This is near my home so I figured I'd give them a shot. It was merely so-so. The woman who did my pedicure did a great job, but the one who did my nails way overpicked my cuticles and the polish was super sloppy. Chipped after a day. Also a gripe, I didn't realize at the time but part of the package comes with neck massage and she used a spearmint essential oil and didn't mention or ask. I don't have sensitive skin by any stretch but it was burning by the time I got home. As for the salon, this was in an area that flooded during Harvey, and sadly the facility reflects it. They cleaned up,re drywalled, and painted, but you can see damage to the floors and some base cabinets. I'm typically not concerned with sanitation, but it crossed my mind here. Other small things I like about other places that they don't have here are offering a drink of some sort, and its odd how mismatched all the towels they use are. All in all I won't be going back and nor can I really recommend, but I think they're trying to still operate post hurricane and just don't have the resources to bring up the quality you get elsewhere. read more

This place has nice chairs and they massage a lot longer than other places. They also wrap hot towels around your legs with a basic pedicure, which feels nice. It seems clean, the girls don't bother you much if at all, overall this place is a tad on the pricey side, but it is definitely worth the splurge. Two Weeks later: I'm going on two weeks with my white tips and pedicure and they both still look pretty decent. Long lasting is always good. A def must I say. I've been coming here for years. It's not your most aesthetically gorgeous nail spa like one you'd find in west u and such, but they do just as good of a job, ladies and friendly and they FINALLY have plastic wrap for their pedicure spas!! So much more sanitary! I don't think I'm going to be cheating on them anymore. I admit I do from time to time. I usually just get pedicures, which will run you $25. Always tip. Of course they will always try to up sell you. Just politely say "no" if you aren't interested. They TAKE THEIR TIME, which is THE MAIN REASON I love it here so much. No rushing unless you tell them you're on a schedule. No timers for mani and pedi massages so just relax! They really get your body parts looking nice. If you get a mani/pedi you will get a neck massage. Another bonus is they warm their lotion, so it's uber nice during the massage. No cold surprises. It's really lovey!!! Really!! I'd say the only two downsides are they they only have 10 chairs for pedicures. Because they take their time you may have a wait and we all know how that goes. They tell you 10 minutes and it's really 45. That goes for any nail salon. The other downside it they play tv shows rather than relaxing music. What's up with that? I want to relax people! They do have other services, however I've never used them for any so I can't comment. How does this business have no reviews?! And it was featured as the Best of Houston 2009, too! (Houston Press) Yelpers, you have got to get on this. I did my part for Yelp-kind while Jim was away by indulging my desire for a pedicure. I brought my own nailpolish as I'm wont to do, because I love zoya polish and it's better for me (safe, ethical cosmetics- less toxic etc.) This place is very laid back with quiet, unobtrusive staff. The kind woman who did my pedicure mostly left me alone to study for class while she worked. And she did a great job, I might add. I got an aromatic foot soak, foot and calf scrub, nail grooming, hot towel wrap, mint lotion, and then finally the polish. Her polishing job was meticulous, and my feet were so soft for over a week after this service. The only thing I cannot speak to (as I didn't see it) was the sterilization methods- I am a huge germophobe, so this is important. I did watch a woman clean out the foot basin I'd been in, and it seemed as though she did a thorough job. I also didn't love that I couldn't identify the products being used on me (though they worked!), as they came out of eco-sized generic looking bottles. Total setback- $25 for great results. Very relaxing, and my 2 pedicure experiences in Houston have indicated to me that in our city, the men are manly enough not to bat an eye at getting a mani-pedi. Seriously, I've seen the most rugged manly men in these places. Good for them- I love a man with good grooming habits (ahem, possibly better than mine). I came here after reading other reviews. They are not an extremely clean salon (I will bring my own instruments next time), but the attention you get is wonderful! I ended up getting a 2 hour mani/pedi, complete with a slow neck massage towards the end. I loved how slowly and carefully ALL the employees work. They are not for quantity, but QUALITY of their work. They did turn some clients down while I was there, but that didn't make them want to rush me out. I was very displeased with the service I received. I had a shellac manicure with a deluxe pedicure. My first complaint is that when I asked if the nail polishes were the same they reassured me they were. Which they couldn't of been more different? My hands are coral and my toes are a neon orange straight from the 80's! I feel like I have Halloween feet. My second complaint is that when I pay top dollar for something I feel it should last more than one day. We all know shellac us supposed to last 2 weeks at most. This nail polish didn't even last one day! It was extremely disappointing being that I had somewhere to go that evening. I have never had such a terrible manicure in my life, and it took forever. The manicurist was unfamiliar with gel, or no-chip, processing. One hand did not spend much time in acetone, so he tried to file off the old gel polish. The Emery board actually rubbed a hole in my finger, then one of the women, who seemed to know more, came over and put my hand back into the acetone -- with a brand-new open sore. The woman asked me if I wanted my nails cut or not, and I said no. Shortly after, the young man picked up a clipper and started cutting my nails. The polish job was also terrible. He didn't turn on the UV light every time. He missed a number of spots along the sides of my nails, and didn't clean up the extra polish on my cuticles and skin. He used no lotion, not did he have me wash my hands to get rid of fillings and dust. I had to spend another half hour when I got home, filing the rough edges at the tips and corners. I came here for a full set with a VERY SIMPLE design. Literally just 2 straight lines on 2 nails. They COULD NOT get it right at all. They applied nails and polish, but when applying the sticker for the design she couldn't get it to lay correctly. She would have let me leave with the stickers hanging off the edge, but I complained. She tried again and could not get it right. Finally I asked for a painted design instead, and that was even worse. So I just asked for a different color with no design. It looked like a 7yr old did it. I finally just left and went to Tic Tac Nails right across the bayou to get it fixed, and my experience was 100 times better. I'll just go there from now on. It was really upsetting because I paid (with tip) before they finished my nails, and it was DEFINITELY NOT worth it. It was also unsanitary. I got a pedicure which was fine, but the manicurist didn't wear gloves, had multiple bandaids on her hands and blood under her nails and on her fingers. Overall terrible experience. Today was my first (and last) time trying this place. I wear acrylic nails and have been doing so for many years so to see the outdated and somewhat sloppy application of my acrylic nails left me less than satisfied. Normally I let people do their jobs but I had to constantly ask for more powder to be added where she missed or I had to ask to have my nails reshaped to look the same. Needless to say, I left with nails of all shapes and sizes. I was dissatisfied to the point that I didn't even have her polish my nails. This nail salon sucks! There are barely any nail colors to choose from and most of them aren't even that good. All old colors that are out of style and ugly unless you're getting something simple. The woman doing my nails barely spoke to me and barely knew English. She was demanding and rude when I wouldn't bend my legs correctly, or if I didn't put my foot in the water when she asked me too. She hurt me a lot and didn't care or stop. The woman getting her nails done in the chair next to me was redoing her shellac on her toes and the lady doing her nails INSISTED she had to take it off using the buffer machine or whatever but the customer said it hurt her and she didn't want to use it and the lady made her do it for at least one nail. Don't waste your time or money. The first impression was the sad selection of nail polish. It looked like it was all old or off brands and not very many bottles at all. The son of the owner gave me my pedicure and the whole time he looked miserable and everything was done half a** I mentioned the missing polish on the edges of my toe nails to the owner and she corrected it. The manicure was given by a lady that admitted she couldn't see well even with eye glasses on and she missed several edges as well on my finger nails. I've been to a few high-end nail salons, and Miracle Nails is still the best! I've had a few of the techs work with me, and I love them all! You can't go wrong especially with Spring, Nina, or Lisa; you'll be pleased with their work. I've had both pedicures and manicures with Miracle Nails, and they really are awesome! I've never had a pedicure chip, a regular polish manicure not last at least a week. And everything is squeaky clean!! Do not come to this salon. I got the sloppiest manicure ever with Shelac. When I complained, they just said my nails are too short and they had to paint on my skin in order for it to last. I was visibility upset with the results and they didn't do a thing to make it better except continue to argue with me and explain their reasoning. It's a shame, as it seems the result is from being flooded a couple of times. The staff isn't friendly or accommodating at all. I'm not sure why this place has received so many good reviews, because I unfortunately had a terrible experience! When my friend and I walked in and sat down in the waiting chairs, no one came to greet us. After ten minutes we approached a woman working on nails and she just told us to pick a color and wait. 30-45 minutes passed and finally my friend was seen, but I was still stuck waiting. My friend started receiving a manicure to find out that the color she wanted was empty and they had nothing comparable in stock. The ladies were pushing her to choose other colors that were not what she wanted and after being there for an hour while not being properly serviced we just wanted to leave. At first the lady insisted that my friend pay 8 dollars for a nail trimming but the manager came and we let them know we didn't want to pay after we wasted more than an hour here and we didn't feel it was right to pay for unsatisfactory service. We left and went straight to Upton's, where we were greeted promptly on our arrival and were taken care of immediately. Dinky environment, location, and terrible customer service.
