. Peter then mentioned that there was an additional cost for the permit. After Miracle Rooter exposed the pipe, it became evident that the pipe needed to be replaced from the curb onto the street as well. We renegotiated the contract with Peter to the cost of approx. $14000, including the original $4000 price. We were told by Miracle Rooter reps various deadlines as the project progressed, which were not met. The installers had not attended initially to the fact that the rim on the city's line protruded in a way that would not configure to the installers' pipe. They finally were able to hook the new pipe up as of 6/21, but the hole in the street could not be closed up until the inspection. The inspection occurred 6/24 and the first layer of the hole was filled. Although we were told it only took 24 hours for this layer to dry, the final layer of asphalt was not laid until 48 hours later. At that time, the steel panel that had been covering the hole was left askew along our curb. On 6/24 after the initial layer was placed over the hole, Anthony knocked on our door. We promptly paid him the balance of the amount due (approx. $13,600). He told us that a receipt would be emailed to us. We discussed with him clean up of the job. He assured us that the place would look "like they were never there." He indicated he would return 6/25 to clean up. He showed us pebbles that he had intended to use to replace those that were covering the area in the tree belt that had been dug up. They were not a match. We told him the company where the pebbles had been purchased and he indicated that they would be purchased and placed in the area on 6/25. We reviewed with him the grassy area on the lawn that had a large divot in it. He assured us that he would bring soil and smooth out the area the next day. As of 2 PM 6/25 no one from Miracle Rooter had arrived at the house. Since that time, we have made several attempts to get Miracle Rooter out to finish the clean up (there are still orange cones left on our property, the divot was not filled in, the rock area needs additional rocks and to be smoothed). Additionally, they have not sent us a final receipt or a video of the job, both of which we need to get over $5000 in rebates back from our city! They did not respond to the initial contact by the licensing board (we filed a complaint). We left a message for the owner. He left us a message at 9:30 PM. His voicemail is full, so we cannot leave him a response message. read more

I had our main water shut off valve broken by a technician from fast water heater while he was about to install our water heater. It was on a Saturday and getting a plumber in the weekend is very expensive. I called Miracle Rooter Plumbing and they sent Adrian Rios. I have all praises for Adrian. He is the most honest, knowledgeable plumber I have met. He is very patient and diligent when it comes to his job. He listens to the customer and never complains. Adrian is an asset to the company and I hope all plumbers could be as honest and patient as him. He completed the job and fixed the problem. Way to go Adrian!!!
