What happens when you speak up?! This…read more Your health and salon cleanliness should be a top priority. Based on my recent experience, I would not recommend this salon. The manager should be ashamed. I'm upset to write this after being a loyal client for two years. During my most recent appointment, I asked the manager about the design pricing and raised concerns about cleanliness. The nail file used on me did not appear to be new, and I noticed debris and residue on the drill bits. When I asked about their sanitation practices, I felt my questions were met with defensiveness rather than clear answers. I paid for the service and even tipped my regular nail tech extra. Later, management told me I was no longer welcome back. (Management took zero accountability and said that this was a decision based upon my nail tech who I considered a friend and was even going to do my wedding nails..) I'm disappointed that raising concerns about something as important as hygiene ended my relationship with a salon I had supported for so long. I encourage prospective clients to look closely at whether fresh nail files and clean drill bits are being used and to ask questions if anything concerns them. This should have been a concern to fix not ban a client over.. very strange and unprofessional.

I was seated right away, water flowing in the foot bath. It wasn't too busy, and as a result, both my manicurist (who also happened to be the owner!) and my pedicure technician (Emi/Amy - not sure on the spelling) were able to take their time. Emi was so fun and gave an amazing massage - going to book her again next time for sure. Bonus points to the owner for putting on the World Cup game! Posh is located on Newport Blvd in Costa Mesa tucked in a corner of a small strip mall. Their sister salon is across the street, and they are able to easily serve their clients by sharing technicians and referring across locations as needed. The shape was perfect BUT 8 out of 10 fingers have a gap between the tip and the ends of my nails. From the beginning, the experience felt uncomfortable. She was a little rough during my pedicure, and some of her comments came across as unnecessary and rude. For example, after she finished the French tip, she asked if I liked it. I told her yes and that it looked nice, and her response was, "It's very hard because your nails are so short." I'm not sure why that comment was necessary after I had already said I was happy with how they looked. Amanda also kept trying to get me to text her directly so she could have my phone number and make future appointments with me. I found that strange and uncomfortable. If I wanted to book with her again, I could simply make an appointment through the salon's normal booking system or website. The part that really bothered me happened after I left. Apparently there had been some miscommunication involving Amanda and another client who wanted to book with her that morning, and somewhere in the process the salon incorrectly charged me for my pedicure. After I had already left the salon, I received a call letting me know THEY had incorrectly charged me and that I still owed an additional $25. I said okay and agreed that I would come back to pay the difference. Not even 20 minutes later, they were calling me AGAIN asking me to come back. That was completely unprofessional to me. I had already agreed to return and pay the difference for a mistake that their establishment made. They didn't even give me a reasonable opportunity to come back before calling me again over $25. I was not refusing to pay, avoiding their calls, or telling them I wasn't coming back. I had literally just told them I would return. The person who called me, Tri, handled the situation in a way that I found extremely unprofessional. Mistakes happen, and I had no issue paying the correct amount. My issue is how I was treated after THEIR billing mistake. Once a customer has agreed to return and correct the difference, repeatedly calling them less than 20 minutes later is excessive and made me feel like I was being harassed over an error I didn't even make. Between the uncomfortable experience during my pedicure, Amanda trying to get me to communicate with her personally for future appointments, and especially the way the salon handled its own billing mistake afterward, this was an extremely disappointing first experience. I will not be returning to this establishment, and based on my experience today, I would not recommend it to my friends or family.
